While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

Toyota Yaris Hybrid battery design flaw made worse

Bad enough to discover a 3 year old Toyota Yaris hybrid has a tiny battery that can't cope with 'less than 100 miles a week' but to be told that I need to replace the battery will cost over £200?
It's a major design flaw that Parklands, as a Toyota dealer, would not even waive the labour cost for. The best they could do was advise to leave the car running for an hour every week or get a solar panel charger. The car is kept in the garage when not in use. How's that going to work?
Admittedly, it was purchased from another Toyota dealer but the lack of accountability ensures I'll be selling this and never darken Toyota's doorway ever again.

Toyota Rav 4 Fault Diagnosis

Took my Toyota Rav 4 in for a fault diagnosis. For clarification the car was purchased 11 months previously as approved used from a fellow Toyota main dealer with 12 months approved used warranty included.

The car was diagnosed as having a faulty catalytic converter which they claimed was an exclusion in the Toyota terms and conditions. The repair bill was £2500 and diagnostic fee of £270.

On questioning they simply stated i had the service based additional warranty which excluded the catalytic converter. Wouldn't acknowledge the T&C's on the Toyota GB website said otherwise. They also wouldn't escalate the matter and simply washed their hands like a £2500 repair was common practice on a 5 year old 47000 mile car.
