Bad Service Pascoes Hornbu

I took a G Shock watch to have a new strap & have the watch looked as it keeps going blank(21st January). They told me the watch should be back by the 4th February? around the 7th I phoned & asked what was happening to my watch. the next day they gave me a price & I agreed to pay etc. They told me it should be back in 10 days? I phoned around the 22nd They told me they would call me when it was back!
So on Monday the 2nd March i went to the shop & asked where my watch was, A male behind the counter said what's the name yes your watch is here we tried to call you! Guess what the watch was not back, They called me a few hours later & said it should be here by the end of the week. When I went to pick the watch up I attempted to complain about the extra month it took & the false claims of trying to call me! then another staff member said but he tried to call you to say it would be delayed. I had no missed calls on my phone that I have not called back. Pascoe's other than to tell me to pick my watch up Today have not called me to tell me of delays? Basically the service was disgusting they charge high amounts for repairs but have no customer service, One very unhappy customer

Awful customer service with a watch…

Awful customer service with a watch that broke 3 months in - store refused to help, following the issue up with their head office they inform me the Consumer Guarantees Act wouldn't apply to them. Not worth wasting energy on a $140 watch to take it further but be warned!

Don't shop there!

We bought a gold chain and pendant with a $500 voucher from Pascoe's Botany (gift card from an item I had returned). On buying these no offer of discount was forthcoming. We then decided to also buy some gold earrings. We saw some at $159 and decided to get these. The shop assistant said she would give us a discount on these as we had already spent $500. She then tells us they are $189!!! (They were marked $159). The sales assistant stood her ground and insistent they were $189 as per their computer system (even though on the box in the cabinet they were marked $159). After us verbally going back and forth a couple of times, she then said we could have them at $160. To avoid any further embarrassment I agreed to pay this. We will NEVER shop at Pascoe's again and are making sure we tell all friends and family not to shop there either.

Bought a watch in the sale

Bought a watch in the sale. Metal strap clasp fell off somehow kept the watch on my wrist. Offered a leather strap which I wished I had not taken. Their excuse the watch is probably being discontinued so the silver strap they would not get the part. The leather strap came away fortunately did not lose the watch again. Asked for refund or another watch assistant manager at their Richmond store extremely un-helpful totally refused. £300 dollars for a watch that is not what I want. Cowboys do not use them. Wish I had looked at there reviews before purchasing.

A store filled with racist white women i will never step foot in that store again I felt discriminated as a Māori women I was with my 12 year daughter. Xmas Eve 24/12/24. I was the only customer that wasn’t allowed to touch the jewellery when everyone else was allowed to touch before they brought! Apparently it was a security breach absolutely rubbish! Young white girl who served me I reached out to the elderly women who clearly didn’t give a damn about how they made me felt i explained to her what had happened she also said it’s a security breach if I touch the chain necklaces. White privileged people!! Man I felt like a useless Māori women to be embarrassed like that in public. Maybe it was the way I dressed yeah nah it was because I wasn’t white that’s it!!!

Just about everything that's wrong with…

Just about everything that's wrong with business's today. Called them re. a watch on sale that had a metal strap and asked the young lady if I could swap for a rubber strap or buy one for it. She had no clue and said to call back in a couple of days when 'the guy that knows about straps' will be back. Asked a couple of further questions about other models, also had no clue. And, to add, the moral is make sure you disconnect the call before making comments. Contacted the 'strap guy' who informed me straps couldn't be exchanged but I could buy one for it, which they didn't have. Said he'd ring Casio and get a quote, never heard back from him. Excellent customer relations, not.

Travelling Auckland through south…

Travelling Auckland through south Island last Christmas stopped at Pascoes in Rangiroa ended up buying a stunning 1ct ring on sale For about $2850 ,total more than that as brought a watch also.
Looked at it on Sunday sparkling, suddenly realised was missing a diamond and we are going overseas for a month on Friday, knew would never get ring down & back in that time.
Took to my local Jeweller shop who can replace stone as the claw was broken , he is a manufacturer also.
Called Pascoes so EXTREMELY unhelpful had to be sent to them, explained again, nope asked if they would contribute something towards replacement as only 10 months old.
Said had to examine and decide, told them had photo, still not interested
Extremely shocking customer service totally unhelpful.
Never recommend to anyone

Do not purchase from the James Pascoe Group

I purchased a new watch from the Center Place branch in Hamilton, in the evening shortly before close. The staff were very friendly and eager to make a sale and I walked out wearing what I thought was a shiny new watch.

