I have ordered twice from this company, first time to sample two cakes, arrived as expected, both cakes were lovely.
Then ordered in advance 2 further larger cakes for my joint birthday and wedding, the delivery was perfect and cakes were tasty, the lemon vegan sponge was more flavoursome than the plain. The fruit cake was stunning, many guests commented on how they enjoyed the cakes, asked where they were from.
I called twice about my delivery and the customer service were great. Definitely recommended
I received my Mystery Cake Box today and I am absolutely delighted with it. The variety of cakes included is excellent, with a really generous selection that feels thoughtfully put together.
For £12.95, this is outstanding value for money. The cakes look fresh and inviting, and it is a lovely surprise not knowing exactly what you are going to receive. I genuinely cannot wait to enjoy them with friends and family.
I would highly recommend the Mystery Cake Box from The Original Cake Company and would happily order again.
Ordered a Muffin box and Advent calendar, and was supposed to be delivered by DPD, which never happened and I waited home for them, parcel was dumped at my local Shell garage for me to collect which I cannot do. Emailed them to say this and basically got fobbed off with them saying it is outside of their control, when it very much is when they choose to use DPD.
I have bought the twelve days advent calendar and even though the cakes themselves have been really tasty the cost, the thinnest of the cakes and the fact that the cakes fall out of their sections (meaning that I’ve had to bend and damage the box to get one, has spoilt the experience of opening it on a daily basis). For the price the cakes need to be thicker and more secure. Such a letdown
2 products ordered via QVC on 18th Nov …still not arrived. Food items are sent straight from the supplier but in my case I have no idea where they are as I’m still waiting for shipping information to be sent. Zero communication from this company or QVC( also left them a 1 star review as they are as unhelpful) no response to emails or calls answered. Requested updates and asked for cancellation. Not heard a thing. Terrible experience . Taking money but not providing any service is unacceptable. I shouldn’t have to spend this much time chasing cakes.
Don’t advertise product on a TV channel and take money from consumers if you are not going to send the orders. I know this isn’t the original cake company official trust pilot page but hopefully warning customers of their shockingly poor service will stop others spending money ordering from them!
I ordered a small cake for my sister for her birthday, on the 18 nov for delivery the 3rd december to allow for a day or two of postage issues. And to make sure I gave plenty of order turn around time.
Four days before I received an email saying the items had been despatched and I had a tracking number. So, I though all was in hand. I then came across, in my junk mail, an email sent two days later from someone in their sales team saying there was an issue getting the cake out on time and was it ok to send it a day later. I replied saying yes, that was ok. I didn't hear back, I emailed again to confirm. still nothing so I called them directly.
At first they didn't want to tell me anything on the phone and were very curt. They then admitted there was still an issue and if it could be sent even later now. There was no apology, they did offer to send a different cake, but my sister only wanted a specific kind so this was not an acceptable offer. Also by now I had lost all trust in them.
Why I am so upset? Over all the manner in which I was contacted and spoken to, and or not responded to also. I have since seen that they also deal with business orders, so all I can suspect is because I am a lowly personal customer, my small order is far less important to them.
I am due to receive another cake from them for myself for Xmas, but have had no information if this has been sent either. Also supposed to arrive the 3rd.
You can be certain I'll never use this company again and I shall never recommend them to personal clients or buisnesses.
As the other reviewer says, ordered cake boxes on 5 November, query non arrival on 18th ...ignored. Get a dispatched notice on 20th then nothing...changed plans to be around for a delivery that didn't happen. No tracking, nothing. Big shame as was trying to use these for a charity hamper.
