Passages Malibu is a licensed luxury residential addiction treatment center in Malibu, California, offering private alcohol treatment, drug treatment, prescription drug treatment, medically supported detox, and holistic care for individuals and families seeking help. Founded in 2001 by Chris and Pax Prentiss, Passages Malibu was created as an alternative to traditional rehab programs. Our approach focuses on individualized treatment planning, one-on-one therapy, clinical support, holistic modalities, and identifying underlying conditions that may contribute to alcohol or drug dependency. At Passages Malibu, treatment is not based on labels, shame, or a one-size-fits-all model. Each client receives a personalized treatment plan and works with a multidisciplinary care team that may include medical doctors, psychiatrists, psychologists, licensed therapists, chemical dependency counselors, fitness trainers, acupuncturists, hypnotherapists, spiritual counselors, and other holistic practitioners. Unlike many treatment centers that rely heavily on group meetings, Passages Malibu emphasizes extensive one-on-one therapy, private residential care, trauma-informed support, co-occurring mental health support, aftercare planning, and individualized clinical and holistic treatment. Our goal is to help each client better understand and address the physical, emotional, psychological, and lifestyle factors that may be connected to substance use. Our private Malibu campus is designed to provide comfort, privacy, and dignity throughout treatment. Clients receive care in a serene luxury residential setting with individualized schedules, holistic therapies, clinical oversight, medical supervision when appropriate, and compassionate support. Passages Malibu accepts many major private insurance plans. Our admissions team is available 24/7 to answer questions, verify insurance benefits confidentially, discuss treatment options, and help individuals and families determine whether Passages Malibu is the right fit. If you or someone you love is looking for luxury rehab in Malibu, private alcohol rehab, drug rehab, prescription drug treatment, medically supported detox, one-on-one therapy, holistic rehab, or residential addiction treatment with clinical support, Passages Malibu offers a confidential path forward.

If you or someone you love is looking…

If you or someone you love is looking for a treatment program that genuinely cares about healing the whole person, I cannot recommend Passages highly enough. They tailor a program just for you that makes you feel seen, supported and cared for. The level of individual sessions are unmatched. You can go the easy route with other rehabs and have a short term solution or you can go deep and heal the underlying issues and that’s Passages.

The worst place that you can go to if…

The worst place that you can go to if you are addicted to drugs or alcohol.
The owner and son act is ridiculous since neither has any medical training. The doctor on staff wants to sell you many vitamins as he can. The young people are having sex. No monitoring of the facilities by any competent person. I was driven, in their van, by a former patient and we hit something. This place is a mess

The worst place possible

The worst place possible. My 1st night there I did not get my meds because they forgot. That a common theme. Nurses at malibu seem bothered when they have to do there job, not all theres 2-3 good ones. There is no 24hr DR. You see doc once a week if lucky and if you really beg you can get your meds filled. Which now unless it's a controlled substance you uber yourself to get em. I went in on 1 med came out on literally 10meds. Food is good, that's honestly all I can say positive. Place is showing its age. Literally falling apart. They sold one therapy center and are selling one of the sober houses. I do not recommend this place due to the fact everytime I needed meds I had to literally give a week notice, then pretty much do all follow up myself to get it filled. They forget everything all day long. I was in the sober house too. 20client house with 1 worker on shift most of time. If you need something you get an uber. Hippa violations like crazy. There were 2 med sheets left right on a desk where I was taking my meds fully open to read. Shop around you can do much better than this for 80k a month. Actually they kick u out at 28 days for faster rotation.

I used to work at Passages for 3 years…

I used to work at Passages for 3 years as a bookkeeper when it just started in 2001. I saw a tremendous amount of opposition and obstacles, but the wonderful healing kept going on. They continue to hire qualified hard working staff that care about helping people, and a supportive environment to achieve that goal.
This is the best. I sometimes hear people talk about how much money places like this make etc.. But this is easy to understand as people just do not know what goes on behind the scene and inside of knowing the books and where every penny went. The expense from running a company like this is high, difficult and not simple. Chris and Pax have done an amazing job, are generous with their staff, grateful, and do whatever they can humanly do, to achieve their one goal in helping as many people as possible. Chris's body of work in helping many people with addiction continues to expand in many places. The latest work is seen in a massive rehab in Florida to help teens. It has always been his dream to help people and his legacy will continue to reshape and add to the old ideas into continued new solutions toward recovery.

I have attended Passages Malibu and I…

I have attended Passages Malibu and I can tell you it has honestly saved my life. Ive been through some extreme trauma in my life that contributed to my underlying reasons why I used. I have tried other treatment centers but passages was different. Passages showed me so much respect and compassion as I walked in the door.
I was given time to decompress and deal with medical issues my first week of treatment where I was shown understanding and patience. The admissions office, Micheal Shanner and his staff were great to work with. Dr. Khalsa, Dede and her fantastic team of nurses and everyone else that assisted me during my stay are all rock stars. I had many medical issues walking in the door that I thought would make my treatment difficult but the medical team stepped up and made me feel comfortable and physically much better then I could've imagined.

The facility is beautiful. You have to be there to believe it. You are catered to the moment you walk in the door. Your bedroom is cleaned daily. They ruffle your towels No matter the room you get you'll be impressed. And if you need something extra just ask them and you shall receive. I fell like I really mattered to them. All the staff in the grounds and housekeeping were so nice. Hard working!

