The cake arrived when expected, a great start. Vegan chocolate fudge cake. But it is not even as nice as a decent vegan cake from a supermarket. More than £50 for what tastes like £10 worth of... See more

Black Forest Gateaux
Black Forest Gateaux
Great delivery. This was one of 3 cakes ordered for a birthday party. The Dubai cake and the Lemon and Blueberry cake were fantastic. We were, however, disappointed with the Black Forest Gateaux. It was more like a chocolate sponge with a bit of cream and a few chocolate curls. The most important element, cherries, were very few and far between, not even cherry jam and also no taste of Kirsch either. A couple of tweaks and it would be a superb review.
The cake I ordered for my daughters…
The cake I ordered for my daughters birthday was damaged and partially defrosted. It looked a complete mess. I certainly wouldn’t have eaten it as I was t sure it was safe to eat. I had to go out at 3.30pm on a Sunday to buy another cake. When I complained, I was offered a £20 voucher off another cake, which is laughable as I intend to never use them again!
Delicious and impressive strawberry gateau
I ordered a last-minute 8 inch strawberry gateau as a birthday cake for my young adult daughter.
I ordered it mid afternoon and it arrived on schedule (via DPD) the following day, in perfect condition (just needing a few hours to thaw out at room temperature).
It was a huge success. I'm extremely grateful. It's an impressive, tall cake and the flavours (strawberries, fresh cream, vanilla sponge and almonds) are absolutely delicious, working well together and almost universally popular. It has provided many portions of happy indulgence! (We served it along with generous quantities of fresh berries, which worked well.)
Thank you, Patisserie Valerie!
Fabulous carrot cake, very well packed & delivered on time
I ordered a delicious looking carrot cake for my husband’s birthday. The order process was quick & easy. The cake was delivered on the requested date and was delivered in the delivery slot I was given. It was packed incredibly well and arrived in perfect condition still frozen. The cake was delicious! I was very impressed with the product and service & will definitely use them again. Highly recommended
Waste of money for what you get
Waste of money for what you get, hardly anything for what you pay for. Cakes are tiny, box is same size as a sheet of A4 paper everything in miniature.
Would never buy again.
Before a critique of Patisserie…
Before a critique of Patisserie Valerie's CROFFLE - a fusion of croissant and waffle - I have to say that the new SIZZLING STACK which I ordered was delightful in every respect other than that it arrived, not sizzling but fairly luke-warm, very slightly over cooked and served with a knife that wasn't up to cutting the sourdough base; that said, very nice. The same certainly can't be said for the CROFFLE. The base was burned, not on one side but on both sides. When this was drawn to the attention of our server, we were advised that this is how they are meant to be! To add insult to injury, 12.5% service charge was already added to the bill with an invitation to raise an issue if we were not happy with this addition. We weren't happy but not disposed to make further comment, especially as we had waited 20 minutes for food delivery when only to other couples were eating in the restaurant. We've been many times to this outlet at The Mall, Cribbs Causeway but sadly this will be the last, I fear.
Cake damaged and upside down - worth a £10 token
Cake arrived by DPD upside down and rattled around so much that it slid off the board and the sides pitted through that you could see the cake underneath. What made it worse is that the box it arrived in was completely soaked through, water all over the cake and board making the icing and decorations run.
To top it off, when we went inside the cake, the water had caused the cake to become soggy, basically falling apart, and no one could even have a slice and ended up in the bin
I complained and was given so rubbish excuse and a £10 token to buy from them again. I won't be going near them at all.
Honestly, stay away - find a local CakeBox and spend half the money.
Shocking customer service!!
Shocking customer service!!
Agreed to give a partial refund for delivery of stale broken cake but have now just ignored me instead.
I ordered a Macaron Tower for my God…
I ordered a Macaron Tower for my God Daughters Wedding, eleven out of the 72 were damaged and not fit to be put on the tower, it was beyond embarrassing 😡. The packaging was extremely flimsy for transportation!!, when I complained via email ( pics as proof) the reply was slow and I was offered a measly £20 refund , the Tower was just short of £125 . Would never use Patisserie Valerie again … avoid 😡
So disappointing
So disappointing. Usually when you order a cake, it's for something special, and if you don't want your day ruined, I wouldn't recommend ordering from them. My cake was a mess when it arrived, and the extra "Happy Birthday" letter I ordered was all wet. I wouldn't recommend them.
