I had the misfortune of staying two nights at Premier Inn at Weymouth Gateway. It was during a hot period 26th - 27th Jun while I attended Tankfest 2026. The aircon didnt work at all and it was 29c at night in the room, when i complained I was told as it wasnt an emergency they couldnt get an engineer out. I was offered a fan but it was next to useless leading to two nights of very bad sleep. I have since discovered since returning home that Premiere Inn set Aircon to not be set less than 19c to save on energy!! ~Dont book Premiere if you think it will be hot during your stay. Apart from this the staff were very apologetic and helpful, unfortunately they were held back by company policy where money is more important than the paying customers comfort, very disappointed.

ISLE OF WIGHT NEWPORT AVOID THIS HOTEL

We stayed at the Newport hotel (Isle of Wight) last week when the weather was very hot. They provided a fan but that's where it stops The fan was attached to the wall so only moved so far, did not cover the entire bed and was, quite frankly, useless. We had literally no sleep for the whole week as the nights were so hot we were dripping wet and just couldn't get comfortable. This was completely unacceptable and for a hotel that offers a good night sleep guarantee, should do better. Although that "slogan" is quite frankly, just that a "slogan". There get out clause includes the weather!!! We were spending more time in the Beefeater next door than we wanted trying to avoid going back to the hotel as they had a/c and it was lovely in there. We complained to the staff but there isn't anything they can do, they have themselves made numerous complaints to the head office but are just ignored. I felt sorry for the cleaning staff who should not be working in those conditions, it is all unacceptable. Also, we had to swap rooms with my father who is 91 as he was given our room on the first floor (even though I requested before we arrived, a ground floor) as the first floor was so hot it was completely unsuitable for him and could have caused him medical issues. My husband came back one day and had forgotten his key and asked for a spare, he was asked for no ID just his room number which he gave and was given a key, even though that was originally my fathers room and we had not informed anyone we had swapped! There was a complete security breach there which has been flagged in another hotel chain, obviously, lessons have not been learnt! As far as I'm concerned, all Premier Inn want is your money, they do not care about their guests in any way . If I can give you one piece of advice or if you just take my advice, DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL. There are plenty of other hotels on the island that I'm sure have air conditioning and are interested in looking after their guests properly. What is sad is that this hotel is in a beautiful location and our room over looked the river which was beautiful but sadly, this hotel is a disgrace and our holiday was completely ruined because of it.

The Ryanair of hotels and proud of it

As hotels go price wise they are probably the cheapest and if you're staying for one night in stay Dublin north docklands that's great but that's sadly where it ends. If you arrive early by half an hour before the 3pm check in time then expect to wait because it was 4pm by the time I got to my room, the manager was there at 2:30pm beforehand as i spoke to her and her attitude wasn't friendly at all, by the time check started she had disappeared leaving only 2 staff to check in about 100 people, the check in service is really slow ,they try to sell you breakfast, dinner etc please just gimme the keys, secondly if you're staying for more than 1 night don't expect you're room to be cleaned, i stayed for 3 nights each morning i requested a room clean and everytime we arrived back to our room in the evening it wasn't done, thirdly I arrived back at 11:02pm one night after a concert and asked for a bag of dry roasted peanuts and the guy at the bar couldn't service me as it was too late after the curfew time of 11pm, its like they offer so many services to you but only on their terms, basically Premier inn are the Ryanair of hotels, grand for a night but don't expect extras ever

Beware - do not get a room with an adjoining door

Beware you do not get a room with a door to the adjoining room (unless you need it), as the acoustics through the door are terrible.
This happened to us recently. We made the booking at the Premier Inn Gatwick North in February 26 for 1 night’s stay in June.
Neither at the time of the booking, nor when we checked in, were we told we had a room with an adjoining door. Little did we know the acoustics would be so bad. We were woken at 3am by our neighbour’s alarm, and then heard every word and movement as they got up / washed / dressed.
I wrote to Premier Inn, who took no responsibility whatsoever for putting us in a room with an adjoining door when we had not asked for it, nor for the atrocious acoustics. They state their policy is that we should have told someone at 3am, not afterwards. So because I did not get out of bed at 3am, read the details of the policy on my booking, go down to Reception and complain, and either have the Receptionist tell the people to be quiet (horse bolted), or have us move to another room, they were not obliged to do anything about it.
Lesson of this - be prepared to have a ruined night’s sleep in that type of room, and for Premier Inn to take no responsibility.