The therapists... oh man they are the greatest team in the world. My opinion but I've been everywhere! Christine, Jaqueline, Pamela, Carlos, and so many more. From the acupuncture to family therapy and individual sessions were life changing for me. The therapy I received and chasing down the underlying reasons for my using has forever changed me. I'm so grateful to passages that words cannot express. .

I was lucky enough to sit in one of Chris Prevtiss' talks on meta physics. It was mind blowing. I thought of addiction and self awareness forever differently and how they collide. He is an amazing man and so grateful that he Co-founded the passages program. People like me that other programs didn't work so well for cam find their freedom at passages.

Lastly I was at passages during the Woolsey fire of 2018. We had but a few minutes to evacuate. Passages did a phenomenal job getting all of us out of Malibu and to there other location in Santa Monica. Pax,Chris and so many other staff had their own homes being threatened but were there right with us making sure we were safe. I understand that pax and Chris even had some of the clients at their own homes to help with the overflow. You just don't see that kind of care and devotion these days. This to me wax amazing. I have experienced loss from fire myself as my own tractor dealership burned down December 24th 2017. It was devastating. Part of the story that brought me to passages in the first place. The Prentiss family and staff of passages are the best you'll find. Take my word fir it. Thank you Passages. Thank you for saving my life.

I had a serious addiction to Ambien and …

I had a serious addiction to Ambien and xanax for eight years. I found Passages on Google and was really interested in the holistic approach. I had never been to rehab so knew nothing about 12 step but I am glad that I went with Passages. The think I really liked Passages about is how they encourage you to stay in contact with your normal life. It allows you to deal with your normal day to day issues while you are with your therapists. There is no type of isolation fantasy land type of setup going on. Ppl criticize it for being nothing more than a vacation for rich ppl. It was hard work and very long days. It was not some type of TV reality show, they kicked out two ppl when I was there because they were not progressing and were causing distractions. They are a solid rehab that I am forever thankful for.

Passages saved my life

When I checked into Passages on 3/6/15 I was completely broken, hopeless, and full blown addicted to drugs and alcohol. The intake staff was very kind, friendly, and patient with me when I got there. I was able to feel a sense of calmness and relief because they made me feel comfortable and safe from the night I arrived to the next day when I actually checked in. The holistic, non 12 step approach, that Passages offers was a perfect fit for me because I wanted to be cured for a lifetime from the chains of addiction. I made the conscious decision from day one of my treatment at Passages to completely let go of all that I had believed to be true in my life up to that moment because after many attempts to get sober I had failed and was near death. I knew my way did NOT work and therefore I was willing to be open and accepting to their philosophy of how addiction can be cured when you answer you "why" question and finally address the underlying cause of why I was killing myself with drugs and alcohol. My experience at Passages was nothing short of life changing and I was able to answer my "why" question with the help of their amazing counselors and dedicated staff. Today, almost 2 1/2 years later, I am still sober and in the best physical, mental, spiritual, and emotional condition of my life and I would not be here without the spiritual awakening I had while at Passages. I'm a better father, son, brother, friend, community activist, and human being and I owe my new sober life to the dedicated team at Passages. I'm forever in debt to founders of Passages Chris and Pax Prentiss. Thank you!!!

World Class Experience...

at a World Class Program!

Last year, I spent 5 weeks at Passages Malibu, working on a lifetime of mental health issues which led to substance abuse. I could not have chosen a better Program to help me wrestle with my demons.

The facility and Staff are top notch; First Class all the way around! The program consisted of hours and hours of one-on-one counseling with my primary, family, spiritual and chemical dependency counselors.

Passages also provided other programs to help with my Recovery. Some of my favorites were Tai-Chi. Music and Art Therapy, and Personal Training. Added to that were additional hours in Massage, Acupuncture and Hypnotherapy. I was so grateful for the self-care part of the program, and believe my Recovery progressed rapidly due having the time to relax after so many productive and intense counseling sessions. The Passages Way works on each aspect of your mind, body and soul.

Today, I am much more involved in life than I was a year ago. While I still make mistakes and the occasional poor choice, I don't have to live a life where I believe I'm the mistake. For that and much more, I have Passages to thank.

It really is a World Class Property. Which makes for an easier time to work on your "stuff". I highly recommend that you give them a call before you begin your journey of discovery to the healthier you. I'm thankful I did. And, they take Insurance; BONUS!

Passages saved my life!

My experience with Passages was beyond any expectation. Yes, I was scared to call and ask for help. My family and friends were encouraging me for years to quit drinking but I didn't know where to begin or what I needed to do. I was lost. My career was in a rut. I couldn't save a dime. I was spending all my money on alcohol and pot. I became out of shape and undesirable. I wanted to get my life back and back get control. I wanted to make myself and my family proud of the man I was but alcohol and drugs stood in the way. I was trying to cope with so many underlying issues I wasn't even sure what they were or how to fix them. I went to Passages for 90 days and the results have been incredible. I'm happy, healthy, and live a life I can finally be proud of. I'm thankful for the people at Passages who really helped me overcome this nearly deadly battle. I encourage anyone out there who is reading this to please pick up the phone and call them! You won't regret it.
