Josh and his team were fantastic…
Josh and his team were fantastic throughout the whole process. We were very anxious about the procedure and the four-month wait to get our new home from Davidsons, but they were always professional, supportive, and reassuring.

Will and his team were great in getting…
Will and his team were great in getting my contracts exchanged. They were always contactable and things were explained well for a first time buyer and this all being new to me. We managed to exchange contracts quickly and the process wasn’t stressful like I thought it would be, I exchanged 2 weeks before my exchange deadline with my developers. I used PLS Solicitors for a shared…
I used PLS Solicitors for a shared ownership purchase as they were recommended and I was advised that using them would make the process quicker and that I would receive a discount contribution.
Unfortunately my experience was disappointing. I initially received a quoted which was fine and with the discount contribution I expected the overall cost to be lower due to the contribution. However I had to pay the full quote upfront and then was told the contribution would be deducted for the FINAL bill which I was not even made aware of any final bill.
I also received an unexpected bill from the solicitors after completion due to a calculation error on their side. I felt this should have been explained and dealt with more clearly before completion.
The main issue for me was communication. I often felt that I was expected to understand the process and additional costs without them being properly explained. Having purchased a property before I found this experience very different from my previous one.
I appreciate that shared ownership can involve a lot of legal work but I would have valued clearer communication around costs and the process. Based on my experience I would personally choose my own solicitor rather than use a panel solicitor in future.
On a positive note the mortgage adviser I used through Censeo Financial was excellent. They were extremely helpful, professional and communicated everything clearly throughout the process.

A good experience
A good experience, no real issues. Much easier than other solicitors we used in the past and prices are in line with other conveyancing solicitors. Recommended by Miles and Barr, I believe this made the communication tidier and easier than if we had used an external company. The portal was useful as everything was in one place. 4/5 not 5/5 just because we were so far away everything was done via email and we never actually spoke to our solicitor on the telephone but this is a minor issue, not really an issue at all. I would recommend for 1st time buyers as it made it simpler and easier to understand.

Lucy Hubbard and her team - Amazing
We had great experience with Lucy Hubbard who dealt with our new build purchase and sale of our old house. She responded promptly and was always very friendly and courteous, and absolute credit to the company.
The reason for the 4 star review not 5 is because of another member of staff, Hassan Ali, who dealt with another part of our transaction, he was rude, to the point when things were going badly he said "oh well if it all falls through it falls through" just what you need to hear when you are going through what is an incredibly stressful situation, his communication was lacking, I would chase 2-3 times a day and only when I asked for it to be escalated to a manager did I then get a call back, and finally when we were getting somewhere he then refused to speak with me even though I had permission to!
If you get him as your solicitor, please ask for someone else or look elsewhere!

Wouldn't recommend
Unfortunately, I was extremely disappointed with the level of service we received. Communication was very slow, and on multiple occasions we were left without any updates and had to repeatedly chase for information ourselves.
Our completion date was pushed back twice, with updates often only being provided at the very last minute. Trying to contact the team by phone was also extremely difficult, as calls frequently went unanswered, and emails were not responded to promptly.
Buying a property is already a stressful process, but unfortunately, our experience with PLS made it 10 times more stressful than it needed to be.
Based on our experience, I personally would not choose to use PLS again and would be very hesitant to recommend their services to others.