Wouldn’t revisit

Kew Bridge - Staff lovely and helpful. The room however not so much.
Chair had a suspicious stain on it, whilst the toilet seat had been cleaned there were multiple wee drip marks all down the front of the bowl and gathered round the base on the floor and the deadlock didn’t work so I had to put a chair underneath the door handle.

Wowzers!

Wow! What a great stay, spent two nights at the Premier Inn at Swan Street Northampton, booked a double room and an accessible room. The cleanliness was top notch! The beds were comfortable, and the soft linen like sleeping on a cloud! Thry had extra pillows available for those who prefer more! Provided fresh towels on our 2nd night stay. The staff were friendly, professional and accommodating. In particular KP and Natalie made our stay really special. They went above and beyond to make us feel like guest Royalty. My sister was looking after me post operation and the staff could see i was in discomfort and waited on me hand and foot, checking in on me, reserving a sofa so I could watch the football with a great view. Nothing was too much. The staff deserve a commendation for their hard work and great efforts. Thank you for your professionalism and a wonderful stay! Much appreciated.

Premier inn are usually convenient located, with availability for easy food. I booked derby south for it's proximity to the hospital, which we had been at for hours visiting a really poorly relative. After a long day, needed food, a drink, and bed before returning to hospital. Upon arrival, pub closed for refurb. Asked to be swapped to another hotel, was told we would have to phone, and given a closed number. Tried online, but chat room closed. Told if we want food, there's a chippy 2 miles away. Appalling service.

Canning Town visit

Stayed overnight after a show at the O2. Ideal location just outside of Canning town station. Friendly staff and good sized room. Premier Plus room meant good drink facilities. Bed was very comfortable and bathroom was good sized. Only downside was walls could have done with an extra clean as a few dirty marks. Actual toilet and bath were clean though. Temp in room could also be controlled which was handy.
Would recommend especially if going to event a o2.sainsburys local almost next door and. Macdonald's opposite the station

In November last year we stayed at the…

In November last year we stayed at the Hinckley premier inn. It was one of several stays, but we were attending a family funeral at the time which made the matter worse. After complaining twice about the awful room we stayed in, and not having any response or acknowledgement, it's fair to expose the state of the place. Our room upon entry had a very stained carpet. There were stains on the ceiling, and paint missing on the wall. It was beyond tired. The bathroom was very shabby and very well used. It was a sombre enough occasion without becoming more dismal because of poor maintenance. 2 written complaints were sent in, one a few days after the funeral to guest relations, to mo avail, and another one in Spring. I received an email that it was investigated and someone would get back to me. That never happened! Seven months have passed, and so has my desire to ever stay with them again. They have turned out to be a major disappointment who have zero consideration for basic standards of hygiene and decor. Maybe this review will get their attention, but I seriously doubt it. Avoid Hinckley if possible. It's old and scruffy!

Reserved the Premier Inn in Farnborough…

Reserved the Premier Inn in Farnborough over one night to break my journey to Southampton to catch a cruise. Arrived and guy at reception was quick to book me in and hand me room card, aswell as being welcoming.

Room was usual standard for Premier Inn and what i expected. A nice touch was that the room had a relatively powerful fan which was already on and cooling the room as I entered. Not being led by the advertising but I do always sleep well in a Premier Inn - comfortable bed/pillow.

All good. The only reason I've not marked a five is that the connected restuarant was closing for evening meals early evening, which gave me no time, and that restuarant only had the breakfast choice of 'all you can eat buffet (hot and cold) for £11. I only wanted a small breakfast with a cuppa but had to pay the full £11 to have anything. (I appreciate the restuart is not owned by Premier Inn but it still is there for Premier Inn clients so is connected directly)

I booked out and left within 30 minutes of arriving it was so bad.

I booked out and left within 30 minutes of arriving it was so bad.

They will not let you know of serious issues there when you make your booking, you will just get the unpleasant surprise when you arrive.

It was all so easy booking the stay and giving them several hundred pounds. Alas I couldn't even get near the hotel as all the roads were closed by a cycle event. So I ended up leaving my car stranded a mile away, carrying several bags and when I arrived at the Premier Inn, I found that they obviously had known about the cycle event and Road Closures (and hence Car Park Unavailability) for several weeks (maybe months). Yet was this mentioned or was I informed when they wanted my money off me? Hell no.

