highly recommend Gary Breckon in Darlington, after a couple of negative experiences with some other instructors I started learning with Gary and what a world of a difference! he is the most patient and understanding instructor, he made me feel so at ease and explained everything so clearly. he always went out of his way to make sure I understood what to do in each situation and how and why it works. I always left lessons feeling good in my progress (and with a smile on my face as he was such a laugh which helped calm my nerves massively!) truly couldn't have passed without him, all round brilliant guy and amazing instructor, would recommend to anyone!!

I took my lessons with Hussein Al-Sammarraie from PassNGo. He knows the driving routes around my test centre really well. The advice and route selection during the practice allowed me to passed my test at the first time after 22 hours!

I've had a great experience, my driving instructor Kip made me feel very calm and talked me through everything. He tells me what we will be doing the next lesson and keeps track of everything in a notebook. He also keeps track of what I do well and need to work on and gives very good constructive criticism. He also gives good tips on how I can remember stuff.

Darren Cook is a class instructor, passed second time, definitely recommend.

Passed first time today thanks to Omar Al Salkhadi. I have been putting off learning to drive for years due to anxiety, and Omar has been super helpful and understanding. His standard are extremely high, but this meant I had 0 nerves going into the test and made the experience quite pleasant. Thank you ever so much again Omar, couldn’t have done it without you!

First time pass with the help of Aaron, his instructions, help and tips got me through my test in no time at all. A great instructor and a credit to his profession. Anyone wanting an automatic driving instructor he's the best.

My driving instructor was Sarah Amery based in Darlington and she was amazing and a huge reason why I passed my test. I was learning manual with a different instructor when they recommended I swap to automatic- after 100 hours of lessons.

I lacked confidence and was unsure when I signed up for my lessons with Sarah, with my test a month away. However, despite the short turn around time, Sarah completely changed my attitude to driving.

She told me I could drive manual anyway and that I should only choose automatic if that’s what I want not because I was told I couldn’t do manual. Her belief in me gave me a solid foundation to feel comfortable and at ease while driving - something I’d consistently struggled to do prior.

One of Sarah’s greatest strengths is how she handles a learners faults. When you do take the wrong turn or make a silly mistake, she manages to keep calm while calling you out - normally with a laugh.

I’ve found that the fear of messing up has lead to more mistakes and driving anxiety in the past and a contributing factor in that is anticipating a reaction from the instructor/passenger. Sarah never tenses up or panics - so neither did I.

When it came to practicing for tests, Sarah’s approach was equally as calm. We never practiced exact routes with a sat nav, nor did formal mock tests. As Sarah pointed out - the routes can change all the time so rather than rehearse exact ones then panic when they’re different like a dance routine, we just drove. Sometimes I’d drive several routes for over an hour without realising it because I was just following directions.

I had previously never done a driving test because my initial instruct would move the test if he thought I wasn’t ready a month in advance. This made the concept of pass/fail seem even more intimidating for me. Sarah constantly assured me I was ready and even told me if I fail then we just move on, rebook the test and try again. This definitely relieved some pressure going into the test for the first time.

I did come to Sarah with 100 hours of driving behind me, so I can’t speak as a complete newbie but Sarah did more for my driving confidence in 20 hours than I’d managed in those 100.

So if you’re learning first time I would say she’s a great person to learn with. I can’t thank her enough for her kindness and support.

My instructor Farooq Ali was wonderful and patient, making every lesson enjoyable! I was a nervous learner and he helped me to stay positive and calm ultimately passing my test after a 6 year gap from lessons. I would highly recommend Farooq to anyone!

Biff is an excellent driving instructor, patient and calm, he has taken 2 of my children successfully through to passing their tests, highly recommended 👍

The teaching quality is amazing, helping you recognise mistakes and how to fix them to be a better and safer driver. I felt confident by the time I needed to take my test, helping me to pass but then also to become a safe driver by myself.

I passed first time with Anton Pal! I really enjoyed learning in automatic with Anton, his teaching, patience and encouragement throughout the entirety of my lessons gave me the boost I needed to pass my driving test today with flying colours! I really liked keeping track of my progress and making use of the resources that were available to me on the PassNGo website as I navigated learning this new life skill. I highly recommend PassNoGo as I have passed in no time! Thank you very much Anton for all your support your lessons have been invaluable! :)

I wanted to have driving lessons from a female instructor to which I sent an email to Jessica, a member of the Pass and Go team. She assured me that there were many female instructors available in my area. That assured me to book my first lesson through the website. However, 30 mins after I booked my lesson, I got put with a male instructor without me choosing and knowing. If I had known I would be put with a male instructor, I would not have booked the lesson in the first lesson. I then rang customer services who would not allow me to change to a female instructor and they wouldn't allow me to change the day either. They kept telling me that I had to have the first lesson with the male instructor before I could change to a female instructor. When I wanted to change my instructor, they told me I had to have my first lesson with him first before I could change. They also told me if I wanted to cancel, I would not get my money back and they also refused to give me another date with a female instructor.
Im not happy with this service as it a ripoff.

Could not rate Christopher Learmonth higher, helped me pass first time!! Chris was incredibly patient through out, incredbily knowledgeable and really clear with help and instructions, also just very friendly and fun, made driving lessons something to look forward to each week!!! Very thankful he was my instructor!!

I had Phil Howarth as my instructor and he was an excellent teacher, his patience is immaculate, he would go the extra mile for you so you achieve your goals. The absolute best. I highly recommend him. I finally passed my test!!!! The driving war is overrrrrr hehe

If you're in the Sunderland area and get an instructor called Graeme, just know you're in safe hands!

Down to earth guy, makes driving fun and makes the most out of your lessons. He'll always be honest with you without destroying your confidence and will push you to be better, which I really appreciated throughout each lesson. Don't shy away and be honest with him, and he'll gladly adapt the lessons to suit you.

Definitely lucked out having him as my instructor and 100% would not have passed first time without his guidance. Will miss the banter we had in each lesson.

My instructor Simon Doyle was amazing! I wasn’t confident when I first started lessons and Simon was really patient, motivating and helped me build my confidence. Always had a laugh on our lessons and couldn’t have had a better instructor! Highly recommend him!

I’m so happy to say I passed my driving test first time today, and I honestly couldn’t have done it without my incredible instructor David Horsley.
I had been trying to learn to drive for years and always struggled with nerves and anxiety, and never really felt ready before. David was incredibly patient, calm, and supportive from the very beginning. He really helped me manage my anxiety and taught me how to stay in control and confident while driving.
His teaching style made such a difference, everything was explained clearly, mistakes were never made to feel stressful, and he always encouraged me to believe in myself.
Thanks to his support, I finally built the confidence I needed and passed my test first time today, something I honestly didn’t think would ever happen.
I would highly recommend him to anyone learning to drive, especially if you struggle with nerves or confidence.

I couldn’t recommend Tanya more. After struggling with a previous instructor i swapped to Tanya, and within 6 weeks with her I passed! She made lessons so enjoyable and I learnt so much. Can’t thank her enough.
