We are fairly certain the CatMate C500 has saved our cat's life. Moses is 15 years old and has been loosing weight consistently the past 3 years. HIs fur quality was terrible. He typically threw up after every meal, no matter how small. His vet has recommended various prescription diets and offered helpful advice to no avail. Within three days of the CatMate C500 entering the picture, Moses learned the feeding schedule, stopped throwing up and is beginning to put on weight! As an added bonus, his fur seems thicker and shiner than before. He's had the PetMate for a month now. You'll typically find him waiting by the feeder 5 minutes before each scheduled feeding. (What a smart boy!!) We are so thankful for this product - initially purchased to reduce the workload on my mother-in-law when she cares for Moses in our absence. Thank you!

Bought a cat-mate elite, the first one didn't work at all so excellent customer service replaced it no problem. However, we've now had it replaced at least 3 times as it intermittently doesn't allow the cats out. And obviously they don't know to keep trying until it will open.
No problem with the company, just the product. Don't buy it!

Purchased the cat mate shell pet fountain i found it great love the fact its high up great product very happy with much better than my previous cat fountain that was constantly getting yucky due to my cats dropping their food in the water bowl and it was a pain to clean but not this one the shell cat fountain with it being high up my cats are not able to drop their food in to which i find extremely brilliant purchase also its good for the cats so they are not having to drink bending down to low with this fountain its the prefect height would recommend for a small dog as well and the refill filters are reasonable on their website for this pet fountain will be purchasing them soon

Customer service was diligent in finding me the correct product and making it accessible through on-line ordering. Only reason for not rating a 5 star is because it took multiple attempts.

Ordered a Christmas present for my cat on 12/05/19. They stated in their email that is would ship in 2-5 business days. It shipped on 12/17/19. Fed Ex returned it because apparently you have to sign for a $10.00 toy (ridiculous). When I emailed them to complain, they got smart with me and said Fed Ex has their own policy so it was not their fault. Maybe I would have gotten it if they had sent the product in the time frame they stated in the email. Very poor customer service. Shame on the business for blaming the package handler. If this company can't handle a Bradsdeal, then they need to discontinue offering one.

Product was an expensive cat flap which broke after a couple of years. Locking our cat in or out by itself. So impressed with the customer service team. We are so thankful that you replaced it for us in our time of need even though we hadn't registered it foolishly. Thank you so much. Our faith in humanity is restored 😊

We dropped and lost a part of our Fish Mate 3000 pump in our large pond. Phoned Pet Mate sales to see if we could buy a replacement part. Spoke to a very knowledgeable lady (Melanie?) and received the part free of charge the next day. Terry & Heather Candler

I have 2 Fishmate 4000 pond pumps, the last one bought within 3-4 years and need to service both by replacing the impellers. This is a simple and usually inexpensive job which I have done a couple of times over the years by purchasing the Fishmate impeller kits.
I now find that Fishmate have brought out new pump models and therefore discontinued supply of these service kits.
I now own 2 useless pumps which Fishmate are effectively forcing me to scrap in order to sell me their new models which will in turn become obsolete in a few years.
Hooray for Fishmate and their plan for the environment !!!!!!

Our pet mate super selective elite went faulty after a year, I raised a ticket and was promptly emailed by Melanie, she was very helpful finding my registration details as I had lost them. She quickly and professionally diagnosed my fault and sent me a replacement product in advance of sending the old one back. The return was also free to post Back!

Overall an excellent customer experience.

A word of advice to anyone thinking of buying a Fishmate filter.

DON'T !!

I have been using one for nearly 4 years now and I can report that it is badly designed, badly made, unreliable and potentially dangerous. It has failed in a big way three times. The first time was when the top of the bucket split and leaked water into the garden overnight, nearly running my pond dry. This is a known fault, as I discovered, when the manufacturer sent me a (free) replacement bucket, with redesigned, reinforced sides. The second failure was when the internal quartz tube developed a fine crack in the middle of one side, for absolutely no reason. Luckily, I noticed it during a routine cleaning session (you'll do lots of cleaning sessions if you buy a Fishmate!). Again, the manufacturer replaced under warranty, but you can imagine what would have happened if the split has resulted in the glass fracturing and squirting water all over the electrics. The third failure was when the start capacitor for the UV light inside the filter, literally exploded, taking the large choke transformer with it, leaving smouldering melted plastic. This failure was so violent that it fused our house electrics, even though the pond is protected by its own RCB. Imagine what would have happened to the food in our freezer with the house electrics completely fused, if we'd been away on holiday!

In terms of bad design, well I bought the Fishmate 45000, which is supposed to be able to handle a pond 4 times as big as mine, but the filters still need cleaning every two weeks - a filthy job, made harder by the filter's design. On top of that, the 'flushing out' filter cleaning system Fishmate are so proud of doesn't actually work properly unless you have a pump that generates a lot of pressure - if you have one of the new generation of eco pumps, forget it ! If you do manage a flush through, it will use an awful lot of water to remove not much dirt and (as others have noted) the flush through outlet will then leak. All in all, it's actually less hassle to just clean the filters manually, making the flush through feature completely redundant. Then there's the basket of biological material that falls apart, metal screws stripping the plastic they are screwed into (as others have noted) the foams that quickly disfigure and need replacing every year (that's just £65 for a set please) and the gasket seal to the top of the unit, which is one of the very worst designs I have ever encountered. In short, this product has been a complete disaster, only made worse by the fact that after your 3 year guarantee is up, the company will turn its back on you - I have just been told by them that they 'don't hold any electrical spares', so after its 3rd failure, my £400 filter is now deemed by them to be a complete write off, after under 4 years of use. So, to sum up, a totally unreliable product from an equally unreliable company. AVOID!
