I have had my review removed by…

I have had my review removed by Trustpilot because I gave Original Organics a very bad review. TP probably got a complaint about it. I have documentation which would prove all I said, but there is no way of appealing against this. So no more reviews for TP. I cant review them, but it would be one star.

Very poor service

very poor service. The item I ordered turned out to be unavailable (despite still being listed as "in stock") on their website. They didn't tell me and I only found out by following up with them , weeks after I'd paid for the item.

Based on the other reviews here, this is an ongoing issue. The company will no doubt respond here claiming that they are sorry and will improve, but they've failed to respond to ongoing customer feedback.

Aerobin Compost from Original Organics

Bought myself a aerobin 200 compost (thermal compost), which was sent and dispatched within 5 days (including weekend) of order!
No notification of when or of dispatch which could have been improved, just received the DHL message on the day it was sent. Box had all the parts and two decent booklets on using it.

Very Poor Customer Service

Very Poor Customer Service and Communication. Should have read the other reviews!

I ordered and item on there website based on the 2-4 day delivery that they advertised. Received an order acknowledgement for this and then heard nothing else.

5 days after ordering, I called their customer service number, who told me the item was out of stock and would be at least 1-2 weeks for them to get in stock.

When I suggested that they should contact customers who would be affected by this and let them know their items would be delayed or update the website to reflect as such, I was met with absolute incredulity and told that their team is too small to keep the website up to date.

I have since asked for a refund but have been told this would be 3-5 days to process.

As with other reviews on here and trust pilot, when you can actually get their items, they are fairly good but the stock availability and customer service is dreadful and I will not be using again and heading to one of their competitors and I advise others to do the same.

Wish I had read the reviews before ordering!
I ordered bokashi bins, but when nothing arrived I emailed to ask when I might receive my order. They did reply, 5 days later, to say
"unfortunately after a stock check we no longer have these in the stock, and have no plans to have any more come in
I've processed the refund to the original payment method and should be with you in the next 3-5 business days."
No apology at all. No concept of customer service.
At least they have said they will process a refund - although, am I right in thinking that legally money should not be taken until goods are despatched?
I will have to remember to check the refund comes through.

Zero customer service communication

I originally ordered a 1200 ltr double composter, which took over 5 weeks to arrive and then when it became available, a additional 'add on' bin, which took 6 days! I can understand delays, but 'zero' customer service communication and 'zero' notification about delivery timescale! Both deliveries you only get a GM8 and DHL email on the day of delivery. The bins are ok, building the 'add on' bins would benefit from some stainless 'L' brackets & screws rather than screwing through boards.

Avoid website! Doesn’t deliver and no explanation

Ordered an aerobin composter which isn’t cheap! Website says should be delivered within 7 days. After 2 weeks of not hearing anything I emailed to get a reply just saying there’s no stock. No apology. No timeframe of when they might have some in stock. When I said this should be mentioned on their website I was ignored. Still waiting for the product. Would avoid this website at all costs.

This is potentially a scam website

This is potentially a scam website. I put in an order for a wormery. Waited around a month and when nothing materialised chased it up. This is the response I got back:

'good afternoon

I've been in to our warehouse to see what is happening and unfortunately we cannot fulfil your order, and won't be getting any new stock of these for some time due to a minimum order quantity from Australia

I've refunded your order to the original payment method'

No apology, no real explanation about why they have still got my money, and at the moment Stephen has not refunded me and I am still down ~£100.

Maybe Stephen will see this and take some action?

Order then said processing for 48hrs before then showing as closed and suggesting I'm going to get a refund - nothing has appeared as yet. The only email I've received was the original order confirmation but nothing to tell me the order has been cancelled and why. Very poor experience so I won't be using again. Leaving this review as a warning to others.

Bought 1kg of worms

Bought 1kg of worms. Great price but now I know why! I’ve bought a bag of soil, very disappointed with the actual amount of worms. Don’t be tempted by the prices, they’re cheap for a reason. Better value elsewhere. Lesson learnt, never again!

