The best experience.
I volunteered in Tanzania for four weeks on a childcare project, and it was honestly one of the most unforgettable experiences of my life. Every morning, I went to a nursery placement where I worked with children aged 2 to 6. Seeing all their smiles when we sang songs, played games, and introduced them to new activities was definitely one of my favourite parts of the experience. I also felt really well supported throughout my placement. All of the coordinators were always there to help, and one even came with me on my first day, which made me feel much more comfortable. They would also occasionally visit the placement to see how we were getting on. Outside of volunteering, I was able to experience so much of Tanzania. Some of my highlights were going on a three-day safari, visiting Zanzibar, seeing Kilimanjaro, going to the hot springs, and visiting a Maasai village. These experiences made the trip even more special and gave me the chance to experience the culture and beauty of Tanzania. The accommodation was also lovely. The house was beautiful and always kept really clean, and the mamas looked after us so well. I always felt safe and comfortable there. My biggest piece of advice for future volunteers would be to fully immerse yourself in the experience. Step outside of your comfort zone, say yes to new opportunities, and embrace the culture because it is truly special. The more open you are to trying new things, the more you will get out of your time there. Overall, I made incredible memories, met some lovely people, and had experiences I will never forget. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone thinking about volunteering in Tanzania!

It was very interesting to experience healthcare in a very different culture and environment. We were also able to spend time in local areas and go on exciting trips such as to near Kilimanjaro and a safari!

We were able to visit different schools. We could also visit a daycare for kids, even if we chose teaching. Was an amazing experience :)
I volunteered in Tanzania and it was a memorable experience that I would recommend to everyone. Travelling with PMGY is very safe: I felt accompanied all along the way and everything was well organized. The staff made me feel like home, comfortable, safe and welcomed. The local team was very supportive, and their positive energy made this journey remarkable. This experience has been incredibly enriching and has allowed me to grow both personally and as a human being. 3 weeks have passed so quickly! I was doing childcare in 2 different places (it was my wish to do 1 project in the morning and 1 in the afternoon – I loved it so much- instead of only 1 project). At the first place, I did most English teaching but with young kids (2-5 years old). I taught some basics (numbers, colors, letters) and I did fine and gross motor skill activities (puzzles, coloring, modeling clay, dance, ball games). I played outside a lot with the kids too. At the second place (baby to 4-5 years old), I got the chance to help feeding the babies and younger kids, changed diapers, put babies to sleep and play outside with the children. I didn't think my heart could overflow with so much love; but it did! It was sincerely a lifetime experience! The accommodation is VERY well maintained and so pretty! It’s the same as in the video on PMGY website: wow! I felt in vacation living there! As I was over 26 years old, I got the chance to get the private room which was soooo comfy! The Mamas’ breakfast and dinner were soooo good also! I really had a great time. During the evenings and the weekends, I joined a lot of trips/activities: sunset hike, cooking class, karaoke night, bonfire, 3 days safari (a must-do if you are heading to Africa), Materuni waterfalls hike, coffee experience, hot springs, Masai village, Masai market and more! I enjoyed every activity and it was well organized! All guides and staff were really kind and welcoming. I also made friends for life! So, I would say: don’t hesitate to subscribe and live the best journey of your life! Dreams are made to be lived! I promise, it is safe, incredible, well organized and beyond anything you can imagine!

I had an amazing experience teaching in Tanzania and would recommend it to anyone considering it. Everyone was so welcoming, friendly, and kind, which made me feel at home from the moment I arrived. The teaching experience was incredibly rewarding and gave me memories that I’ll always cherish. It was a fantastic opportunity to learn about the local culture while making a positive impact. I also went on a safari, which was absolutely incredible. The team helped organise everything, making the whole process easy and stress-free, so I could just enjoy the experience. Overall, it was a truly unforgettable trip, and I can’t wait to go back. I would highly recommend this experience to anyone looking for an adventure that is both meaningful and memorable.