It was a multi day Cycle Event and I simply could not leave my car parked randomly in a street, far too expensive to even have the chance of damage or theft. It was sad to see they did not let mention of this when booking, why? Surely they know the ability to park at the hotel is a major factor in staying there, I mean they're in the hotel business...

I couldn't risk it, I left after having paid for a multiple night stay with the full meal deal of breakfast and evening meal paid for every day.
Did they apologise or try at least to assist in anyway? You've guessed it, no they did not. A swift middle finger by them to me and a grin as they kept the money I work far too hard and long for.

Just so you're all aware, do not trust this hotel to let you know if there's serious problems there that they know about during your stay when you make your booking!

4 night stay with mixed experience

4 night stay at over £100 per night.
The room in reasonable condition, but you could tell it's been a while since it's seen a lick of paint, the bathroom in particular looked fairly rough around the bottom of the bath, and around the sides of the toilet. The mirrors had smudge marks on them. They no longer supply any saucers, just two glass cups, two spoons. The staff were friendly and helpful as they struggled through a heatwave. Also, not a fault of the hotel or staff, but whoever was in the room above me, just before 7am, dropped something very heavy, which actually shook the room, and made me jump

So tired, but it's so loud

I am in the Owestry Premier Inn. There is a loud noise of pipes going on and off repeatedly since I arrived 4 hours ago. Raising it with reception didn't resolve this - apparently I can't move rooms because the hotel is full, which is surprising because the car park is half empty. The Customer Relations Line is closed after 8pm. I don't know what to do. I am currently trying to decide between sleeping in the corridor or sleeping in my car.

Good Night Guarantee = A Joke

Their Good Night Guarantee is an utterly worthless marketing gimmick. My room was 27 degrees at 7pm on a cool June day, with windows you couldn't open properly. The desk just fob you off with a customer care number, who tell you to call back after your check out day to be "taken care of". I left and got another hotel, feeling fairly convinced they'd sort me out. They then just wriggled out of any compensation or even a goodwill gesture by repeating that they never technically advertised air conditioning. Wouldn't even escalate the complaint. A truly woeful response to what must be a pretty common and very reasonable complaint. Won't ever stay in a Premier Inn again.

Stayed in a Premier Plus room at Glastonbury

Stayed in a Premier Plus room at Glastonbury. I was disappointed with the condition of the room, including carpets and other maintenance issues, which I photographed during my stay. I raised my concerns with staff whilst at the hotel and was directed to Guest Relations. Although Premier Inn advised that some matters would be reviewed, they declined any refund or compensation, even after escalation because they hadn't got any written reference of the complaint from the staff. As a long-standing customer, this was disappointing and not the standard I expected from a Premier Plus room.

Super helpful staff

Excellent staff. I stayed at the Hagley hotel in Halesowen, West Midlands.
The room was clean. The staff were super friendly and helpful. By far the best premier inn I have stayed in. I will definitely stay there again. Highly recommend if you’re in that area. It’s close to the M5 motorway plus easy access to Birmingham

Extremely unhelpful guest-relations department

We stayed at the Premier Inn North Pier Blackpool on June 8th in a twin room (220). When I went to sleep on the extra bed it did not feel very comfortable. I could feel the springs on the side of the mattress. When we lifted it up a bit to take better look, we found some Viagra pills and a used bandage. Not the kind of thing you expect to find in a hotel bed!
I reported the issue to the reception desk the following morning and handed in the pills and the bandage. The receptionist apologized snd said he would make a note of it. He also gave me the email address of Premier Inn’s guest relations department and told me to contact them to complain.
I wrote wrote to them explaining what had happened and got an email back, saying that they were very sorry, but needed more information.
After I sent the required information, I received another email saying that, for security and data-protection reasons, they were not able to proceed with my claim and I had to complete a new web form to open a new case.
I then contacted guest-relations by phone. The lady on the phone was quite rude and told me that, because I had not followed the right procedure, there was nothing she could do for me. I should have contacted them on the day of departure and made a complaint!
The fact that I followed the procedure I was told to follow by the receptionist did not make any difference.
Premier Inn’s guest relations department is extremely unhelpful and, at times, very rude!!
We have stayed in Premier Inns regularly over the years, but no more for us!!’
