I purchased a ProGuard PG2 service…63 Days, $9,962 Denied, Regulators in 3 States Investigating

I purchased a ProGuard PG2 service contract for my 2017 Audi A4. My vehicle has been immobilized at an authorized Audi dealership for 63 days since February 4th 2026 while ProGuard denies a legitimate claim.
A certified Audi technician documented in writing that coolant from a covered thermostat housing failure migrated through the wiring harness directly causing ECM failure. ProGuard denied the ECM, engine wiring harness, N249 turbo housing, and auxiliary bracket seal — approximately $9,962 in covered repairs — despite the dealer's written documentation proving the causal chain from a covered component.
Their Compliance Manager issued two contradictory written denial letters on the same claim. I called multiple times weekly for over 60 days with no substantive response. I contacted Fortegra the parent underwriter and was told they have no access to ProGuard's claims system.
Formal complaints filed with Arizona DIFI, Arizona Attorney General case CIC 26-005874, Pennsylvania Insurance Department Market Regulation, Florida Department of Insurance, and the BBB.
Before you purchase this warranty understand who is leaving the 5-star reviews. They are almost entirely car dealerships and sales representatives who profit from selling ProGuard contracts — not consumers who have actually filed claims. When you need this warranty to work this is what happens.
