Fraudulent Hotel. Do not stay here!
FRAUDULENT. Stole my money and lied to American Express. DO NOT BOOK HERE. We booked a room directly with the hotel in order to attend a wedding. Following a dispute between the hotel and the groom, the wedding was cancelled. We then received an email from the hotel stating that our room payments had been applied to settle the groom’s outstanding debt under his contract with them. As a result, we now have flights to Marrakech in two days but no accommodation. This is an unacceptable way to treat guests. A customer who books directly with a hotel should never be held financially responsible for a third party’s contractual obligations. We did not pay the groom, nor did he book on our behalf—we made our reservation with the hotel directly. While we understand that cancellations made by us might result in forfeited funds, diverting our payment to cover someone else’s debt is completely inappropriate.
