These survey systems are vulnerable to so much bias and abuse. Unhappy people enjoy complaining and could easily sabotage companies. In their current form they should not be allowed in my view.... See more

Absolutely useless. They just close a case with no opportunity to redress. The company sent out the goods, courier says they were delivered. This was not the case. The intermediate courier passes it... See more

So bad of them for not allowing some others countries apart from their selected companies, very bad service.

Rated 2 out of 5 stars

Their customer service; their ability to fairly and transparently resolve disputes; and easily accessing money paid on your account are now things of the past! It is a bother to deal with PayPal now.

Do not use PayPal

I have had to put a star but as everyone else has said they dont deserve that.
They are corrupt and assisting fraudsters to operate even when they know its a scam company as highlighted in comments they still pay them your money!
Im deleting my account as I didn't realise they were so inept or in the pockets of the criminals.
Aiding and Abetting fraudsters.

I used PayPal for a one off payment and was charged a full months subscription. Despite raising a dispute they closed the request saying I was correctly charged. How can you be correctly charged for something you haven't agreed to?

The company involved has a trust pilot rating of 1 star with everyone complaining about this scam but apparently being scammed is okay by PayPal.

Dispute process is useless

Dispute process is useless. Agents don't understand the reason for dispute even when you submit sjpporting documentation. Will be sure not to use PayPal going forward and will use a credit card going forward due to better dispute processes.

1 Star – PayPal Fails Buyers and Ignores Missing Items

I paid for an item through PayPal, but the retailer never delivered it. The tracking shows it was “delivered,” but there was no signature required, so I have no idea where it was left or who received it — it’s possible the driver took it themselves.
PayPal’s procedures took sidewith the retailer and refused to refund me. This is extremely frustrating and shows that PayPal often protects sellers instead of buyers.
I trusted PayPal for buyer protection, but in reality, I am left £149 out of pocket with no resolution. I cannot recommend using PayPal if you want your money actually protected.

Fraud by Paypal and Claritycheck…

Last month I accessed the Claritycheck website to find out who owned a phone number that was bothering me.
The service cost €0.50.
Some time later, I returned to the PayPal website and found that another €0.50 had been charged and that an authorization was in progress to charge me another €29.99. I blocked the authorization and removed my debit card from PayPal. I reported the situation to them and my complaint was closed within minutes.
A few weeks later, I found that, even without a card associated with my PayPal account, €29.99 had been withdrawn from my bank account.
I filed a complaint with Claritycheck, who asked for my personal data, including my card number. They repeated the same email about 7 times, until I got tired of trying to deal with them. I went to the website and canceled a supposed subscription that I never made.

I explained what happened to my bank and they cancelled my card.
I went to the police to file a complaint that I was a victim of fraud.
I went back to PayPal. I reopened a complaint. I attached the GNR (National Republican Guard) report. Their response today was: "We received a response from your merchant and we also analyzed all the details of your complaint. Based on the merchant's response and the information we have to date, we will have to reject your complaint. This decision was made because the merchant informed you of the dates on which you would be billed for this billing contract within the required period."
I reiterate that I never signed a billing contract, nor was I ever informed that I would be charged any amount.

PayPal complaint no.: PP-R-JRD-618197294

Update: After asking for help to my bank, Paypal changed it's replies and gave me back the money immediately.
Shame on this company. They abuse the little people and put they tail between their legs with the big guys.

Buyer Protection. What Buyer Protection?

Would have put 0 star if could. What happened with Buyer Protection as seem to side with fraudulent sellers (or is it Paypal themselves). Made one original order for an item supposingly on a 10 for 3 offer at £34.95. Instead got 2 emails through for different amounts £39.95 and £43.90 (for 3 of each). Tried immediately, within half an hour several times to cancel orders. Seller choee to ignore messsges but kept sending me other offers along with note of despath being delayed by a week due to high demand (nothing about my cancellation). Tried to contact Paypal who messaged couldnt do anything til item received/not received wouldnt let me cancel. First payments taken out (as made under pay over 3). All several other attempts of contacting company ignored or returned unanswered. Item received (not as ordered). Tried go put in claim for fraudulent 2nd charge together, if possible, for proportionate difference in order promised in ad to what received. Since this problem i have had other fraudulent attempts made through my Paypal account despite having changed password etc.

