Petsmart Charges Shipping on Large Orders of Canned Goods

I did Autoship with Petsmart until today.
I am ending my business with this company. I regularly order over $70.00 of pet food per month with their Autoship service and they have never charged me shipping. This month they charge me shipping and their excuse was that they charge for canned goods, which they never did before. Their customer service is a joke. They never responded to my response when they gave me their lame excuse about charging shipping on a large Autoship order. They could careless about losing customers. The other ones like Chewy and Petco do not do this, so I have ended my business with PetSmart and set up Autoship with Chewy.

Puppy Training at Clive, Iowa with Lisa D.

My beagle puppy enrolled in Beginner, Intermediate and Advanced training at the Clive, Iowa PetSmart.
My trainer, Lisa D. is a honest to goodness dog whisperer. My dog would often do things for her that she wouldn’t do for me. She clearly demonstrates knowledge and experience. She’s super patient with both the dogs and the dog parents. I would highly recommend her as a trainer.
The issues I have with the training have nothing to do with Lisa. The down side has to do with the PetSmart facility and with the pace of the classes. If PetSmart has too many day camp campers or are running more than one training class at a time, your class might get booted out into the store and have to have class over by the grooming salon (which is open) and the medical center (which was closed during our Sunday classes) This may not happen on other days of the week, but it happened several times during my classes. The downside is, 1) It’s noisy so you can’t always hear the instructor 2) It’s in the store so shoppers are walking through your class 3) There are distracting sights and smells for your pet and 4) Customers interrupt your class and ask your trainer for help finding a product.
The other issue I have is the classes are too close together. This is partly my fault as I should have thought it through better. As soon as Beginner class is over, Intermediate starts the next week, and Advanced starts the week after that ends. My pup did just fine in Beginner and is really getting all the beginner concepts and commands down pat now. Only problem is, she’s in the Advanced class now. She is definitely a different pup than the crazy wild 7 month old that started Beginner class, but she’s not grasping any of the Advanced concepts and in fact is regressing in some ways. My advice would be to assess your dog’s advancement and your patience level before signing up for more than the two of you can handle.

Chanel the best at Petsmart

Chanel at the Petsmart location in Southfield on Telegraph is a Terrific employee!! She helped me get the fish that I wanted which was extremely hard to do. The fish were extremely fast and difficult to catch. She was patient, kind, and diligent all while keeping a positive attitude. Petsmart should be honored to have her as an employee. I'll continue to shop at Petsmart because of Chanel.

Never buy petsmart giftcard

Never buy petsmart giftcard. I received two PetSmart gift cards as a gift each had $100 on them. I went to go use them and they told me there was zero balance. They told me they were used in two different locations neither which I have been to. My suggestion, PetSmart is get a more secure gift card so people can’t hack into them.

I went to Petsmart today to purches a…

I went to Petsmart today to purches a fish for my aquarium. I could not find someone to help me, I went to the front of the store and asked the casher for assistance, he told me he would call someone. upon returning to the back of the store a young lady proceded to assist me. she than proceded to grill me of what my plans were for the fish. I think she thought I was going to fry the fish what an insult.

Than she called another person to assist me who asked many questions on where i had planned to keep the fish. I told her I have a 200 gal aquerium with other Koi in it. I do not see what reason that has any thing to do with the store.

The fish cost me nearly $40.00 there is no reason for them to grill me on what my plans were for the fish I was buying the fish and my 200 gal aquarium was far more suatable than the 7 gal aquarium they were keeping the fish in.

if Pet Smart is going to grill the custermers about where they are going to keep the fish than they should consider getting a proper tank to keep them in with in their store reather then grilling their custermers. This is a poor way to be selling Fish of any kind......

Same-day delivery

I ordered same day delivery yesterday actually which was 4/20, I did realize that it being Easter that they probably wouldn't bring it until today, the 21st.
Which was fine however, it was scheduled it was paid for I went online and I don't see any tracking. I don't see this, I don't see anything, as the morning goes by and it's getting closer to the time for delivery I reach out and call. PetSmart is blaming DoorDash which could be. Either way I processed it online through PetSmart online, they took my money, they did offer to refund which is fine. That doesn't help the situation and then she said she'd be more than happy to schedule a pickup so I could come and get it. What was the point of having it delivered if I was unable to get over there and pick it up? I did ask to speak to supervisor she said there wouldn't be one available to speak to me.. she did attempt to connect me to one and as she said there was no one available to help me.

Booked an appt for dog grooming

Booked an appt for dog grooming. What should have taken 2 hours was over 4 hours. The clipping was so incomplete I had to charge up my clippers and finish the job. Turns out PetSmart groomers must take all walk-ins, they are groomed first, while my dog waited in a cage.

