Genuine love for the animals they work with
We had a fantastic experience and couldn’t be happier with the service. From start to finish the team were professional, helpful, and genuinely caring.
A special thank you to Claire, who provided brilliant service and made the whole process smooth and reassuring. It was clear that Bella and Teddy were in very good hands.
We truly appreciate the care and attention you gave them and would absolutely recommend your service to anyone needing pet transport.
Nothing but amazing!
We chose Pets Abroad to help with the transition of our Labrador Rosie from the UK to our new home in the UAE. From the very beginning of querying to the very end of having Rosie personally delivered to our front door the whole process was so smooth, stress-free and very simple. The whole team were fantastic! We were given a list of everything they needed from us before travel and from there they handled everything else for us. Rosie was collected from the house to stay with the team overnight and then the following day she was flown out. During the time we were without Rosie, Kimberley updated us with pictures of her and what she was up to / how she was doing. Once she was in the UAE we were updated of her arrival and within just a few hours she was personally dropped off by the agents who work along side Pets Abroad. We couldn’t be any more grateful for such a delightful service and would absolutely recommend Pets Abroad to anyone who are thinking of moving their beloved animals with them. Thank you all so much for everything you have done for us and for also making Rosie’s move as easy for her as possible!
Thank You Pets Abroad UK!
We worked with Pets Abroad UK with our UK leg of our dogs journey from Canada and I couldn't recommend them enough! Everyone we worked with (thank you Serena, James and Sam) were fantastic and we felt that our dog was cared for as if it was their own. They kept us updated with the status of customs and delivered him to us promptly after it was completed. They were a huge part of our dog settling in quickly. Thank you all for your help!!
Using Pets Abroad from London to Cyprus
We recently moved from the UK to Cyprus with our beagle and used Pets Abroad. They were great with communication and were very helpful at every stage of the process.
Their offices were easy to find and the staff, including the vet, were lovely with our beagle there. We felt that he was in very good hands.
I would highly recommend them.
This Company truly cares
This Company truly cares.
I’ve just emigrated to Thailand and my 3 cats and 1 dog arrived safe and sound today. I’ve no family so my Pets are my World. After speaking to a number of Businesses I decided to go with Pets Abroad and I’m so glad I did. They made everything very straightforward, answered all my questions (no matter how inane!) and kept me updated every step of the way. I can’t recommend them highly enough.
Caring staff
Caring staff, always ready to answer questions. My kitties arrived in Los Angeles from London safe and sound. Great service.
Moving humans internationally is complicated enough—but moving pets? That’s a whole next level!
We recently shipped our dog, Alfie, to New Zealand using this company, and our experience was great.
Andre was prompt and responsive from the start, and Melody patiently handled all our questions and final details, giving us confidence throughout the process. Even when we dropped Alfie off, Melody was friendly, and the team made a lot of fuss of him, which immediately put us at ease.
Whilst our move didn’t go perfectly on our end—our vets miscalculated the timing of his rabies shots, delaying our relocation, and my husband had to travel ahead eight weeks—Pets Abroad reassured us and supported us as best as possible, even when some factors were out of their hands.
The logistics involved are astonishing—coordinating with airlines, vets, quarantine facilities, customs authorities, and local handlers across multiple countries. Considering all the moving parts they have to manage, the team’s professionalism, patience, and care really stood out.
Of course, everyone’s experience with pet relocation is unique, but ours was overwhelmingly positive.
Thank you to the entire team for turning what could have been a nightmare into a smooth, worry-free journey for Alfie.
We are one happily reunited family in NZ thanks to you!
My experience with this company has…
My experience with this company has been very interesting. I have two dogs that I was flying from the UK to New Zealand. I started the process back in March and was promised it would be quite straightforward. I took the dogs in for the first check-up, and the process began. The dogs got the rabies shot just as we were about to leave. We had three weeks to go before we flew out, five kids to bring with us, an entire house to pack up, and two companies to close down while getting ready to move our whole family to the other side of the world. They then dropped a lovely bombshell on us: the dogs would have to wait six months before they could come home. I know this is the law, but it was not properly explained to us at the start. Now we had to wait an extra six months before our dogs could fly out, and we couldn't stay as we had already paid for our house in New Zealand and organized everything to be shipped the next day. This made panic stations kick in.
Going through listing after listing trying to find someone to watch our dogs at a price that we could afford was proving to be extremely difficult. We were quoted an extra £5,000 to watch our dogs, and we had no idea how we were going to find that money.
We eventually managed to find someone to watch our dogs, but this was putting a huge amount of stress on our family as I was going to be away from my boys, who are like our kids. Sadly, during this time, I was caught in a very bad explosion and suffered severe burns to my face and hand, requiring operations.
I missed a few emails while I was in the hospital, and the next thing I knew, my dogs were in the air coming home. I received emails threatening that my dogs would be refused entry into New Zealand if I didn't pay the extra money that I hadn't budgeted for.
There were extra fees added on top of extra fees that I wasn't even aware of, and now I was being forced to pay for something that I was unsure of.
