How ever did I manage to spend the best years of my life shredding and stripping corks with the conventional old cork screw. “Screw the cork screw” is what I now say. When I opened my first bottle of red with my new device I exclaimed, “ah-so” in my best put-on Japanese accent. “Ah-so” I said as the cork slid seamlessly from the bottle. I guess that’s how it got its name, theah-so cork puller.” Now I only buy wines with corks. It limits my choice but I look like a champion every time. Thank goodness for the Ah-so!