They don’t ever should get one star for anything
I complained about my dog was in hair cut for almost 4 hours and al they did banded my dog from all pets mart locations Calgary, when I posted review ,instead to deal with situations
I contacted customer service and still issue was not resolve
Never ever received any compensation
Will not recommend pets mart grooming to anyone specially Southcentre location

CARELESS WITH CUSTOMER INFO

I had the same gmail account for approximately 16 years and could count on 1 hand the number of SPAM messages I received. In January 2025, I went in to Petsmart to get some items for my mother's dogs and they asked about the Rewards. I knew she had a card but when I provided her phone number, they said they needed an email for the account which I thought was odd. Stupidly I provided my gmail address, which is not connected to ANYTHING - I do not use this email for anything other than my phone service and calendar. I never considered that within 3 days of providing that, not only would I start getting dozens of messages a day from Petsmart, but I would also suddenly start getting pornographic spam messages. It is now approximately 2 1/2 months since I made that stupid mistake and I now average approximately 150 SPAM messages a day -75% of which are pornographic. Giving my email address to Petsmart was the only change I made - yet they deny it is connected. This company will not provide any details on what they have done with my personal information. I am going to have to deactivate that email. I will never set foot in this business again. If my elderly mother needs pet supplies - I'll get them somewhere else.

Going down hill

The app crashes and errors out for a different reason every time. Customer service says they will solve your problem and never get back to you. Or send you down a rabbit hole of transfer to another agent. The store employees, the older ones are super nice. But the younger employees keep asking random stupid questions. Like, scan my items take my money and let me leave please!

.....Petsmart employees and store managers are well known for animal abuse , as they regularly torture animals they sell and keep in their care!
.......Petsmart is also involved with "Marshall pet products"....a supplier who breeds Beagles for torture research facilities!
......Petsmart groomers are well known for abusing/killing dogs in their care!
....DO NOT SHOP AT PETSMART OR PETCO!!!!!!

PESTSMART? NEVER AGAIN !!!!

n December 2024 we signed up for a 12 week 2-part training course for our dog. He has some barking and obeying to command issues, so we thought this course would be helpful to him and us.

Alas! We picked the Rocklin location even though at 25miles away from us, because we were told the trainer Peter, was very experienced so we had hope. However, it all turned out to be a hoax for $200 on us. Every other week, there was a class cancellation for unclear reasons, probably just indolence on their part.

Fast forward to March 2025, our dog had only 4 classes out of 6 (first part) as advertised. Of course, it’s always ‘your problem’ if you’re not happy. They had ‘reasons’ why they had to cancel so many times, so ultimately, we had to ask for a refund on the remaining classes. Long story short, we had to be on the phone with the Rocklin store with a rude, condescending manager (Lorraine), who calls you ‘HON’, as well as their Customer Service office, for nearly 2 hours just so we can be refunded for half of what we’ve paid, but not for the 2 cancelled classes out of the (first part) 6 advertised. Unfortunately, they ‘couldn’t do the refund over the phone, sorry’ so we had to drive there again to be refunded… to the same credit card.

If you’re thinking of training your dog at Petsmart, don’t even think about it. Most classes will be cancelled by text at the last moment just as you’re driving to the store, as it happened to us a few times.

Also, they are not used to refunding people for cancelled classes, so sorry! Most likely we were among the very few who objected to being cheated out of our money, that’s why the ‘difficulty’ in issuing a simple credit card refund over the phone, (such an unheard-of transaction!)

Not only indifferent, indolent but also very rude people at Petsmart in Rocklin especially these days, when competition for business is fierce as there are so many choices everywhere else.

Petsmart? Never again!

Charged $166 for a 10 pound dogs haircut this week. Do not get dogs groomed here. Like to add as many extra charges as they can to scam you until it adds up to $166 for one small dogs haircut. Absolutely rip off

Don’t order anything from pet smart

If you order anything from pet smart, they automatically renew that once annually prescription (monthly)! They refuse to terminate the self serving situation. I was required to contest the charge. One year later ( dog passed) they renew again the unwanted prescription. Totally self serving and lack of accountability. Never again purchase anything from their pathetic unaccountable organization!

PetSmart grooming: dog traumatized and no communication

i've been bringing my dog to Petsmart grooming for the last two years since we got her as a puppy and never had an issue and then the last time that I brought her I noticed that they didn't grind her nails. I typically get the pedicure plus which includes grinding, which I thought was weird, but whatever the next time that I brought her in which is about a month apart, and they kept telling me that the grooming salon was closed or that they didn't have enough people, and that I needed to come back or wait in my car for a couple of hours until they could get someone in there and then I decided to reach out to customer service and call and they told me that was flagged for being behavioral due to safety reasons. I never was notified. This has been going on for the last two weeks now playing phone tag between the groomers and the management and customer service have yet to have them reach out to me. I am beyond fed up and on top of that whatever they did to get her to get her nails cut the last time absolutely traumatized my she pulls away. She had an accident on the floor, so regardless of whether or not she was behavioral they should have stopped in the middle of her grooming to tell me that she was unfit to be groomed instead of doing what Lord knows whatever they did to hold her down or whatever to get her to get her nails cut and now I have to deal traumatized dog playing phone tag with terrible groomers and no one will tell me what the hell is going on. Definitely do not recommend which sucks because again like I said, I've been going to them for the last two years. I guess they will be losing my business as well. Do not recommend. Do not go to Petsmart grooming.
Also not to mention they randomly close when online they have set hours. They're never open later than it seems like three or 4 o'clock online if I'm not mistaken is six or 7 o'clock at night which sucks because I Work til 3 PM so the fact that I have to call every single time before I bring my dog in there to figure out if they're actually open or not I hope corporate digs into this because something is going on and I hope that if there's anybody else out there that is dealing with something like this that they get looked into it for it because ultimately we are advocates for our dogs because they can't tell us what happened and what didn't happen I will not keep myself quiet and I will keep bringing this up.
