Brilliant customer service!

Had some queries about the product and application, had great feedback and advice from Florrie in the customer service department, will continue to use this company. They are more than happy to answer any queries whether you have purchased the product or just inquiring.

Read the reviews before even thinking of buying this product.

Dont use this product - read the other reviews I wish I had. If you bond it on with their primer there is no going back and it is poor expensive substitute for real paint. Very poor service with no ownership of problems.
I bought pantone 123 (yellow) Plastidip in 2 x 750ml tins with their thinners, (dont use anything else) and glossifier.
I followed their instructions but was disappointed to find that the coverage was atrocious, and even after multiple coats as advised it dried a radically different shade close to Pantone 803 another shade they sell.
The tin neither has a pantone or RAL code marked on it just "yellow".
Customer Services told me that their their standard yellow is Pantone 123 but that Pantone has many shades.... this as many of you know is rubbish.
Then it was what type and size tip I used in my spray gun and what dilution.... so many reasons why it was my fault.
In conclusion awful pigment density wrong colour and poor company to do business with.
Cards on the table PayPal did not uphold my complaint but in revealing this you will know this is a fair review and I am being straightforward.

Reply from Plasti Dip

Hello Simon, Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are disappointed with the colour and finish of Plastidip Yellow. On 23/05/2022 our technical team sent you an email explaining the following: " As a general rule, light coloured pigments from most manufacturers such as Yellow can cause coverage issues especially over existing dark colours, I note you have applied over what appears to be dark grey. A transitional coat such as white when going from dark to lighter shades normally resolves this and makes the yellow in this instance cover easier and more Opaque. We have checked the batch of Yellow your order came from and advise this is up to specification. In response to your subsequent email the Daytona yellow is only available in Aerosol or 1 gal tubs of premixed sprayable, neither of which was part of your order." We continued to ask "what exact dilution you used and what spray gun and needle size was used as this can effect coverage?" in an attempt to help you resolve the issue but there was no response to this question. Another email was sent on the 27/05/2022 in which we suggested to "try and obtain a nearer match to your existing shade you provide us with the RAL “ classic” colour code that best matches the shade required and we can see if this can be made up for you to purchase under our bespoke range" and furthermore offered "As a gesture of goodwill we will provide at a special price if available." I hope this explains some of the issues addressed in your review and if you ever feel unsure about what products will suit your requirements and how best to apply them please contact us and we will advise any queries you have before you make your purchase.

Absolute waste of time and money

Absolute waste of time and money! Spent 2 days de chroming my car and re spraying wheels. I used the degreaser purchased from them and done everything the way the suggested. I also used a glossifier and sealent which as it states in their description will help durability, strength, abrasion and block resistance for ease of cleaning. It has done NONE of these things! After a day or so it, was cracking, bubbling, and lifting in places, I could have lived with that, putting it down to human error BUT the worst part is that after washing it, it looks like I've not touched it and the mud, bird poo, finger marks and other debris are embedded into the paint. Disgraceful product. Looks like I'll be spending more time and money peeling it off and getting it re done with real paint!

Appalling customer service - find a company that cares about its customers

I spoke to Plasti Dip before purchasing for advice on the best paint for use on plastic barrels. They told me that HCF was the one, so I purchased a 750 ml can of yellow HCF, thinners and primer for a cost of almost £50 including delivery.

The paint is not fit for purpose, even after 7 or 8 coats (and following their instructions) there is no depth of colour and the coverage is patchy. I complained to Plasti Dip who came up with various excuses but wouldn't admit that there was a problem with their product and just tried to get me to buy a different paint. Eventually they said they would send me a can of F-717 to try but then sent a different colour, so no use as I wanted yellow for a specific purpose. I asked if they would replace with yellow if I paid the return carriage for the can they sent me. They have not agreed to this and are now not responding to any emails.