So here I was with my dogs in the country, receiving emails from a pet transport company abroad that failed to do as they said they would.
They claimed that they would make sure my dogs, were never released, and would make it very hard for me to get them out.
High on morphine in a hospital bed, I had no idea what was happening and why I was being threatened by a company that was meant to care for my animals.
I sent some money to make sure that they were okay, but I still cannot understand why I was being treated like a criminal and how it was acceptable to bully me into doing as I was told. I don't condemn being bullied, I am not a fan of it.
No one should be, especially by a company that is about trust.
Let's face it, we trust these companies with our loved ones and hope that they get them home safely.
We don't ask them to hold them hostage and tell us that if we don't do as we're told, our pets will be put down or destroyed, or made sure they're not allowed out of the country.
Quite honestly, that's disgusting behavior and I don't condone it at all. I drove down to the place that was holding my dogs in quarantine, and they were incredibly understanding, very compassionate, and absolutely disgusted by the company that was doing this to us.
They said that the company has no right to hold our animals, as we have done nothing wrong, so, as predicted, they were acting like a bully towards us.
I would not recommend this company to anybody, not even my worst enemy.
Their attitudes are very desperate, and they have a lack of compassion for your situation or your pet.
Anyone who is willing to threaten harm to your animal should not be trusted. I'm now seeking legal advice on what my next move can be. I wish everyone a good day who reads this review.
Take care.
Amazing experience and service
Amazing experience and service. Driver was exceptional and helped my wife, our dog and I all the way through. Recommend this service.
The process of moving my dog to Iceland…
The process of moving my dog to Iceland was incredibly stressful, but Andre was so kind, understanding, and supportive throughout. Everything became very rushed toward the end, as the vet work was close to expiring — meaning we would have had to restart all the vaccinations and testing, which would’ve been both expensive and time-consuming.
Thankfully, Andre managed to secure the right flight for my dog, Diego, from London Heathrow to Keflavik in Reykjavik, Iceland, just in time. He was extremely helpful with all the paperwork required for the transport and stayed on top of communication with MAST and the veterinary services.
Honestly, I couldn’t recommend Pets Abroad enough. They made one of the most stressful situations so much easier. Huge thanks to Andre and the entire team for their help with this move!
Disappointing Experience – Lack of Transparency and Care
I used PatsAbroad UK for my cat's relocation and was very disappointed with the service. The invoice and the services provided did not match, and I was charged for crate training and a parasite treatment that were never carried out.
Though the company agreed to refund a boarding fee when they sent our cat back home as he was "too anxious", the amount was inconsistent — one colleague quoted a higher rate for a cat of the same weight staying at the pets hotel , while another quoted less.
The company also refused to accommodate our cat, claiming he was “too distressed,” without making any genuine attempt to calm or engage with him. A video from a receiving relocation company shows him as gentle and non-aggressive, which makes their assessment even more disappointing.
Overall, communication was unclear and the experience unnecessarily stressful. I wouldn’t recommend this company due to the lack of professionalism, transparency, and genuine care for animals.
Disappointed — Unprofessional and Dismissive Response
In my 36 years of life, I have NEVER felt compelled to write a review — not for a restaurant, hotel, or any service — until today. I’m writing this because I’ve just had one of the most disappointing experiences with a company I genuinely expected to trust during an important and emotional process: arranging travel for my beloved pet.
I reached out to Pets Abroad UK for guidance on relocating my small dog (4 years old, in perfect health) from my current location to Eastern Europe. I submitted their online quote form, which was quite brief and didn’t allow for much detail, so I expected to be contacted for further information or clarification. Instead, I received a one-line response:
“Hello, sorry we cannot assist to Eastern Europe or from [my location].”
That was it. No explanation, no attempt to understand the situation, no alternative suggestions — just a flat rejection.
I fully understand that not every company can cover every destination, and if that were the case here, that’s absolutely fine. But professionalism is about HOW you communicate, especially when dealing with something as sensitive and important as someone’s pet. A polite explanation, a reason, or even a simple referral to someone who could help would have made all the difference.
Unfortunately, this experience left me feeling dismissed and deeply disappointed. I reached out to a company I thought would show compassion and expertise but instead received what felt like an automated “no.” It’s a shame, because trust and empathy should be at the heart of any pet relocation service — and sadly, that was completely missing here.
Stress free and reassuring all the way
I shipped my dog from the United Kingdom to Australia on the 10th of June. I started the process in August of 2024. A fantastic experience all around.
I was considering shipping my dog myself, thinking that I would be able to manage the process, and realised just how intense a process it would be.
After getting in touch for a quote, Andre from the team was there at any time to answer and questions, preempting any details that might have been needed. There were some steps along the way in which there was some information missing, and combined with my vets, this was never an issue.
The required details was clear. I knew exactly what I needed to get, what I was going to the vets for, and what details Andre and the team needed. Again, all of these were detailed very explicitly and clearly.
