When the image generation works, it works fantastic and i haven't found another app that does as good of a job. However, over the past few days i have had endless errors and it constantly generates sp... See more

DO NOT BUY
DO NOT BUY. GET A DIFFERENT APP. Doesn't work properly after updates. Constantly updating, moving buttons around, without actually improving anything. Customer service is useless, just makes you jump through a bunch of hoops, them says the team is working on it and to wait several hours. Time is money, HUGE TIME WASTING APP. No response to request for compensation for when the app isn't working. Again... Do not buy this app.
Avoid. Subscription based tier pricing is ridiculous.
It’s very clear that key features of Photoroom have been restricted in a way that pushes users toward paying more, rather than improving the user experience.
Previously, these features were part of the standard app functionality and worked perfectly well. Now, essential tools are locked behind subscription tiers, making the app significantly less useful unless we spend more money.
Transparency and user trust are important, and this update has damaged both. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
I've been using it for 2 years, NO MORE.
I've been using it for 2 years now? I won't comment their recent bulk changes. The app just gradually becomes worse and worse, destorying picture quality, quite often not working, getting logged out mid session for whatever the reason. It was 5/5 back 2 years ago and now I just look for alternative, too much is too much.
Cancelled within the 7 day free trial yet charged
Cancelled within the 7 day free trial, no subscriptions active showing anywhere yet they’ve taken money from my account this month. Online chat responses at 2 days, will give 48 hours for a response then taking it further
We have been client since a few years
We have been client since a few years,
And now they have updated their limits of batches. Been tyring to contact them for a week and no response. Do not fall for this scam
I subscribed to Photoroom when there…
I subscribed to Photoroom when there were no credit limits, and everything worked as advertised. However, months later the company introduced a new AI credit system and applied it to existing subscribers, including me. This is extremely unfair and feels unethical. When I pay for a plan, I expect all features and limits to remain the same until the plan expires. Changing the system mid-subscription and forcing users to upgrade just to keep working is not acceptable.
The support agent admitted that when I bought my plan, there were no limits, yet now I am restricted and told to upgrade to an Ultra plan if I want to continue working. This feels like a legal loophole to charge more, and it genuinely comes across as a scammy practice. If I upgrade today and they introduce another new system tomorrow, will I be asked to pay again?
I shouldn’t have to suffer for changes introduced after my purchase. A subscription should honor the original terms until it ends. I hope the company reconsiders these policies because this is not the way to treat loyal paying customers.
Horrible Customer Service
1. I have had a Photoroom subscription for a few years, I have only ever imported, given the photos a white background then exported. I have zero interest in any of the AI capabilities but now a subscription that I have been paying $90 a year for and just a couple months ago paid $90 for this upcoming year is now going to cost me over $2500 per year to do what I’ve been doing all along at $90 per year. How is that justifiable? There has to be a way that users like me can keep doing what we’ve been doing and just have the AI features locked or don’t give us any credit towards them or however, you’re doing it now. But $90 to $2500 a year is absolutely ridiculous. (that is only if I pay a year in advance, monthly is even more expensive)
2. The new limitations are to batch EXPORTS only per everything I have read so I should still be able to batch IMPORT but it is not letting me. I am fully aware that I can only export one by one, but there has been nothing stating that there was a limit to batch importing.
3. I reached out to customer service and I’m still waiting to hear back.
4. Another big issue for me is that when I was doing batch, importing and exporting I could give limited access to my photos but now in order to do one photo at a time I have to get full access. That doesn’t make sense and is unacceptable. I should be able to give only access to the few hundred photos I need you to have access to at a time not the entire 12,000 in my library.
Photoroom is a scam
Photoroom is a scam. they have deliberately stolen money from me and you. From my experience with photoroom. I no exactly what everyone has been though. You are curious and take a look at it. Your told that you will not be charged if you don't want or like it. There's no way to cancel it. I tried. I thought I had. I got my visa statement. I disputed it. They still wouldn't back off. There's no phone to talk to anyone. I had to text talk to a computer.. I was told your to late to get a refund. Even though I linked proof documents screen shots. Of my visa bill. The screen shots of the accepted status that I had cancelled. I'm in the process of a class action lawsuit against them and need more people. Can you crushed shell beach at g mail . Com
Not usable anymore, crazy limits and prices
I used the app for years. Now in the middle on subscription year they put the limits on batches, even better my batch shut off in the middle of the batch, and I got the message “limit restart in December, which is was 2 weeks away. I had work to do, I was do frustrated. I checked new plans, and upgrades, it’s crazy!!! Now if I want same service ( still some limits) that I enjoyed for $90 a year I have to pay $900. What is this???? Just for background removal with the limits!!!! Change of terms for active subscribers just criminal. Looking for other options, Wrote to Castomer Service, got pre written “we have to…” “ it’s fair” crap back.
This company is 100% just after your…
This company is 100% just after your money. While the app is good the pricing structure suggests you get more than established market leading photograph editing software. Not the case, poor AI and very limited downloads unless you pay big dollars. new update and price structure has forced most loyal customers away. WARNING.
