It provides very limited support to the palm, really its just a wrist support, I've haven't got overly large hands, but my hand with mouse, went over the top of the pad, in other words it was too short & compared with my old support mat, it wasn't as wide. Seems like skimming on size. I wouldn't buy this product and I have returned it for a replacement
