Fatal mistake and poor labor boiler installation
I took an offer from Pilegaard-Henriksen A/S total VVS for a new boiler installation for my home and accepted it. Workers arrived around 9 o'clock in the morning and started to work. They finished the new boiler installation around 15:00 o'clock. I was at home during the installation. They informed me when they finished the installation. They fired up the boiler and performed measurement for gas amount. Then, they said me that everything is fine and showed me briefly how to use my new boiler and then left home. Then I started to check radiators at home but they were not even warm despite of 3 hours passed after the installation finished. In addition to this, the new boiler was producing too much noise. I could hear the noise of the boiler from the other side of home. I started to check the boiler frequently. Then I realized an annoying smell in the boiler area and called immediately the gas distribution company. They sent an expert my home in 30 mins. When the expert arrived my home around 21:00 o'clock, the first thing he realized was the noise of the boiler. He said that, the noise is not normal and the boiler did not burn properly. Then he performed a gas measurement. The gas measurement was indicating hundreds of times more carbondioxide-CO2 amount in the boiler area. It was really terrible. Then the expert stopped the boiler and removed the chimney of the boiler. He realized a broken part inside the chimney. The workers who did the installation had broken a part inside the chimney during installation. The broken part was blocking the carbondioxide-CO2 discharge outside and almost all poisoned gas was discharging inside our home. Then I called the owner of the company who I made all the deals before installation. He didn't answer my calls. I sent him messages and emails which explains the situation that we faced to. Meanwhile, I also called the number of the company and talked with a worker. I explained him the situation. He said me that he couldn't do anything at that time and he advised me to buy an electricity heater for the night. It was really a madding answer. Then the owner of the company started to reply my messages. I asked him to send a worker my home immediately to fix the issue. Finally, a worker arrived around 23:00 o'clock. The worker removed the chimney and tried to fix broken part with a nipper instead of installing a new one. When I asked him to install a new one, he said me that he didn't have a new one in the car and another worker will come again to install a new chimney next day. Then the expert of the gas distribution company also stated that the location of the chimney in the side wall of my home was wrong. The chimney had to be went out directly from the roof instead of side wall of home. Next day, workers arrived home around 9 o'clock again. This time they drilled my roof for chimney and installed a new chimney. The expert from gas distribution company supervised them during the installation. When the installation finished, they performed gas measurement and the results were checked also the gas distribution company expert and approved.
It was really a poor labour. The workers installed the chimney improperly which caused hundreds of times more carbondioxide-CO2 at home. The workers also drilled chimney hole wrong place.
It was a terrible situation for me, my wife and our 1,5 years old daughter. I realized the gas smell by luck. Otherwise, we couldn't wake up in the morning and passed away all together. I really cannot understand how this company can be authorized to get a gas boiler installation certificate in Denmark.