One of the most despicable customer…
One of the most despicable customer support teams I have ever dealt with. An amount of 34.79 was withdrawn the day before yesterday, after a year and a half of having their app canceled without any justification. I have not made any payments or used the app for a year and a half. I have been contacting them for two days without any result. The support team replied only once. I cannot cancel the subscription and I cannot get my money back. I hope they suffer paralysis and poverty for taking money unjustly. I will file a complaint against them with the U.S. Cyber Crimes Investigation because it is a vile app with the most despicable customer support.
used a loooot
used a loooot, paid every months 10 pounds. now they give us a limit for batch editing photos. its useless for me with that limits. bye, photoroom will never see my money again. thanks
Photoroom is playing Russian Roulette
What a horrible company Photoroom has become.
I use it for my business to just remove the background and edit background colour and now the entire app is useless for me since the latest batch limit update.
I had to switch to the MAX subscription which was already double the price and now they limited the amount of batch edits to 1500 for the MAX subscription🤣
Lmao what a dumb decision because I know changed to Pixelcut and will never return to Photoroom. Pixelcut does the deal for me just as fine and I didn't know about their existence if Photoroom team wasn't so utterly stupid to change their subscriptions to being useless.
Well done for ruining a fantastic app 👍
From Best App to Worst Overnight – A Complete Betrayal
I’ve used PhotoRoom for years and this used to be one of the very few apps that actually felt honest and user-friendly. It felt like a tool built for real people, not a corporate cash machine. I paid every month without complaint because the price was fair and the features were worth it.
But the direction this app has taken is shocking. Batch mode has been getting worse for a long time – broken edges, inconsistent results, missing options, fewer background removal settings, features removed without explanation. The updates have been constant downgrades. And still, I stayed. I gave them patience. I waited for improvements.
Instead, PhotoRoom has now done the one thing that destroys trust completely:
They took away the core feature we were already paying for and locked it behind a more expensive plan.
I’m on the “Max” plan – which should mean maximum usage – yet now I’m restricted to 1 500 exports per month. That’s not “Max.” That’s barely medium. For professional users, 1 500 images is nothing. And the worst part? Users who ONLY need simple background removal are now thrown into the same category as people doing advanced AI editing. Everyone is forced into the same limits, whether they use 1 feature or 10. How is that fair?
PhotoRoom used to market itself as a powerful, flexible tool with strong batch features and convenient background removal options. Many of us subscribed specifically because background removal in batch mode was reliable and unlimited. Suddenly changing the rules for loyal paying subscribers and pretending it’s an “improvement” is insulting.
What kind of app has the confidence to deliver worse batch mode, fewer features, lower quality, and then raise the price on top of that? How can a company remove essential tools, fail to fix long-standing issues, and then expect customers to pay more for less?
This is not a small adjustment. This is a complete betrayal of the user base that kept this app alive. If PhotoRoom wanted to lose the trust of long-time customers in one move, congratulations – they succeeded.
I’ve supported this app for years, recommended it, relied on it daily. But after this manipulative pricing shift and the ongoing downgrades to batch mode, I’m done. I refuse to keep paying for an app that punishes loyalty and worsens the experience while raising the price.
Unless PhotoRoom restores the previous batch benefits for existing subscribers, many of us will be moving to competitors – myself included.
Not as good as Gemini
I initially thought this app could make AI alterations like Gemini but it doesn't appear it can, so I tried to cancel my subscription. This wasn't easy, and I eventually got charged an annual fee. Disgruntled, I contacted the company requesting a refund, but only had a response from a bot, so I posted bad feedback. Within 10min I received a refund so I've altered my review. Thank you.
They changed the terms of the yearly…
They changed the terms of the yearly plan I paid for. I had to file a chargeback with my credit card company to get a refund because they refused to refund me. I had unlimited photos edits when I signed up. They changed it to 500 a month. Im fairly confident that changing terms Mid contract is illegal.
0 STARS AVOID!!!!!! STEAL YOUR MONEY
0 STARS AVOID!!!!!!
Free trial IS NOT FREE they steal money from your account and do not return any urgent emails. I have been trying to contact them for days and it’s just an AI agent that does not help!!!
Criminal Theft of millions of dollars
Criminal Theft of millions if dollars
Basically Photoroom has already done this once, taking people’s money and then refusing to provide the service that was paid for.
This is the second time they are doing this and it means myself and others like me are going to need to pay a different company for the service that we’ve already paid $90-$250 for.
Thousands of people have already had to give an additional $160 to keep the service they had already paid for and now it’s unclear how much money they’re going to be asking for.
Even more shady they are only accepting these additional payments through stripe and not doing it through either the Apple or Google store which I believe it is a breaking of the terms of service since they’re cutting these stores out of the revenue they are generating
Because this is happening hundreds of thousands of subscribers at the same time this is the theft of millions of dollars and Apple and Google need to do something about it. Companies like this need to get shut down hard and criminal charges need to be filed. Imagine if you paid Adobe in advance for your year long subscription to Photoshop and then they sent you an email saying they were only going to allow you to access the software twice a month. That is the equivalent of what is happening right now with Photoroom
Absolutely horrific
Absolutely horrific. App impossible to use. Cancelled many times, still being billed. No way to contact customer service. Shocking.