I have closed my PayPal account due to…

I have closed my PayPal account due to continued poor service and not taking into consideration my experiences with sellers where scams were concerned, and then settling on the side of the seller when it is blatantly obvious they are not honest....and NO recourse with PayPal when trying to get a reply from them....I have monies to be refunded to PP that I won on my own, and now that I've cancelled my account not certain how I will get my refunds - they seemed helpful at the start but I even discovered several auto accounts set up with them that I did not authorize....be careful....do NOT deal with PayPal!

Mixed feelings about this service

I have been with PayPal for many years. The reason for average stars concerns an activity I never authorized, and this company GDC Media was a scam (I found other complaints about it and I used as evidence), but instead of siding with me, PayPal ruled with said merchant, and refunded me out of goodwill? That made me so angry. I have had a few other issues but it usually is when on the phone to them. Every other dispute re transaction I raised, I did get money back, but sometimes I have had to get my bank fight PayPal. I once trusted PayPal implicitly, but since time, it has eroded especially because a lot of scammers imitating PayPal so one risks losing money because those merchants state you received goods or services even though you may not have e.g. GDC Media - who clearly state on website they do not deal with customers? Don't know how they get people's details), and instead of siding with the customer, PayPal believes the scamming merchant. I no longer try to pay through this system because I am unsure if something goes wrong, whether I will be covered. Once upon a time, I would have been absolutely sure I was safe, not now. I have been told by certain business people to close my PayPal account, but I use it for some limited transactions.

Every time my clients submit a payment…

Every time my clients submit a payment to me through PayPal, PayPal makes me submit documentation proving what the payment is for before they will release the money to me. When I set up the account, I already had to provide information about my business and the sort of transactions I would have. It is ridiculous that I have to jump through hoops to get the money that I've earned! Being this is their policy I will be done using this service!

money grabbers bad service and transparency

Very bad customer service became unreliable, lots of conflict and misinformation. Money grabbers trying to gain only for themselves. Lack of interest in customer, clarity, and transparency. Are not really worth the trouble, and if you like your money, stay away.

I just closed my Paypal account out of…

I just closed my Paypal account out of principle as they sided in favour of a company that scammed me. The company's name is Wellvia. I purchased from them in good faith a so called para cleanse assuming it was either FDA approved or UK approved as the ad was in English. However, the bottles arrived from China without a note or instructions. No way jose i am going to ingest a parasite cleanse from china! So i pesented my case to Paypal explaining this was a SCAM, as i came across other victims online who purchased the stuff and felt the very same way about the product. In the Ad which appeared on my feed there was no mention of the product being made in china. After Covid i am not taking any risks! I had also contacted the company via email to ask for a forwarding address to return the items and there has been no reply. Paypal sided with Wellvia and took no notice of the fact that they never said the product was being assembled and shipped from china. So i closed my account with PAYPAL because they are INCOMPETENT and they treated me unfairly! Their staff or rather their Lousy resolution team are unprofessional! Instead of caring about a client being scammed, they give you a hard time instead!

If I could give no stars or minus stars…

DO NOT USE PAYPAL!! If I could give no stars or minus stars that's what they would get!! They "claim" that they give buyer protection, but they lie - when you try to contact them it's almost impossible - there is no one in the united states to talk with only overseas staff, who don't necessarily speak English very well or don't understand it. They say they will help solve the problem and will call back but never do. If you do business with them you're taking your chance if anything goes wrong. You will not be protected!

Horrible customer service

Paypal is the absolute worse when it comes to getting help & customer service! They are never actually online to chat with you it's ALWAYS a long wait for anyone to reply to you, it is just horrible. They don't care if they take your money when it comes to crypto because basically it's your fault they don't even try to help you recover anything! They are absolutely horrible all together! Never again they don't care about their customers at all!
