The comments were insulting
The comments were insulting. I was treated as if I am stupid. Some of the comments made by the Origin staff member were plainly incorrect. The AER does not control the Daily Supply charge so Origin can charge whatever they like with no consequences. The reduction in General Usage rates were not offset by the increase in the Daily Supply charge as claimed by Origin staff member. My bill will increase by 14.5% based on previous quarter bill usage.

Had some concerns as we rang to update a week or so ago and didn't receive a plan.
Rang and spoke to someone called MJ who we found difficult to understand as she had an accent and was speaking rapidly, asked a number of times for her to 'slow down' then the call dropped out!
Rang back and spoke to Matthew who was great, took the time to talk us through our new plan, and explained there was no record of our original call, have already received our new plan, thank you Matthew

Origin made a serious account-record…
Origin made a serious account-record error, whereby "3" totally unrelated 'Owners Corporation' accounts were linked to our Owners Corporation account. One invoice was for $30,303.95!!!
Our OC plan number, ABN, supply address, previous postal address were all exposed in this error. I heard nothing for 1 week, after which I was advised that the accounts were all set up under the same portfolio, and that I would have to set the accounts up again - WHEN I had nothing to do with the other 3 accounts!!
FINALLY, on 8 June - over 2 weeks later, I received an email advising situation resolved - NO apology offered. VERY unhappy with Origin.
UPDATE!!! 23 June 2026 - Situation 'still' not resolved. I received 'another' bill for an unknown Owners Corporation today.
Extremely poor processes, Origin!

Spoke with Thomas on the phone today who went above and beyond to rectify my experience over the weekend of being left with no power for the whole weekend, Thomas made it his mission to get everything sorted out perfectly to the best of his ability, and worked with me up until the AMAZING moment of the power turning on!!!! Couldn’t be happier with the service I have received today. As per the two people I spoke to on Friday, I think they have some room for opportunity as they didn’t have any care, will or effort to help me with my situation.

The young gentleman was very polite &friendly.
As it had been over twenty years since I had to worry about electricity bills, the young man was so helpful with me in setting up my account & connection.
I also like that I have had the emails, letting me know of the progress.

Further into dealing with them about solar batteries:
not happy that they CONTROL how much goes to the grid. I thought that only when the battery is full, the surplus goes to the grid.

Your staff are very helpful and friendly, the only real problem is their English, at times very hard to understand.
The other problem is your departments don't communicate, I received a message on the 15th May 2026, stating that someone would out to finish my Solar Connection, only to find out 2and half weeks later that nobody was coming out and if fact my Solar System was working on the 11th of May 2026. Why would I receive a message on the 15th, shocking service, it cost me money, as I didn't change my plan thinking my Solar System wasn't ready. Please get your Act Together. Colin