They advertise a customer satisfaction guarantee - this is worthless. They also state they strive for 5 out of 5 star customer service. This is patently untrue. They are rude and aggressive on the phone, when you eventually get to speak to one of the management team, and, frankly, arrogant.

I have reported them to the ASA and Trading Standards.

Their website includes a feedback section. I left negative feedback on this, but it has not appeared after 2 weeks. It appears therefore that Plasti Dip also seek to cover up their failings and hide these from potential customers

Beware of this company unless you want to lose money

Stay away from these rogue traders

I recently encountered this company online, and regret making a purchase from them, having had a dreadful experience. Please do not part with your cash, as Plastidip is a completely untrustworthy and dishonest company. For some reason my rating of Plastidip is appearing as higher than I selected. I would give them a rating of 0 if that was an option.

I purchased a tube of vinyl adhesive through their website (Plastidip Vyna Bond, 29ml tube), and my order total came to £13.20. Before placing my order, I carefully read through the product description on their website. However, when I received the item, I was surprised to find that there were several serious health and safety warnings on the outer packaging, that were not disclosed in the product description on their website. The various warnings read:

WARNING: FLAMMABLE LIQUID AND VAPOR. VAPOR HARMFUL. MAY IRRITATE SKIN OR EYES.

WARNING: FLAMMABLE. VAPOR HARMFUL. HARMFUL OR FATAL IF SWALLOWED.

And most worryingly

WARNING: THIS PRODUCT CONTAINS A CHEMICAL KNOWN TO THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA TO CAUSE CANCER AND BIRTH DEFECTS, OR OTHER REPRODUCTIVE HARM.

I decided not to keep the product after seeing these warnings, e-mailing Plastidip straight away to notify them I would be returning the item, and why. I then returned it promptly, unopened and in the same condition in which I'd received it. A few days later, I was notified through Paypal that they had granted me a partial refund of £4, instead of the £13.20 I was owed (the cost of returning the item by recorded post was also at my own expense). They claimed they issued only a partial refund as the item had been opened and used, and was not in a saleable condition, so they had refunded just £4 as a 'goodwill gesture'.

This was utterly untrue and when I called Plastidip to query it, the phone was answered by a very discourteous man. When I explained what had happened and that the item was definitely returned unopened and unused, he persevered with the lie that it had been opened and used. He then put the phone down before the matter could be resolved. When I called Plastidip again, the same man answered, but attempted to change his voice, and claimed he was someone else, and had no idea what I was talking about. When I asked to know who I was talking to, he refused to give me his name, continuing to talk in a silly, high-pitched voice. He again put the phone down. It was simply bizarre.

I was astonished by Plastidip's dishonesty, and their sheer rudeness. If there was no wrongdoing on the part of Plastidip, then why did the person I spoke to refuse to give me his name, and feel the need to put on a fake voice to avoid talking to me?

Aside from withholding the money I was owed, and the time it took me to pursue the matter, I certainly find it concerning that they would sell a product that carries such serious health and safety warnings, and not even disclose the warnings before the point of sale. This is surely not in the best interests of the consumer, who should have access to this information before purchase. They have yet to respond to these safety concerns.

I had thought, since I had payed through Paypal, I would be protected against a rogue trader and would be able to recover my money. After following the procedure for opening a dispute, a refund was denied by Paypal, because according to them the purchased item does not meet the requirements to be 'significantly not as described'. Even so, I should have been entitled to a refund as I returned the product unopened and unused, but Paypal has not responded to this and gave only a vague explanation. Buyers should be aware that Paypal's so-called buyer protection is completely useless in cases like this, and should not be trusted.

I have since been in touch with Trading Standards, and they confirmed that Plastidip has not followed the normal safety guidelines that traders are required to follow. They are currently being investigated by Trading Standards. It is worth noting that the products sold by Plastidip are manufactured in the U.S, and they do not adhere to U.K safety guidelines.

Needless to say, I will not be buying anything from these rogue traders again, and do not recommend them to anyone.
