The app is very easy to use, I love the colours that you use in the app to identify different choices - savings, charity donations, split payments etc.
Also the bell when you have a new payslip is brilliant!

The PayCaptain team are so friendly, accommodating and very helpful - they are a joy to work with. They have really innovative solutions and a real focus on financial wellbeing which is very refreshing.

Excellent support, have been with us since the beginning and payroll is never a stressful process. They are quick to respond to any queries, the online admin portal is good and the app and the offering for staff is excellent. Payslips are really clear and interactive for staff - also the plain numbers payslip option is really helpful. Charity donation through payroll is really easy and the emergency cash feature is a good benefit for staff. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend PayCaptain.

Implementation was great, guided through and the team were very helpful and responded quickly to all questions.

We have recently moved to PayCaptain after outgrowing our previous payroll company. The transition was seamless! Rebecca Lea our Implementation Specialist was and is incredible! So hopeful, we couldn't have asked for the transition to go any better! The team are also so quick to action any cases we raise! They really are the best!

We implemented paycaptain across two entities in 2025 and although there have been challenges the support from the team has been excellent, particularly since Joanna Goss took on our account!

Of course there are learnings from any implementation and Paycaptain probably took some key learnings forward on how to better implement their system for clients, however the system is very strong, integrates well with external systems and provides user friendly, easy access for our employees.

I would recommend them as a UK supplier.

We recently changed payroll providers to PayCaptain and we've had excellent communication flows with Laura and received prompt support from Lianne.

They've both been super helpful during the transition and the first rounds of payroll.

Lianne and Laura supported our on onboarding from Pento, and this was seemless. The team were superb, hands on when required and made the move easy. Further, the PayCaptain tool itself and the reporting function are excellent- we made the right decision in switching and appreciate the PayCaptain team for their support!

We’ve been using PayCaptain for several months now, and I can confidently say it has completely transformed the way we handle payroll. From day one, the onboarding process was great, there is a fair bit of work, but it is well worth it. The team was knowledgeable, supportive, and genuinely committed to making things easy for us.

The platform itself is intuitive and well-designed. It feels light-years ahead of what we were using. We had internal rota software with manual input to Sage, manual review, and then outsourced the payslip production. We were nervous about switching, but we’re so glad we did. Real-time insights, employee self-service features, and smart financial wellbeing tools have made a real difference to our team. People love being able to access their payslips on their phones, choose how they get paid, and even allocate part of their salary to savings or charity donations.

Customer support deserves a special mention. Every interaction has been fast, friendly, and efficient. You can tell everyone at PayCaptain genuinely cares about their customers and is passionate about making payroll something people actually want to engage with. We give our team a loyalty bonus which isn’t tied to pay and is standardised across every employee who qualifies, PayCaptain built us a specific metric which has worked without any issues since day one.

It’s rare to find a tech company that combines real innovation with a human touch. I’ll be honest and say that I am so tired of tech firms you can’t pick up the phone and speak to, some you can’t even email. PayCaptain gets that part right and their communication channels are faultless. I’d recommend them without hesitation to any business looking to modernise their payroll and put people at the centre of the process.

Very happy with the payroll service provided. Much better than our previous provider as they manage the payroll much more effectively which saves us a lot of time. Annabelle looks after us and responds quickly, which is very important for our hospitality business as our teams rely on quick responses.