Not at any point did I feel like I was missing any information or felt anything was going to go wrong. As someone who can be rather anxious this was huge for me.
The entire team at Pets Abroad showed just how professional and experienced the team is. For anyone who is looking at moving their pet abroad (my experience being from UK to Aus) I can only recommend the team over at Pets Abroad. A fantastic experience from beginning to end.
The worst service I have ever received
The worst service I have ever received, I worked for months getting documents to ship a dog, when getting all documents they could not provide information regarding flight stops or any information regarding the flight the dog was going to be on. All seemed legit until I started asking questions that they could not answer to, randomly told us one day “we don’t feel comfortable use someone else” all because they could not answer my questions regarding the flight. Would not trust, would not recommend!! Went with a different company and got everything sorted within 3 days!! Avoid this company at all costs all they care about is money.

Rude and Unhelpful
Given its a such a big move relocating your cat to Australia, I thought asking a few questions about the process via email would not be too much only for Andre to repeatedly copy and paste an email to me repeating information, that a layman would not understand without further explanation.
I merely asked some questions on how the process worked, a simple timeline essentially but no - essentially, refer to last email instead this time i will passively aggressively bold what was in the last email.
Compare that to PetAir UK who I spoke at length to Mandy on the phone who explained very clearly the process fully, each step and what we needed to do for my cat. The sort of guidance/advice I would expect if I am paying thousands to export my cat to the other side of the world.
PetsAbroad need to rethink their comms because they lost out on a customer.
Stay Far Away
An imports team is rude and does not do anything properly! All her emails say in my rush I missed this….if you commit to transport peoples furry family mistakes and poor communication are not acceptable! After using the service to bring my pets to the UK from the USA I found the whole process excessively expensive, poor communication from pets abroad and when you respond with an email displaying your stress you get one back that has numerous exclamation marks in it!!!!! Certain staff are also never available by phone and are off sick or out the office but when pushed suddenly appears on the phone. They did not manage to get my animals out on time blaming the USA government site and then added boarding fees, then did not check the paperwork was correct from the USA which then lead to a delay of over 5 hours after landing for my poor cats and dog. I would not recommend this company, I have suffered immense undue stress because of there lack of professionalism. On the day of there arrival her only communication was via email even though a surcharge was applied. No photos from their side either.

2 working cockers had the best experience moving to the UAE
Andre and his team here in the UK and in UAE provided the best possible transition for our two working cockers to Abu Dhabi. From
Initial enquiry to delivery to their new home we have received excellent advice, exemplary communication with regular updates. Nothing was too much trouble and I would recommend Pets Abroad to anyone wanting first class travel for their pets

I would not recommend
I would definitely not recommend this service to anybody and won't use the service again. It was apparent that there are several different people that were not communicating with one and other. They were making basic yet impactful mistakes such as almost booking our pet on a wrong flight even though all forms had been filled out correctly with no errors from our side at any time.
Our dog was a month late due to administration errors which PetsabroadUK attempted to blame the Australian quarantine center yet in an email that they CC'd us in we could see the email trail where PetsabroadUK had not responded to the quarantine centers request despite us chasing up multiple times.
They had not responded to us on a few occasions each time having a new person respond sometimes weeks even months late and seemingly not read or filed our case file.
Our journey with PetsAbroadUK started almost 9 months before our dog was due to fly and at multiple stages were asking what we could do, if there was anything we needed to do before hand etc. We almost had the same type of response IE "no don't worry we will let you know as we go along important things to get sorted". They forgot about many things that we only figured out ourselves had to be done such as multiple vet visits in the last few weeks leading up to her departure.
In conclusion, I would say that this company is poorly managed, not accountable and untrustworthy. In hindsight we would have been better off doing everything ourselves. We paid a lot of money for a service which I struggle to see the value in.
Not very communicative
We used Pets Abroad to send our labrador mix back to the US as we were moving back there ourselves. While the company successfully booked my dog’s flight and ensured her safe arrival, the lack of communication and professionalism throughout the process left me stressed and dissatisfied.
Relocating a pet is a complex process, and as a customer, I expected clear updates at every step. Basic information like confirmation that the flight had taken off, updates on any delays, or reassurances that my pet was settled in were completely absent. This level of communication should be standard for a service of this nature.
What made matters worse was the significant errors in my paperwork, despite multiple emails from me clarifying key details. The Airway Bill and Fit2Fly certificate included incorrect names and addresses, leading to unnecessary stress on the day of travel. This could have been avoided with a simple phone call to confirm the details before finalizing the paperwork.
Additionally, communication throughout the process was inconsistent. My emails often went unanswered or only partially addressed, and on the day of travel, I received no updates or callbacks to answer critical questions. One particularly frustrating interaction involved being rudely dismissed over the phone when trying to clarify vaccination requirements—something that should have been handled more professionally.
While I appreciate that my dog ultimately arrived safely, the overall experience was far from what I expected, especially given Pets Abroad’s higher service fees. It was particularly disappointing given the great experience I had with them as our customs broker when moving to the UK previously.
