Do not book any stay with Portofino Playa. This property operator is highly dishonest, aggressive, and uses illegal retaliation tactics against its guests.
Upon arrival at the apartment (Booking Ref: 6063747968), we were shocked by the lack of maintenance and structural dirt. Most importantly, one of the main windows was heavily cracked—a severe safety hazard—the electric roller shutters were mechanically broken, and the sofa bed was broken and filthy.
After we documented these pre-existing defects with photographic evidence, the host completely turned on us. Instead of addressing the issues, they are now actively abusing the Booking.com communication channels to blackmail and intimidate me and my partner. They are demanding an illegal direct payment of €439.83 outside the platform and have threatened us with police action in a desperate attempt to steal our €299.00 security deposit.
Booking.com has been formally notified of this host's fraudulent behavior, harassment, and extortion. Save yourself the extreme stress and stay far away from Portofino Playa. A completely disgraceful and unsafe experience.
