Not smart at all, worst than a regular remote
When I purchased this article one of the main reasons was the announcement of the "Smart" features.
Smart implicates something other than a "remote" - by itself isn't very smart, but would have other features. It does, which is why the classification reached 3.
The great problem with this brand's "Smart" claim is:
It only, exclusively, works with the manufacturer app, AND the app MUST be connected to the Internet. There is no local control (aside from the device built in buttons), if your internet is down or you simply don't want the device to connect to the outer internet, then no dice. The app isn't even worth as remote.
But the biggest problem above all is that this device DOES NOT ALLOW it to be connected to any Smart Home Automation Software. The supposedly "Smart" demands in obligation internet access and access of the device to their cloud.
Today you buy any 2 euro controller from China allows to be added to anything. You can control behaviour based on other events.
If I want this fan to turn on when the first person arrives home and to turn off when the last person leaves, can't do it. Smart isn't performing a small number of functions with a phone app, the phone app isn't more than a lousy remote that doesn't work without internet. I can program running time in appliances with a normal remote control, don't need clouds to do it. So the requirement of Cloud to perform remote control actions is actually an imbecility.
Smart means I can connect it to other appliances in my home, it means whatever Home Controller software I'm using is able to actually control it.
So if you are considering their product (in my case a tower fan EAN 8713016082022 model 01.350000.01.001) for this purpose, forget it. The fan part is OK, the smart part isn't smart at all, it's simply a remote control that only works and only accepts connection from their Cloud.
If you're buying this believing you'll be able to integrate it with your Smart Home: YOU CAN'T.
And its all their devices from what I've read on the internet.
