It was an incredible experience
The Real South East Asia Encounter is a great way to explore three different countries, cultures, and projects. I enjoyed it a lot and would recommend doing it for longer than 6 weeks, only 2 weeks in each country felt like just enough to start being properly immersed!
Loved all three places! 100% recommend! Each place was very different and you had very different experiences, which I loved!
I spent 2 months volunteering with PMGY in Vietnam, Cambodia and Bali. Each location offered a truly unique and unforgettable experience. All of the staff at each location were so friendly and accommodating, their kindness and commitment made the experience so enjoyable. I chose the childcare projects in both Vietnam and Cambodia and it was such an amazing experience to be in an environment where there is so much enthusiasm from the children, the volunteers and the staff. And I chose the wildlife project in Bali which offered a completely different but also valuable experience. Additionally I am so grateful for all the time I spent with the other volunteers, I’ve made so many memories I will never forget. This was such a positive experience and I couldn’t recommend it more!
Volunteering in Vietnam, Cambodia, and Bali was a truly unique and unforgettable experience. Working with children in Vietnam and Cambodia was incredibly meaningful and gave me a deep insight into local life and culture. In Bali, the wildlife conservation work was inspiring and allowed me to contribute to protecting different species. Overall, the combination of cultural immersion, hands-on work, and meeting amazing people made this journey truly special. I highly recommend these programs to anyone looking for a meaningful and impactful adventure.
It was an absolute unforgettable experience. I hope one day to return to these countries.
Amazing experience!!
The encounter was a great way to experience each country and enjoyed how different each location and volunteering experience was. I felt fully immersed in the culture and made friends for life. I did 2 weeks in each country but I would 100% suggest doing more as it would’ve been nice to settle into each country and experience more outside of the volunteering.
My Real South East Asia encounter was incredible. Vietnam was my favourite country but only narrowly as Cambodia and Bali were thoroughly enjoyable also. I found the Cambodia volunteering the most enlightening and rewarding and I hopefully plan to return soon. It was the best 9 weeks of my life!
This new year I did Vietnam, Cambodia and Bali. And I never knew I would take so much away from from my time in Asia. My favorite country was Vietnam by far. Everything about Vietnam was exceptional. But the facilities in cambod And Bali were more comfortable. The pmgy staff make everything so easy. I rescheduled my tickets twice and it was so easy. I am definitely going to be doing another trip with pmgy next year. Thank you guys for being awesome

An amazing way to see South East Asia. It may seem a daunting location to visit alone, however this is not the case with PMGY. I couldn't have asked for a smoother, more rewarding adventure!

Unforgettable experience, made many friendships and memories along my 7 weeks volunteering.
This opportunity allowed me to experience a unique experience in South East Asia. It was wonderful to work with CSDS and Hope, the people there are absolutely amazing at making it feel like home. I got to see and learn so much about each country's culture.

My volunteer work in South East Asia was one of the best experience I made in my life. I did english teaching for one month in each country and I definitely went out of my comfort zone and grown above myself. I enjoyed my time in Vietnam and Cambodia! The projects, accommodation and the local support was amazing and couldn't be better! I'm thankful for all the experiences I was able to have made and all the kids i saw laughing. After I got to know what Volunteer work really means i struggled in Bali. Bali was different than the other volunteer places, which were amazing, and in my opinion too commercial and too many Volunteers which weren't needed. The online support is pretty good tho and very easy to e-mail the support with any kind of problems.
It was a life changing experience which I recommend to others who can afford it and are looking for structured volunteer work. First-time travelers too.
