Despicable!
Had my account with PayPal for 20 years and the final straw for me was they did not protect me against a service that was mis-described
I contacted them and they lied on a couple of separate phone calls
On asking for a manager to call me back, they said i'd get a call within 24 hours
48 hours later still no contact.
Closed my account and will never use them again.

over a month to review a dispute and then dont even bother to read the full story just take the sellers side !!

Awful thought it was safe to buy through this platform but it’s not! I returned items didn’t get a refund. They gave me 24 hours to give my info but took nearly a month to review it and then said I wouldn’t get a refund because it wasn’t faulty! Even though the items were returned id never use again!

I have bought products thinking they will give buyer proection but they just pick and choose.
Please do not trust them. I was not provided a refund despite showing receipts of returning the items.
I will be deleting my account as I dont trust they protect the buyers.

I made a purchase online of what I thought was a quality 3d statue of a picture I provided however when it arrived it was nothing more than a piece of 1D plastic which beared absolutely no resemblance to the item advertised when I tried to return it I was told they would not accept the return and offered 30% refund which I refused, after several emails my offer was reduced to a 10% refund. I believed I had taken insurance against fraudsters by paying via my PayPal account however when I explained the issue to Paypal they favoured this fraudulent company I was not only disappointed I was disgusted as I have used Paypal many many times believing they would protect me against this exact thing. How wrong was I ??

Paypal is a scammer! It suddenly decided to permanently limit my new account without any due process and thorough investigation after my first transaction! Now, Paypal is holding my money for 180 days and I'm not even sure if I'll get it back!!! Give me back my $80!!!

Don't use Paypal if you don't want to end up being scammed. Just look at poor reviews they get across different platforms, I should've checked Trustpilot earlier!

Purchased an item from a fragrance store online and it arrived okay. I wanted to send it back for a full refund as another family member had purchased the same item as a Xmas present for the same person.
Fragrance company didn’t respond to my emails asking for a returns process / address, so I went into one of their stores and they said they couldn’t issue a refund as the payment was made through PayPal and I’d have to go through them directly.
Assuming I’d be okay as I had payment protection I contacted PayPal only to be told I’d need to sort the issue myself as I’d received the fragrance without issue and this wouldn’t be covered under their buyer protection, even though I said I just simply wanted the details to return it for a full refund. I had to make a series of complaints before PayPal would honour a refund.
PayPal used to be excellent so what on earth has happened? A terrible experience and I simply don’t trust them with any of my transactions anymore. Closing the account.

Paypal is not doing its job properly. I received a delivery of a parcel that was delivered to the wrong address. Instead of investigating it, they refused to listen to my case and took £ 84.00 from my account. I am soon to be 80 years old, so I am going to close my account. I just can't afford to lose this money and not get my stuff.

Be careful, PayPal is very unreliable.

I have purchased over €3,000 worth of products from Charlotte Tilbury. I returned €950 worth of items that were broken or delivered late. Charlotte Tilbury confirmed that they received the returned items, but they did not refund my money.

PayPal said they would not get involved. PayPal is very unreliable.

From now on, I will only make purchases through Klarna. PayPal does not protect customers.

Worst Customer Service
My experience with PayPal has never been a smooth one. I was granted credit and for some reason I cannot use it to make purchases online. I have contacted the PayPal customer and they seem to have no clue what the problem is... I keep getting transferred to different departments and waiting so long on hold... after waiting more than 20mins just now while on call, they hung up.
Customer service is one of the worst for a big company... such a big disgrace, I wouldn't recommend it.

Paypal has stolen my money and will not return it. After setting up my bank account, my account says it will not activate until more information is provided, when selecting the link to provide more information, that is unavailable. I cannot even refund the transaction.

Stole 30$ from me I never got back.

I tried to commission an artist, they charged me double. Not only did I receive basically no help after MANY Phone calls but I also never managed to get my money back, AND they took it from the artist.

This is an insufferable company that I HATE.

PayPal has been fantastic to work with. I have had great success buying product on PayPal. I have had a few instances when the vendor fell short amd did not ship my order and after telling my story, after doing my part with the vendor bit to no avail.. pay pal refunds what I paid! Love this company

what a joke the paypal claims dept is, i just had a $175 refund claim for unshipped goods refused.
“We reviewed the claim(s) you filed on 2 November 2025. Unfortunately, we had to refuse your claim(s). The decision was made because you didn't provide the tracking details we requested”.

i submitted screenshots and correspondence on multiple occasions that showed there was no tracking number as it was never sent / item didn’t exist.
the idea paypal guarantees are there to protect the consumer are as scam also
the process is as big a joke as aliexpress

I brought a product through PayPal thinking they would have my back, however when I couldn't get a refund from the company for an unopened product I asked PayPal for help they closed the case with no help, zero trust in them, will not be using them again

the biggest mistake i made for the first time dealing with dispute for my item paypal take over 65 day for my solution but my bank will fix my problem with in 3 days only no wayyyyy after finish my dispute will close my paypal

My father has an awful experience with that company. Paypal had made dour transactions via Revolut in name of my father that was illegal, without his approval, only with his information for Revolut card. My father tried to notice Paypal and Revolut about this situation. From Paypal he didn’t recived any answer and from Revolut , they opened an invetigation and returned him one of the four transactions and the rest of them Revolut said that if my father doesn’t pay for them Revolut will open a penal case againt him and the question is way??? Way my father has to pay for transactions that Paypal made and Revolut approved without his consent!!!! In conclusion no Paypal and Revolut aren’t safe platforms to pay and they use illegal methods.

I get one dispute and they took all of my money rent money so now I’m homeless kids don’t get a Christmas and they hold it until April and it was just one dispute so I made a lot more because if I’m gonna go get a dispute for one and you can’t get my money back none of it the money that I got in our and the money that they owe me I don’t get it back until 120 days and that was my rent money and kids Christmas and everything and it all set me back and you know what they tell me thanks for doing business with us they’re so rude insensitive and need training I hope something really bad happens to PayPal cause they do not care about the customers
