While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

Contacted directly on Linkedin for translation work

This company contacted me directly on Linkedin asking me if I would be interested in taking part in a Japanese-English translation project. I asked them what the pay is and they told me that they would not discuss the compensation until I send them my CV. They also insisted that I fill out some forms and register on their database.

They gave me some vague response, saying that the rate of pay depends on the project. They refused to even give me a rough idea of their rates of pay unless I register. I find their manner unprofessional and time wasting. Why would I want to send them my CV and provide them with my personal details only to find out that their rate of pay is inadequate. The person who contacted me representing Pangeanic didn't even have a name. They didn't even give me a phone number. I get the impression that they're just trying to harvest CVs.

Hi! we are really sorry to hear that your experience was perceived in such a negative way.

We are certified in more than five ISO standards, so yes, our vendors need to register in our database to sign a NDA, and we need to see their CVs first to check that they really have the necessary qualifications and/or experience. In no case do we collect CVs just for our own benefit, we simply meet our quality standards, to ensure that the final result of the work is optimal for both the vendor and the client.

We leave you a link to our Proz blueboard: https://www.proz.com/blueboard/979, where you can see the opinions of people who have worked with us, so you can check that we are a serious company that takes seriously the contact with our vendors.

Best regards
