Completely unprofessional organisation. Someone with a sense of humour or bad intentions added my email address to their database without consent, and despite numerous explanations, emails, and phone calls, they continue to bombard me with spam and worthless job offers. The nature of these “offers” is not only unethical but should be investigated under the UK’s Modern Slavery Act. Their persistence and disregard for data protection rules are unacceptable. Avoid this company at all costs!

If you have experienced issues with payment or contractual dishonesty, it is advised to document all communication, contracts, and hours worked. In the UK, it is illegal for agencies to charge work-seekers for finding work, and complaints can be directed to the Employment Agency Standards Inspectorate (EAS).

The recruitment agency contacted me regarding a job in Basingstoke for a company, which I will not name, that specialises in bespoke products for various companies across a wide range of industries.

After speaking to Max Cannon (the principal Relationship Manager at Proactive Global), I asked for the job spec to be sent over via email (which he deliberately did not do), the day before the job interview. The day came, I drove from Woking to Basingstoke for the interview, and what would you know, the agency LIED to the company about EVERY ASPECT of my application:

- They lied about where I lived (they told the company I lived in Hook instead of Woking).
- They changed FOUR of my previous job titles to be "Quality Inspector", which I have never held.
- They said I was IPC Certified, which I am NOT. I said I was familiar with the standards but not certified to them.

The company I was interviewing for understandably gave them an earful after a pleasant interview. Needless to say I did not get the job because they only wanted local hires.

Separately from this incident, I receive numerous calls from random employees at Proactive Global, all of whom have extremely thick Indian accents, making it difficult for me to understand them. They also fail to provide any details about the role they have for me, making it difficult for me to make an informed decision.

I would suggest they seriously up their game compared to other friendly agencies out there.
