Resolved Complaint
I had a complaint with a site who refused to resolve it satisfactorily. I then escalated it to Pitchup directly to seek resolution. This was dealt with Esther who investigated and resolved this very quickly. I greatly appreciated her help. In my company if we obtain positive Trustpilot reviews we are rewarded with vouchers. I think Pitchup should do the same too!

Don't trust the reviews on the site
Have used pitchup several times for trips, generally all has been good, but beware that there is no vetting process for the sites that they host, and if you leave an honest review about a site, the site owner will get it taken down anyway!
In my experience I got verbal abuse by a campsite owner over the phone for being a little later to my planned arrival so decided to forego the cost of the site and go elsewhere. I left a review stating this which was subsequently removed and when I questioned why my review was removed they basically called me a liar!

Please rest assured that we would never call a customer a liar. Reviews on Pitchup are very important to us, and we want them to reflect genuine guest experiences. All reviews are published straight away, but if a campsite objects, the review may be paused while we carefully investigate in line with the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority guidance.
We understand how frustrating it can be to have a review removed, especially when you’ve taken the time to share honest feedback. Even if a customer decides not to stay after arriving, their review is still considered valid. Only reviews from customers who don’t visit the site at all are not published.
We understand how disappointing this was and want to reassure you that your experience has been heard and considered within our process.

Never had an issue with booking a campsite through pitch up. Easy website to search and use. I would recommend.

1 star is too generous
1 star is too generous. AWFUL experience with pitch up - refusing to refund me for a two night stay which they had double booked. It ruined my holiday, and now I can’t afford another trip as they won’t refund me. They are blaming the campsite owner, whilst the campsite owner (who I contacted directly after getting no where with pitch up), said they were never paid for the booking (plus multiple other bookings!). I’ve had to dispute the payment with my bank, which I have NEVER had to do before with any company. Please avoid using pitch up!

We’re very sorry to hear about your experience. Pitchup is an online marketplace and all listing content, including availability, pricing, and accommodation types, is managed directly by each campsite or holiday park through their manager portal.
As your booking was paid in full, the funds were transferred directly to the campsite, and any refund can therefore only be issued by them. We have contacted the site multiple times and provided them with clear instructions on how to process your refund. While they have responded, they have unfortunately not taken the necessary action.
We completely understand how disappointing this has been, and appreciate that you have already raised this with your bank. We will continue to support where possible and cooperate fully with your bank to assist in resolving the dispute.
We also want to clarify the point regarding payments. When customers pay the balance, whether at the time of booking or later, funds are transferred directly to the campsite’s account. Campsites can view these transactions and remittance details at any time through their manager portal. For this reason, the statement that they were not paid for your booking (or others) is not accurate, and we will be following up with them directly to address this matter.
Laugharne View Caravan Site a winner
This is a great little site, in the peaceful surroundings of the Carmarthenshire coast. Very well set up, rustic and perfectly functional facilities that help create a great, relaxing feel. A site we'll be back to to continue our exploration of our beautiful Welsh coast.

Terrible experience
Terrible experience. After I made a reservation through Pitchup I had to realize that not only I was overcharged (compared to the fees on the actual campground), but they didn't have a simple campsite option which would have been enough for us. They also provide the wrong information about his to change your reservation!

To clarify, sites listed on Pitchup.com set their own rates, and booking through Pitchup should cost the same as booking direct. The deposit paid through Pitchup is not a booking fee but part of the overall cost of your stay. We also have a strict price-parity policy in place and take any concerns around this seriously.
For changes to bookings, these do need to be handled directly with the campsite, as they manage their own availability and policies, but our customer service team is always here if you’d like support along the way.
We’d really like the chance to put this right, so please do get in touch when you can.
Amazing Campsite!!

Anyone we caught eyes with said hi and was very friendly, we met a particular family, a woman and her son, who was pitched pretty much opposite and they was amazing, our son made a great friend and definitely made our stay much more enjoyable.
It was our first time camping as a family wasn't sure what to expect but we will without a doubt be returning
