Avoid this company at all costs
Premier Solicitors were named as executors of my late mother in laws will.
The solicitor in charge of the administration was incredibly slow, made several mistakes, withheld information and treated us as if we were an annoyance with curt dismissive emails.
The solicitor (J.S.) took 5 months to apply for probate, once this was issued we advised him of our change of address and he took 3 months to respond. Once 6 months had passed after the probate had been issued (recommended statutory period to allow creditors to come forward) we expected the house to be put on the market but instead he took a further 4 months arranging for it to be listed. All the while interest was still accruing on my mother-in-laws lifetime mortgage so this tardiness was creating a financial loss to the estate. During the sale of the house the solicitor failed to keep us informed of progress - he didn’t advise when contracts had been exchanged and didn’t bother to tell us that the house had been sold. It was only by chance that we saw the status of the property had changed on Rightmove a week later, so when I enquired as to the status only then did he say that it had sold a week prior. Expecting that we should receive details of the final settlement we were then told that there was an issue with an HMRC submission. We had to keep threatening to raise a formal complaint to get any response to our emails as these would take weeks to get a reply. When we finally received details of the final settlement we struggled to reconcile it to the original statement of assets and then saw the large financial loss all of these delays had caused. The administration had dragged on for 2 years to this point. As a result of the financial loss and the tardiness with which the administration had progressed we raised a formal complaint against J.S. which we eventually said we wouldn’t progress because we were just sick of the whole thing and just wanted the whole sorry affair to be over and done with. Despite raising concerns on various items on the statement of account the solicitor failed to address our concerns. When the final settlement was eventually made, a further 4 months after the house had been sold we were not advised that payment had been made. The primary reason for not being advised of the payment was because it was less than we had signed off on. The reason for the difference was due to several items that had been missed off the statement, despite having 2 years to gather this information. It transpired that one of the liabilities had been paid just 2 days after we raised our concerns about this but the solicitor decided to withhold this information to save face. When we queried the discrepancy the solicitor didn’t even have the courtesy to apologise. As a result of this we felt we had no option but to raise a second formal complaint against J.S. for maladministration. We took the complaint to the legal ombudsman who found in our favour and ordered Premier Solicitors to pay us for the financial loss incurred and also to pay £300 for emotional distress caused.
If I could give this company zero stars I would.

Everything. In early April 2025 I contacted Premier Solicitors for a copy of the Will after my husband passed away. When I received the Will I was shocked to see that Premier Solicitors were made co-Executors with myself. The Will Writer we used was supposed to add them if I was not capable to to execute his wishes. We did not receive a copy of the Will but it was sent directly to Premier from the Will writer we used for safe keeping. At no time did they contact us to inform what their role was going to be, fees involved etc. No one ever contacted us for contact details. I then wanted to get them removed as I was mentally capable to execute my husband wishes. I then employed a local solicitor who advised that should remove themselves because it has been done in the past. He wrote to them asking for any documents they sent to us. After not having a reply he kept phoning on a number of occasions for a reply but to no avail. Finally he had a phone call from a Mr. Yusuf who informed him they were not going to remove themselves. My solicitor then had to get a Barrister's advice and he was informed that this has happened in the past with others(not with Premier) but the matter was taken to court and the clients won and the offending solicitors had to pay costs. This has incurred costs for Barrister's fees and the solicitors dealing with this issue. All this is happening at a time when I grieving for the loss of my husband. Finally he wrote to them after nearly 4 months informing that the letter was final before action. The Will writer phoned me during this period to get my permission to give Premier my number so some one could speak to me, I presume, but I informed him I did not wish to do this and they should reply to my solicitor. Finally someone phone to say that have decided to remove themselves but I had to pay more money to get the document necessary. It took over 8 months for them to remove themselves and only now I can start the Probate process.
I find this disgusting that Solicitors can behave in this way, no concern for what I was going through. I am so relieved that I do not have to deal with them for Probate Process. The cost involved was nearly £3,000,00. Lyla Saheid

She has been wonderful and after asking few questions about my late wife's estate, she did a land registry search while talking to me and told me that I do not need to do a probate.

It's hard to know where to start with this company, which offered me by far the worst experience I have ever paid for in my life, and one for which the cliche is literally true that I wouldn't go through it if you paid ME, knowing what I know now.

I switched to this company from a different one on the recommendation of Chancellors Estate Agents of Hereford. Huge mistake and I have advised them never to recommend this company again (they agreed).

Firstly, I was assigned a trainee solicitor. No problem there; we've all been there and these people have got to learn somewhere. The problem was that she showed absolutely no enthusiasm whatsoever, refusing to even sign off her emails properly, address me or anybody else involved by name or follow other basic epistolary etiquette which I remember learning in English lessons around the age of 11 or 12. Her command of the English language in general would be bad for a car mechanic or hotel receptionist; it is unforgivable in a solicitor, even a trainee one. This is not just my pedantry, but had real-world consequences, including emails being sent to the wrong recipient in violation of GDPR - this happened multiple times that I know of, and it has been alleged to me that her supervisor did it too (I can't confirm this).

Aside from the poor linguistic skills, emails required multiple reminders to be sent at all, and were curt and dismissive, with a passive-aggressive tone that strongly suggested resentment at being bothered. I could understand this in a bitter solicitor of several decades, but a young trainee should show at least a modicum of enthusiasm; as it was, she had the resentful lack of enthusiasm one would expect in a supermarket shelf-stacker, not someone training for an extremely well-remunerated profession.

Moving on: Nobody here knows what they're doing, and I was asked multiple times for documents that had already been sent through months earlier, and sent invalid or irrelevant documents, or documents intended for other recipients.

Eventually, after the process had begun to take nearly twice the initially quoted time and my mortgage offer had already had to be renewed once, I snapped and started to express my frustrations. At this point, the company began to get real and started doing work it should have been doing many months earlier. The trouble was that it was rushed, and even more serious mistakes were made. The final week would make a good thriller if it had been fictional: I was finally told I had till the end of the day to deliver one particular document, and that it must be a hard copy. The twist is that I was told this ***AT 4:30PM*** that day. This necessitated an emotionally intense near 200 mile round trip at 8PM that evening, from which I didn't get home till 2AM, in order to deliver one A4 envelope. They will claim they informed me about this earlier, but they did not reveal the deadline until the very last minute (literally).

The next and final day of my dealings, I had to wrangle endlessly in order to hand the money over, with all sorts of conditions applied to this. Admittedly, this was not Premier's fault, but the fault of the absurd over-regulated society we live in, largely in order to produce makework for legal professionals but that's another story. What was Premier's fault and I resent a great deal is that it was dumped on me that I must pay many hundreds of pounds for an annual service for the log-burner in literally the same email that I gave consent to exchange contracts. I had already made it clear that the log-burner was a huge part of the appeal of the property, and if they'd not had to rush to do all their work at the last minute, and I'd known this sooner, I would certainly have demanded some money was knocked off the asking price as a condition of continuing the purchase. As it was, I am (ultimately) thousands of pounds out of pocket over this.

In short, this is a company to be avoided AT ALL COSTS, the literal Fawlty Towers of legal firms, and I still fully expect to discover in a few years' time I don't actually own my property. At this point I shall be taking legal action, and have retained all files and emails for this purpose.
