Shocking. I paid through the nose for a service (at Hedge End). The car went in with perfectly legal tyres, but they claimed that it was out by 1mm and refused to deliver the car back to me. Their tyre prices were extortionate and they wanted £35 to fit a wiper blade that the said I needed (incidentally also only a few months old and cost £12 from Halfords)! I was interrupted constantly when trying to discuss the issue on the phone and told that they wouldn’t deliver it and unless I collected they would keep it over the bank holiday weekend. DO NOT USE PETER COOPER FOR YOUR SERVICE.
They have already told me that they will respond to this review by stating that the tyre was illegal, but at MOT very recently my trusted local garage told me that it was good for several months. I know who I believe. Even if that was so, it does not excuse the constant interruptions on the phone, nor the extortionate prices for all of the ‘extras’ that they deem necessary. This is very far from the ‘peace of mind’ that I signed up for.

Disappointing experience and poor diagnostic service.
I booked my car in with Peter Cooper VW (Hedge End) due to a clear drop in fuel economy and rough running. Despite obvious symptoms, I was told the car was “operating normally” because no fault codes were present.
The assessment felt superficial, with no real investigation or explanation. I later identified the issue myself, apparently a known VW problem, which raises questions about the quality of their diagnostics.
Although I wasn’t charged, I was advised to carry out additional work that another garage confirmed was unnecessary.
I raised a complaint but it was dismissed without any meaningful engagement. Overall, I did not feel valued as a customer.
I wouldn’t recommend paying main dealer prices here, look for a good independent specialist instead.
EDIT - my original review reflected my experience having already raised the level of service with Peter Cooper’s after sales manager, so the reply below is not helpful.

Awful.
Paid £99 deposit to go and look at/test drive a used VW Golf in Chichester branch.
Arrived, car on forecourt, windows open - looked around inside, absoutely reeked of polish or something - clearly trying to disguise bad smells as the car was filthy (the worst I've ever seen on a main dealer used vehicle - air vents clogged with horrible muck etc).
Took it for a drive anyway as I'd travelled but decided it wasn't for me - not only had the car clearly not been cared for/cleaned much by previous owner, turns out it was 6 months+ and 5k miles overdue on service. Also, despite being advertised as 2 previous owners I was told in showroom that it was 3. Was also told when queried the brakes that it hadn't been through the workshop yet, as well as not being cleaned. They'd had the car 2 weeks - how can it be advertised as an Approved Used VW in that state and with no workshop checks???
Anyway, here I am a week later still chasing daily for my deposit to be returned. Awful. Not even the courtesy to reply to my chase up emails nor return calls or call back when promised.
Put me off Peter Cooper and VW for life now.
(by way of context, I drove a Honda that wasn't quite right and got my deposit back within 1-2 days it having been dealt with immediately - that dealer also did what he said he would when he said he'd do it - I was never ignored).