Upon getting home, I gave it a look over and noticed some very deep scratches, store was closed so I went back the next day to discuss a remedy. The watch had been worn under a soft jumper and is stainless steel so the kind of damage would have been impossible to do.

The store clerks immediately went on the defensive and called me a liar to my face after I said I did not cause the damage. Refused to exchange or refund and offered, "as a gesture of good faith" to send the watch to be polished. No other choice given I chose this option.

The watch came back after two weeks, a little shinier but the damage still remained. Unhappy, I asked if anything further could be done and the (again, rude, defensive) clerk said no and again accused me of causing the damage (but stating the store can't prove they did it).

Do not recommend shopping at Pascoes or their related stores (Stewart Dawson, Farmers, Whitcoulls), take your money somewhere that will respect you as a customer and own up to their own mistakes. When I was originally purchasing the watch, I witnessed the clerk knock over two other watches while getting mine out of the cabinet, causing them to hit other watches on display (likely damaging them in the process). Obvious red flag that I missed at the time and a lesson learned.

Avoid.

Uncontionable conduct

Pascoes - The Palms, Christchurch.
Refused a refund on items that lasted just 3 months of continuous wear. Lied to by sales staff. Situation used to extort another sale. Replacement earrings broke on first use, returned and refund issued. Ghosted by 'customer care' head office and still out of pocket.
From this consumer's perspective, the real measure of a company lies not in doing things right (i.e. making lots of sales) but in how they respond when things go wrong. On this latter point, Pascoes fails miserably.

Never again!!

Will never shop at Pascoes again! So disappointed in my experience shopping with them. I spent nearly $800 on a gold bangle that snapped in half after eighteen months wear and when i took it back to the store they were not interested in sorting the issue out and told me to claim on my insurance!. I did take the bangle to be accessed by a professional and what i was told confirmed my suspicions so I will definitely not waste my money buying from Pascoes in the future.

I will not be going to Pascoes again

I will not be going to Pascoes again. After sending a ring in to be resized, they gave me a receipt which clearly stated that the job would be done in 2 weeks. After they failed to contact me then, I called in to see if there were any updates. I was repeatedly told that an update would be looked into and that I would be called back in 15 minutes which I never was. I guess that’s understandable when the original woman behind the counter who recorded all my details that I wrote down, missed a digit in my phone number. Irregardless, no other forms of contact were made.

It wasn’t until 10 days after the original date on my receipt that my ring was ready to be picked up.

After collecting the ring and as my fiancee was leaving the store, the woman behind the counter had the audacity to inform him of an additional charge that was to be made following pick up.

No compensation for the late ring, just an additional fee to pay on our behalf.

We refused.

Highly disappointed with the service here. Never going to Pascoes again.

Pascoes turns business away

Having had ann excellent experience a year ago getting a link taken out of a new watch strap I was surprised when I went back to have the same thing done on a second watch and they refused, siting a policy change. There were no other customers in the shop and still they didn't want to make any money off me. When did businesses stop wanting income?

Worst customer service ever

My recent experience at the store was extremely disappointing. I purchased a watch on the 9th of May, and by the 13th, the screen had inexplicably become damaged. Despite the outer glass being intact, the internal screen was faulty. When I approached the staff about it, they insisted on sending it away for repair, which would take up to 10 working days the watch only cost me $49. Considering the watch's low value, this seemed unreasonable to me.

What baffled me even more was the lack of flexibility in their policy. They refused to offer a replacement or any immediate solution without consulting their absent manager. This left me feeling incredibly inconvenienced.

To make matters worse, when I calmly expressed my concerns about the situation, the staff threatened to call security, as if my reasonable inquiries were somehow out of line. This level of customer service is unacceptable, especially for a simple warranty claim.

Overall staff behaviour is unacceptable and rude. It's evident that they prioritise protocol over customer satisfaction, which is a major flaw in any retail establishment
