Please avoid buying any property from Wainhomes that have used Panorama as their kitchen suppliers!!
We bought a property from Wainhomes in 2019 and adored our gloss kitchen initially! Then the problems started occurring after being in the property for a year. It started with the unit doors blowing and bubbling around the edges. As expected this was reported by us to Wainhomes, who then raised this with Panorama. Panorama initially refused to take responsibility for the defects and resulted in the current site manager at the time building a case file against them, due to the number of properties having defects arise at the same time. When the contracts manager did finally visit, we got told that it was likely due to the fact that we used a wet cloth to wipe the door fronts, that we had our kettle under the units (that we should place our kettle on the island - what a joke) and that it could be down to plaster still drying out!! Long story short, after fighting tooth and nail, they agreed to change all of our unit doors on the top half of our kitchen, including the fridge and freezer. Within a couple of months, surprise surprise they blew out again, this time along with our drawer fronts. Again, we contacted Panorama amd they said they had to come out and take a sample for 'testing' to check if they were actually blowing. Ironically, the contractor who visited appropriately took a door from our kitchen that very clearly had no blisters on it. So we got told that after their testing on the sample everything came back fine. After fighting tooth and nail yet again, I managed to get them to return to take a sample for the doors that actually had blown out. No surprises, it came back and needed replacing. So, off we went again, more doors and drawer fronts were ordered an replaced (after waiting for a good number of weeks). Then... when the replacements came, they were fitted only to show that they were very visibly chipped!!! Our fridge door at this point had been changed twice now, then after 4 weeks of it being changed for a second time, it without surprise blistered yet again!! I have contacted Panorama regarding the issue and they have said they need to take ANOTHER sample (why, I don't know, cause surely it's clear by now that this product is not fit for purpose) and that we would have our entire kitchen changed to the new boards that they use now, and they would come out to match it up. We have rejected this because we have friends who have also been supplied this 'new board type' and their kitchen is A LOT worse than ours!! We have requested to change the kitchen type to the upgrade kitchen offered at the time of buying the property. Panorama could not confirm this change!! They need to see the reports from the testing...again!! All of the above doesn't even touch on the fact that the quartz worktop on the island was loose when we moved in.