Hi, we are competitively priced for the quality of worms we provide - we cannot and will not simply put worms into a plastic bag as you may see elsewhere. Worms need soil to be transported and they will breed whilst packaged quite quickly. Therefore our weighting is based as described on our listings for an estimated number of worms in a standard weight of soil. Once landed in their new home they will multiply and eggs will hatch. Worm turned out not to be “native”

The company has an Irish website but is a UK company. The tiger worms I ordered were advertised as native as that is important when it comes to soil health, but they are in fact not native, they are shipped in from England. Supporting Irish businesses is important to me, so I would have used another company if it had been made clear. An English company using .ie in their website is masquerading as something they are not & that doesn’t sit well with me. Overall, I felt misled.

Compost bin lid warped badly: I fixed it but no gesture

We bought a 600 litre "Blackdown" Single Wooden Composter: the "Deluxe" including a wooden lid, for £227 total (with Easter discount).

The BIN looks great but was tricky to build (would be much easier with pre-drilled pilot holes, but for that they would probably need a tooling jig).

The LID (£80-90 if bought separately) also looks great, but arrived very damp (as if stored outdoors, in the rain). Website does say they need drying, but ours WARPED badly in situ over 1st month: cm gaps opening around 3 planks, room for vermin to get in.

Looking at the construction it's fairly obvious why: they have skimped on screws, applying them only down the planks' centre lines. Whereas if more were used, along/near the edges instead, the planks would be held in place as they dried, minimal warping.

I put in a Warranty claim, but rather than insisting on a replacement lid (costing them £150+ to scrap one +ship another), as they looked like a smallish business I said I'd try to fix it first.

I soaked the lid overnight, then weighted it down evenly with sacks of coal 300kg. It "warped back" acceptably over a couple of months, whereupon I applied more screws, down the plank edges. Looks ok so far, took me about 4 hours work total.

So I asked for a £50 gesture, to cover my labour at minimum wage plus my screws. I thought that was very fair compared to the replacement I could have insisted on, also would allow me to writeup a great review of a problem solved together "win/win".

Silly me: they tried to minimise any gesture down to £25 yet I have heard nothing more, so I feel taken me for a MUG. Probably the last time I try to do a merchant a favour, saving them £150+ asking only for my costs to be covered. Wow, be careful folks.

Fantastic Customer Service

Placed an order for 2 x water butt diverters, shipping was fast until Evri apparently lost them at their sorting hub, (Evri are so useless). I contacted Original Organics customer help line and Stephen posted me out another 2 by Royal Mail 1st class which I received within 24 hours. Fantastic customer service, thank you Stephan, I will definitely use them again.

Customer service ?????

Placed and order for a Keter premier shed 7.5ft x 9ft on the. Accepted the delivery terms of 21 days. Closer to the 21 day delivery time had no confirmation that it would be arriving. I rang customer service told not to worry it will be with you within that time. This date past so rang again to be then told that there had been a processing issue on there system but it would now be another 2-3 week minimum. Was then told a manager would call me back. That never happened so I then decided to send an email, waited 5 days with no reply so then rang back again to be told that what’s the point in updating me when they had no news about my order apart from the fact it was actually placed this time. Fast forward another week I rang to then be told it’s being delivered this week and they thought that someone had contacted me.

First of all I understand mistakes can happen. But the customer service has been non existent and poor. Such a shame really because this could have been dealt with and handled in a much better way but instead I’ve had 0 communication. Not something i would expect from a reputable company. Bad attitudes, carelessness and excuses.

I am not impressed with the service of…

I am not impressed with the service of this company. I placed an order on 22 May for a water butt. I placed the order on the understanding that these water butts were out of stock as per the website. Since then I have phoned and asked when these will be in and each time the member’s staff have said that they will be in on Thursday, I am hoping that this Thursday will be day they will arrive but who knows?

Nothing Special, Nothing Bad

We ordered Aero Bin 200 and leachate hose kit.

Bin is OK, but I did have to empty the top half to reconstruct it after it became misaligned when I knocked against it whilst working around it. Would be better if it clicked/locked together more securely.

Hose kit was a waste of money, hose supplied is very thin. All you need is a short length of 1/2" hose and a bottle.

Time will tell if it produces good compost quickly.
