Highly recommend Jim Peddle at Playbook Advisory when selling a business. Jim is really professional and knows his stuff. The guidance he gave during the entire process was very helpful to me as a seller. My business sold for about 92% of the listing price which is where Jim said it would most likely sell. Finally, thanks also to Kaitlyn. She was so great at scheduling and managing the huge amount of documents in the data room.
After filing out and NDA which I did, I was then asked for my Linkedin profile and then a resume. I thought something seemed not right with this company. I have never been asked for this information from any other broker and think that your company may not be legitimate and may be just trying to get personal information from people. Did not return my call. Not very good beware!
The truth is that Jim Peddle only returned my call after I posted to his facebook page. I also have dates and times. When I returned his call he was ranting about the negative feedback I posted and told me I will be hearing from his lawyer. Since he is advertising an ecommerce business he should expect buyers from all parts of the country to reply not just those in Chicago. Also I promptly returned the NDA and was simply waiting for a basic profile.Instead I was then asked to provide a resume and my Linkedin profile, I was not asking for tax returns but basic information that I signed a non disclosure for, and was expecting to receive. Only after calling his office twice with no reply did I feel it was necessary to post on Facebook. I have never been asked for my resume after signing an NDA by any other business broker. This is not worth the hassle to me because I am serious, qualified buyer.
Jim did a great job selling my business. He has a hands on approach and doesn't push the work off to others like most business brokers. Jim and I had great ongoing communication regarding the process and status of the deal throughout. Within about 30 days I had the first offer and we closed with the first offer buyer rather quickly. I highly recommend Jim to anyone looking to sell their business.
