Avoid at all costs
I have paid out a lot of money to these people and it seems you can't book anything without paying them even more. The scheme is a bait and switch where you are offered a deal in exchange for what you have already paid to britishescapes.co.uk. Then after being assured and signing up you are called and told you have to pay even more for supplements without which nothing is bookable.
I too was conned...
I too was conned. Do not use this company! They sell you 5 weeks accommodation that you can use at their partner hotels or pay a small supplement for more expensive hotels. When trying to book, they offer minimal discounts that are nowhere near the amount they charge you. They also say you have to attend 'marketing' / timeshare meetings. I was also offered flight vouchers, which never arrived... and was then told they can only be used on long-haul flights. There are also offset companies involved 'british breakaway' and 'horizon' are two. Currently trying but they will not give a refund.
Do not use this company
Do not use this company. I was duped into buying a 25 days holiday deal thinking that I was sorted out for holidays. They read out terms and mentioned supplements which I queried and was told that sometimes there is a supplement of £15/20 per night in high season or premium hotels. I explained that I would only be holidaying in the UK and did not intend to go abroad and that I could only use the package during school holidays.
Now that I have come to book a holiday it turns out that all holidays require a supplement of up to £100 a night. I have been told that I cannot cancel this as I paid for it awhile ago although it is less than two weeks since I signed the agreement.
I have Now booked a hotel with them as I felt I had no choice but it turns out that I am paying exactly the same rate for the hotel as if I booked directly with them.
This means that I have paid premium breaks around £20 a night simply for phoning A hotel for me. I am in the process of taking legal advice to get all of my money back. Do not use this company they do not tell you the truth and then try and tell you that you weren’t listening that you were thinking about what you were having for supper or what soap opera you were going to watch when you got home!
Avoid at all costs
Avoid at all costs. They offer holidays at cheap prices but if you call the hotels directly they have never heard of the company. The director appears to make a habit of this as after some research I discovered that he has a long list of companies that have been closed down. The breaks are not ATOL protected as some sales staff claim and the whole idea is to get you to commit to breaks but in the small print it is a front for selling timeshares as you are required to attend a meeting if you do take a break. i admit I was conned by this company and was lucky in that I did get a refund through my credit card but it was a stressful process. Do yourself a favour and avoid at all costs
