Plants plus garden centre

I’m autistic, but needed to buy some plants and large pots. I was with my PA but I’m not normally in garden centres and just wanted plants/shrubs that would flower in the winter and fill gaps in hedges. I felt I was lacking knowledge and was a bit overwhelmed. My PA found a member of staff who would help me. He came and I asked about snow drops and what other plants could I use. He was very honest and also when I bought the plants and pots he even went to drill a hole in the pots for me and put some broken pot in so it would be aerated and drain. That member of staff really was lovely. I said I would go back in the spring to try to buy plants that were vibrant colours. My PA was looking at budgies and he helped and advised her too. The animals for sale looked well cared for in clean environments
I think it was a bit on the pricey side but I was happy to pay it for the service I received. I have two gardens but I’m focusing on the front garden first and considering what to do with the back garden, maybe raised beds. I have some hidden physical disabilities so I tend to just want to go direct to places and I decide fairly quickly. I got lovely plants/ bushes for the mix of colours and hardiness. Excellent customer service. Good healthy plants.

First visit and very disappointed…

First visit to this garden centre and found it's not very disabled friendly in the indoor areas especially where the bird food is. I drive a mobility scooter and wanted to have a look at the sunflowers but found at the end of the isle where they were a "staff only" sign so couldn't get through on my scooter. I asked a member of staff if it was possible for me to go just past the "staff only"sign so that I could turn and come back down the isle to have a look at the sunflowers (I haven't had my scooter very long so wasn't confident in reversing back down the isle) the staff member said twice that I couldn't go past the sign. I was very disappointed in not being able to have a look at the sunflowers. I appreciate the sign is there for a reason but think she could have been more reasonable and helpful! Needless to say I won't be returning.

Great garden centre run efficiently

I’ve often been to this garden centre.

It is getting larger by the day.

Love the new pet department ., especially the fabyoulous parrot.

The food also great.

I find the staff all very pleasant in all departments.

Staff in restaurant very helpful always. I find the prices a bit high…. I suppose everywhere now the same.

New plant manager very good at his job very pleasant.

Don't even reply to complaints, is that legal?

Didn't even have the decency after two phone calls and then having to email a complaint to reply.

Purchased a seat with no instructions or fittings. I live 90mins away by car so contacted them by phone where the lady put me through to 'a manager'. They picked the phone up and immediately put it back on the hook cutting me off, so rude. Called back and a different lady took all my details and said they would get a manager to call me. Nothing. Put in an email complaint to the email address they say is for complaints on their website. Nothing.

I will not be returning, it sounds like you're losing more customers than just myself being a selfish uncaring business that don't have any after sales which means they are just in it for the money.

Worst restaurant ever?!?

Visited the Ponteland branch last weekend with family for a meal. Considering the temperature outside was in the mid 20’s centigrade not a single fan had been set up. The interior restaurant space was like an oven. How the staff coped I don’t know. The kitchen must have been unbearable. We tried sitting outside but none of the tables had parasols. Despite there being eight on display in the shop. Why not display them outside where they are going to be of some use? The six wooden gazebos, where some shade was offered, were fully occupied.
Then there’s the restaurant menu. What is it with places that dictate to the customer when they are able to order a breakfast? Why stop serving breakfast at 11.30? What possible explanation do you have for not being able to continue serving for the remainder of the day? You’ve got the ingredients, the pans, ovens and staff. And offering sandwiches, baked potatoes and paninis all with the same tired old ‘done to death’ fillings just screams a lack of imagination.
I miss the days when you could sit at a table and be served there by a competent person who could then find you immediately with your food. But no, here they ask us to go to the counter to order our food, carry it to the table ourselves or, in the case of cooked stuff, wait for someone who has no idea where we are sitting to blunder about trying to find a numbered wooden spoon while the food cools down.
So many places now think it’s a good idea to have the customer do the staffs job. Bring back table service.

Placed an order then I received a email that my order was cancelled that I didn't do. I tried contacting for a week or 2 until I finally spoke to someone named Ariel who assured me that my money would be refunded in 5-7 days but I never received and then they stopped responding

Let down badly

Ordered some bedding plants for a 91yr old lady who likes to keep her garden nice in memory of her husband Plants plus took the order on line and had all the plants in that I ordered for her and took payment. While she was waiting for delivery they rang me and said they had all been sold,, so this means although they were in when ordered and paid for they just sold them to someone else leaving this old lady upset. I call this double dealing. Will I shop with them when this pandemic is over absolutely NO CHANCE

Cannot fault them

Cannot fault them
They have just reopened for you to collect your order. It was so easy. No contact goods were left outside to collect with your order number on display. Thank you so much.

Incorrect stock information on site and terrible/non-existent customer service

I ordered some 'backdoor' shoes on 3 March as a present for a birthday on 10 March, knowing the recipient was keen on a particular style/design. On the PlantsPlus website it gives their delivery times as "most goods are normally dispatched within 1-4 working days."

On 8 March I received an email from them saying that they had just been informed by their supplier that they were out of stock of the required size (UK6) in the selected style, but that "they should have new supply at some point next week." It was disappointing to hear this as they had been showing as in stock on their website and if I had been told sooner after placing the order I could have arranged an alternative present, but I confirmed I would wait until the following week.

The following Thursday, 16 March, I sent an email asking if the item had been dispatched yet, in line with what I had been told. By the following Monday, 20 March, ten days after the birthday for which they were intended, I had still had no reply from them. However, this whole time the shoes had been showing as 'in stock' in all sizes.

I have since discovered they can be ordered direct from backdoorshoes at the same price but without the £3.95 delivery charge (although they actually do show them as out of stock on their site), so I emailed PlantsPlus again to request a refund as, by this time, I had no faith in them fulfilling the order. I received the refund a few days later, but throughout this entire time I received no apology for the mistake and no explanation as to the further delay.

I will certainly never use them again nor recommend them to anyone.

Fantastic Service

I sent in an email and my query was responded at 6:30PM I was shocked that anybpdy would be available at this time. The gentlemen was very helpful and give me the advice I needed.

Order was placed on the Monday morning and the item was received on Wednesday.

Very happy customer and will use these again.

Poor customer service

I placed an order for two Xmas decorations - the order was accepted but then no communication until 10 days later when my money was refunded by Paypal - still nothing from the company. I can only assume they accepted an order for something they did not have in stock, which meant I did not have the chance to buy them elsewhere . AT the least I would have expected an apology.
