Slow service and poor communication on…
Slow service and poor communication on our conveyance as buyers. We paid double the normal rate and were promised a ‘priority’ service but it was just a sales pitch and they didn’t deliver on their promise. It was the most stressful experience and they tied themselves in knots with their own internal compliance requests which we had to go back on 3 times for separate requests to explain a gift, which filtered back to the seller’s solicitors and made them nervous that we didn’t have cash in place. Just find another solicitor charging half the price. They even made a mistake on the exchange of contexts missing out one of the title numbers we corrected them on. Partner on the file was on leave with no clear senior person instructed on our file to give us the priority service we were promised. Endless unanswered calls or emails. Yet when we complained we were fobbed off and they felt entitled to keep the full legal fee. I think a 50% refund for the lack of premium service was the minimum decent thing they could do. The junior solicitor we dealt with at the end of the exchange and completion process was the only person we feel worthy of any praise.

I was carrying out a number of ReMortgages and my solicitor dealing with this was Emily Brown and her team.
Absolutely atrocious Service, never bothered to answer her phone and her team were just rude and I would never put me through to her always stating that she was busy.
We were under a tight deadline, but Emily Brown did not care at all and took her sweet time often four or five days to reply to any emails while we were desperately trying to get things over the line.
This company is an absolute joke and I would strongly recommend never never going to them.
I am now in the process of taking legal action against them as their incompetency and extremely bad service cost me a lot.

Elinor and her colleagues were so prompt and efficient with regards to my settlement agreement. I’d highly recommend them.
STAY AWAY!!!!!Conveyancing negligence at its worst
STAY AWAY!!!!!Conveyancing negligence at its worst. Absolutely horrible and stressful experience with Emily Victoria Brown and her supervisor Cherry Riddelsdin. Someone should get her licence revoked to stop her from making her clients life a living hell. Lost £10,000 on my first house due to her lack of action in reviewing documents, liaising with the bank and committing to an an exchange date (you know, conveyancing basics!!). 6 months into the transactions she was still refusing to provide an exchange date because she couldn't be bothered to do her job! Will be taking legal action against this awful firm.
STAY AWAY from Emily and her team
Absolutely dreadful experience. What was promised hasn't been fulfilled. Instead of having our solicitor Emily they always fobbed us off with some trainee student whom couldn't answer any questions and always just told us that she pass a message both the trainee student and Emily herself were dismissive and arrogant when we just needed them to do what was promised. Communication non existent
They very nearly lost us our house we had purchased by auction by making errors and demanding document they have not needed.
Even the solicitors from the selling party told us that they have almost lost us the house by an hour trying to get document which was not even needed.
Extreme stress caused by such unprofessional behaviour we had never accounted before.
we paid over £2000 and it felt like Emily and her team were actively ignoring us and like if we are fighting them not that they are working for us.
Support with Compromise Settlement
The team were very knowledgeable and immediately acted on the poor compromise that I had been presented with. They tightened up the agreement and communicated with the company on my behalf.
They maintained regular contact with me throughout the process and in total it took 5 days for the agreement to be settled with a good outcome for me personally.
I would strongly recommend their services. They were friendly and gave good advice and guidance at what was a very difficult time for me.
Did exactly what I needed
I found the service and advice offered to be clear concisely and just what I needed. So much so, that I recommended Poole Alcock to my partner when they were recently made redundant. Need I say more?
Tim Edgley Advice Call
Tim was very helpful in providing me with some initial information on what my rights are as a father during seperation/divorce and what the next steps would be should I require the services of Poole Alcock to begin mediation or obtaining a legal shared parenting agreement.

Tim gave me concise advice but with a very human feeling, and by that I mean that he went beyond what I hoped for but rather than being cold, it all felt almost empathetic. I finished the call with the most positive feelings I've had in years. Thank you so much Tim.

My consultation with Tim Edgeley regarding completion of my divorce and financial remedy was clear, precise and professional. My options were outlined enabling me to have clarity on how to conclude my marriage with the minimum fuss and expense. For the first time in over 4 years, I can now clearly see the finishing line.

I can’t recommend Tim highly enough
I can’t recommend Tim highly enough. Going through a divorce can feel overwhelming, but his advice on how to get started and what to expect in terms of costs was really helpful.
He broke everything down in a clear, straightforward way, which made the process feel much more manageable. I really appreciated how transparent he was about fees from the outset—it gave me confidence and helped me plan properly.
Tim was professional, approachable, and genuinely supportive. If you’re looking for a family lawyer who gives honest, practical guidance and takes the time to explain things clearly, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend him.
