Excellent company

Excellent communication throughout and I felt very well supported. Online assessment was followed by practical assessment. Martyn was very helpful with the implanting process.

Absolutely disgusted

Absolutely disgusted.
Vets warn owners about people like this.

I recieved an email like many others but this was about an animal that died a couple of years ago and had been legally registered with one of the government recognised pet chip sites - I removed her details after her death.

Deeply upset about this and would like to know where they got her details from.

DO NOT tell me you got them from searching data bases because her death was registered and the chip is inactive!

Warning to all other owners - this is a scam! They don't take much money from you but given the number of pet owners in this country every small amount will build up to many 100's of thousands.
Evil people playing on animal lovers.

I've read your reply and stand by my review.
The email you wrote to has never been used in relation to any of my animals chip registrations so, again, I want to know how you got my details.

Who sold my details to you?

The animal you wrote to me about is registered as inactive/deceased but when she was alive she was recorded with one of largest official sites.

It is your claim that is a sham and a phising exercise which many other reviewers have confirmed.

Hello Kathy,

Sorry to hear that.

Unfortunately, we are unable to see if a pet is deceased or not.

Our email is not a scam. We’ve been searching microchip numbers on Pet Chip Registry which is a fraudulent database with an open lookup system. If you received the email from us, it means that you’ve unfortunately registered your details on there and they are displayed if someone searches your pet’s microchip number. No DEFRA compliant database would display your details upon searching the number.

I recommend taking a look at our other reviews that are in support of our email. I understand the scepticism but please just take 5 minutes to take a look into Pet Chip Registry and maybe search your pet’s microchip number on their lookup (https://www.petchip.info/) where you will see all your details displayed.

I hope this helps, if you have any questions we will gladly assist in every way we can. Please email support@petscanner.com

Kind regards,

The PetScanner Team

UPDATE

Hello Kathy,

Please take a look at our 5* reviews for people who were notified of their details being on Pet Chip Registry and took the time to look into this further.

The microchip itself just holds the number, you can then register that number and your details wherever you like. You may have been registered on a DEFRA compliant database at the time but you also registered on Pet Chip Registry.

Please take a look at this trading standards article about the Pet Chip Registry scam - https://www.tradingstandards.uk/news-policy/news-room/2021/warning-about-unauthorised-pet-microchip-registry

In regards to how we got your details, if you search your pet's microchip number on https://www.petchip.info you will see all the details you registered publicly displayed.

Kind regards,

The PetScanner Team

Avoid - Misleading Email Touting For Business

I received an email saying my dog is registered on Pet Chip Registry, a fraudulent database which is not DEFRA compliant.

My dog has only ever been registered with Petlog which is managed by The Kennel Club and is compliant with DEFRA.

The Chartered Trading Standards Institute (CTSI) has issued a warning about a website called UK Pet Chip Registry back in 2021 (NOT Pet Chip Registry) - note it has UK before Pet Chip Registry - Search Trading Standards UK 2021 warning about unauthorised pet microchip registry

Pet Chip Registry is actually listed on the gov.uk website, which would suggest that they are legit - Search: gov.uk get your dog microchipped

So, I don't know how PetScanner got my name and my dog's name - from a data breach/purchased a list? But I would definitely look elsewhere, as it seems very underhanded that they're using this information to tout for business; whilst stating another website is fraudulent when clearly, from the government website, they haven't got their facts straight.

I would definitely Avoid.

Hello,

If you received an email from us then it means our system found your details on Pet Chip Registry. You can check this for yourself by searching your pet's microchip number on https://www.petchip.info

In regards to the DEFRA compliant database with a similar name, this is called Pet Chip Register not Pet Chip Registry.

Pet Chip Registry have changed their website name multiple times over the years from UK Pet Chip Registry to All Paws and now back to Pet Chip Registry.

We understand your scepticism but we are merely just spreading awareness of the Pet Chip Registry scam and making sure people get their pets properly registered on a DEFRA compliant database.

If you look at our recent reviews you will see some 5* reviews from people who have benefited from our email.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact support@petscanner.com

Pet registration

The company brought it to our attention that our pet hadn’t been registered on a government approved website. Customer service was very good. The manager Kieran, was very helpful and easy to get hold of. He helped me to sort this mess out and it was a weight off my shoulders. I am so grateful.

Hello Jo,

We understand you are sceptical about our email but we are merely trying to spread awareness of your details being registered on Pet Chip Registry, which is a fraudulent database. I recommend taking a look at our most recent positive reviews to see others who have been notified to see that our email is genuine.

PetScanner do not hold any information about your or your pet. Your details are held by Pet Chip Registry and we recommend emailing them directly and requesting your old details to be removed. You can contact them via this email address - support@petchip.info

I hope this clears things up, please do not hesitate to contact us on 02392 987260 or support@petscanner.com if you wish to discuss this further.

I received an e-mail from Pet Scanner…

I received an e-mail from Pet Scanner re a fraudulent microchip register. I thought it was a scam until I spoke with Malik and Kieran who were extremely helpful. I registered my horse on the fraudulent website without realising they advised me how to get the information removed. Pet Scanner is totally genuine and I will be checking my dogs. Thank you for bringing this to my attention.

Utter lowlife

Absolutely sick vile human beings who use my baby Rottweilers name too phish for sales.

I had a phishing email from these lowlife saying my baby Rottweiler who passed 3 years ago from cancer was listed on a non governmental site.

This company knows no levels of decency to how far they’d scrape in the gutter for sales . No compassion to your beloved animals, your just another sale

Hello Michael,

Sorry to hear that.

Our email is to raise awareness of the Pet Chip Registry scam, we have helped many get their pets properly registered elsewhere at no financial gain to ourselves. We have also helped others like yourself who's pet has passed get their details removed from the unsecure non-compliant site.

We recommend emailing them directly and requesting your old details to be removed. We have heard of positive results and they should action your request within 28 days. You can contact them via this email address - support@petchip.info

Firstly the first thing that came up…

Firstly the first thing that came up was a subscription for an animal I'd not chipped myself and believe me would not have used this brand had I known you charge monthly subscriptions. But secondly I think its ridiculous that there are so many chip companies out there, I've got 4 cats and 2 dogs and I've had so many animals before them. Some have the same chip brand and some don't, but I think all the chip brands should consulate, or be compatible with each other. If I move or need to update I've got to have some many bits of paper to tell me which dog or cat has which chip or I've got to remember so many different websites for those animals. Its ridiculous just in a bid to offer my dogs slightly more protection than a tag on their collar

Hello Sarah,

Sorry to hear that.

Our subscription service is an optional extra adding additional benefits exclusive to PetScanner. If you just wanted basic registration like the other databases, you can request to cancel the subscription by emailing cancel@petscanner.com and we will never charge you to update your details.

As the keeper, you can freely register your pet elsewhere. There is a common misconception that you must stay with the database that the microchip number has come from but that is incorrect. You could register all 6 of your pets with us for just £17.94 if you wanted just registration. Most other databases charge between the region of £12-£20 per pet.

If you'd like to discuss this further, please email support@petscanner.com or call us on 02392 987260.