Disappointing and very poor customer service.
The cake tasted ok, but the fact that I ordered the inscription "Happy Birthday, Bob" was not on it when delivered. It was just written on a piece of paper, but cost £5,95, What a joke. I kept the cake in its box until the big day, then saw no birthday wishes. What is the point of making birthday cakes and not adding 10p of icing and taking a full 30 seconds to write it out? Very, very disappointing, including no response from the company or offer of a refund. They just lost another new customer. Be warned..
Missing my macaroons very unhelpful…
Missing my macaroons very unhelpful customer services won’t order again sad to say
If I could leave a 0 star review
If I could leave a 0 star review, I would!
Cake arrived defrosted, lost most of its topping. Was for a 50th birthday party, looks like we’re off to M&S.
Tried to upload image, but seems not able to - think the Bake Off disasters!
Disappointing cake, poor experience!
The cake arrived damaged (for which Patisserie Valerie took little accountability - even when the couriers are appointed by them), the decoration on the cake was a different colour to the one online and the cake appeared to have been completed in a hurry with unclean lines. The drip lines on my item dripped to the bottom of the cake inelegantly, but in the online pictures they do not. Patisserie Valerie offered £10 voucher off a future cake - I don't plan to order another cake given the stress this has caused for my daughter's 18th party.
Buyer's beware - the response from customer service is that the there can be 'slight variations in design, colour and shape' - in my opinion these variations were not acceptable.
I ordered macarons to be delivered…
I ordered macarons to be delivered today on specific day for a special occasion and got notification from the courier that it was delayed and wont get here until the next day which is no use to me
Why take orders and offer a specific day if you can't fulfill that? Very disappointing and I wouldn't recommend them.
I went to place an order for a birthday…
I went to place an order for a birthday cake and brownies. It clearly states free shipping on orders over £65. My order came to £71.85. When I went to the checkout, it then added £15 for delivery. There was no way of removing the delivery so I did not go through with the order as I do not appreciate false advertising. It’s rather shameful.
Damaged cake
Ordered a cake for my son’s 5th birthday. When the cake arrived it was damaged and couldn’t be displayed for his birthday party. I had to replace it with another cake as this one was in such bad condition and he was really upset about it. I emailed to let them know and all that was offered was a £20 refund which I don’t think was good enough for a £65 cake. Won’t be using them again. Very disappointing.
Dirty damaged cake do not do refunds
They picked a damaged cake and instead of not using it they literally iced the personalised birthday message over the damage. It literally looked like it had been dropped and squished back together then sent it in a dirty damaged box. I emailed for a refund they said the damage is only worth £10 voucher to spend on a future order as it’s still usable!!! I emailed this wasn’t acceptable and was told in no uncertain terms that’s their policy and no refund will be given so I’m now £40 down with an inedible cake. Don’t bother.
Shocking Customer Service -Do not order…
Shocking Customer Service -Do not order from here!
I ordered a cake for my partners 30th birthday, I requested an inscription and added this to basket. The company failed to charge me for the inscription due to an apparent fault with their website, they made no attempt to inform me and yet confirmed the inscription via order confirmation.
On the day, the cake arrived plain and without personalisation. This was extremely disappointing. I was passed around to different customer service reps, even accused of never adding it to my order. The box the cake came in even stated it should have a personalised plaque!
I gave them the chance to rectify this and even send on the plaque through delivery as it was not needed until the next day. No response. They finally offered a £10 gift card, insulting to say the least. £70 spent on a cake that I could have bought from the supermarket with no personal touch whatsoever.
I have since requested proof that I hadn’t added this to basket, they are now ignoring my emails. The policy states that if a cake is not as described in confirmation, they will refund fully to the original payment method. This is a lie. Extremely unprofessional, slow and insulting customer service. You are better going to Asda and saving your money.
Cake wasn't stored correctly
Cake wasn't stored correctly, when delivered was melted and was thrown away. Macrons were also damaged in transit.
