The WORST proctor company! Taking a proctored exam / certification is never an enjoyable experience, but these guys are a joke. The amount of checks they ask for is insane..four corners of your room,... See more

If I could give negative stars I would
If I could give negative stars I would. This was the worst experience. I did a remote proctored exam. The first proctor spoke horrible English that I could barely understand. I am nervous enough to take the exam and this made it much worse. Then, while I understand the rules of home test taking, nobody can be in room with you...my 10 year old son comes in (he forgot I was taking the exam) I promptly told him to leave. I was then asked by the proctor if I was alone- I said yes and explained what had happened. Next thing I know, another proctor comes over the mic and says I was done taking the test and had violated the rules. I was on question 80 of 90 of a 3 hr exam. I thought this was absurd and without cause. Clearly the whole exchange with my son lasted 1 second and my 10 year old son isn't giving me any answers. Also, this wasn't my fault and was out of my control. For that, I will have to take the exam over after all that work! Do anything you can not to test through this company.
Ugh I ran the system to make sure
Ugh I ran the system to make sure, it seems like all checked and the hour before, the program quit unexpectedly. I got nervous..and finally tried to enter the confirmation number, I got a message I can’t enter because my exam date has expired??? I rechecked my email and talked with a chat agent he gave me the same confirmation number SMH of course it’s not working, was told I need to call and reschedule it.what the…. The fastest date is 5days later. I realllly wanted it done today and they messed up. I was thinking to go to the center when I re schedule but now I see all horrible reviews they had worse experiences even in center with this company. I am more nervous if i can take a test with no issues
Unprofessional Services at Exam Center
- There has been different treatment of candidates identification at the exam center: first time I went, I was denied entry from exam as my ID card did not have a signature, while some candidates were able to take the exam showing that exact same ID card the next time I went
- Both times I went to the exam center, my name was not set up in the systems, I had to check with various employees of the center who had to call Prometric and add my name at the last minute. This caused severe delays and stress that could have been avoided shall Prometric initially ensured I was correctly scheduled as per the email confirmation received.
Customer service told me to reach out to the exam institute, not taking responsibility for their role in this kind of situation
I don't understand how this is a company
I am definitely in line with all the 1-star reviews. I honestly do not understand how this company is still used, it is obviously terrible.
I was scheduled to write an industry exam (got my confirmation and everything) and I drove out to this place, which is very far from my house to be told that I was not in their system to write on that day.
AND OMG have you tried calling their customer care service? It's like talking to people with no brain- they will take you through all the prompts after explaining a 3-minute security thing and tell you that it is closed for today.
Absolutely garbage (and that's disrespectful to garbage)
If I could leave zero starts I would
If I could leave zero stars, I would. This is the absolute worst testing service ever
It would be zero star
If there's zero star I would have chose. The worst experience ever, took 5 hours for 3 hours exam. I've been waiting for 2.5 hours for my 2nd exam ( I'm currently waiting while writing this review). I booked the exam in the morning on holiday so I can finish early, get it over with and enjoy my day. BUT no, I'm still sitting here waiting for the proctor "will be with you shortly" LOL after 2.5hours I'm still waiting hello.!!!. The app is so bad. It couldn't even detect my webcam. I'm now sitting here hungry, hangry and cant even go washroom.
Their website errors out to charge…
Updated: Prometric refunded me due to the error on their website. I anticipated working with them to be harder than it was due to the reviews on this website, but they responded within 7 days and issued a full refund for the rescheduling fee.
Their website errors out to charge more. I have been trying for 3 days to reschedule my test before the deadline to avoid fees. This morning, I tried again, and it let me but only after paying an obscene rescheduling fee. If this is an intentional business practice, I believe this constitutes deceptive business practices and could be in violation of the Consumer Protection Act. If they issue a refund due to an error with their site, I will remove this review. Otherwise I will be contacting my state Division of Consumer Protection.
Couldn't log in for exam
Couldn't log in for exam. Took FOREVER to reach Support thru a ridiculous chatbot process, then I was told my exam was scheduled at 3am not 3pm (not due to my error). Then told I had to call another number with ticket number to resolve the issue. I've already wasted 40 minutes that I didn't have. So, I call this number and go through 5 minutes work of button-pressing options, only to have it ring and ring and hang up on me. Chat support then says to try this other number. Yeah, they were closed. Now I'm supposed to try to call back tomorrow. Chat support can't do anything. 1 star is too much.
Not good, now my CPU not even working.
Really bad experience, like others said their software wouldn't work on my mac and of course there is no tech support to help. So I installed software on my work laptop. Now my external monitor that I use with my laptop is blocked - they must have some software that blocks the laptop from recognizing the monitor - and get this, I uninstalled the prometric software and it still doesn't work! My tech department is stumped as well. Plus, the testing experience was terrible. The 'setup' people who look at your room are in a country where the connection is so bad you can't even hear them, plus they barely speak english and I am sure are getting paid nothing by Prometric. Then the actual software sucks - I had to do a licensing exam with math where they wouldn't let me use a calculator or paper so I had to use this terrible calculator on screen with complicated equations and an electronic notepad - I almost failed because of this. Plus the notepad and the calculator couldn't be sized smaller so I couldn't even see the test answers at the same time. It is a miracle I didn't fail the exam!
Prometric is one of the worst…
Prometric is one of the worst institutions to take an exam with, and worst customer service you can deal with. They rescheduled my exam to different date, time and settings without prior notification and they refuse to reschedule back to the original one without a charge.
Literally the worst
Literally the worst. The proctors were nice enough. Beware if you have a mac. If you keep your mac updated, you won't be able to use it for the test because their software is not up to date with the latest systems. I got disconnected 3 times, one because of my issue. The second and third were because of tech, one being that my test disappeared. The "Tech Expert" you contact with issues is an unhelpful chatbot. Proctors all have different standards for your area, so I had to remove more and more stuff each time I reconnected. They do not communicate beforehand the very high standards they have for your test-taking area.
I will be taking my future licensing exams in person. I really really suggest you do the same.
A proctor didn’t show up for 4 HOURS
I was scheduled to take my exam via remote proctoring today. My appointment was at 1:30pm. I launched the exam 15 minutes early. Followed the procedure as indicated and got the message window stating that ‘the proctor will be with you SHORTLY’. I waited for four hours without any updates or feedback. I couldn’t drink water or use the washroom as these are both prohibited. Finally a proctor showed up at 5pm! THIS IS NOT ACCEPTABLE. Extremely unprofessional. Terrible experience. Prometric has to provide feedback to candidates while they are waiting.
Awful
Awful. $53 to reschedule an appointment a month out. What a scam.
Not even a 1
Not even a 1. Scheduled two tests, and they cancelled both. What a sham!
Disappointing Experience! Mac users beware.
To start, this is not my first proctored exam. I am aware of some of the technical and environmental challenges associated with this type of testing. Prior to my scheduled exam date, I went through the online "System Readiness Check" along with additional steps in preparation for said exam. Although I received a 100% all green checks result from their website checker, I was denied access to my exam due to incompatibility with Mac OS. I am now unable to reschedule due to the timeframe and had absolutely had no success working through the Chatbot that ran me in circles with no option to proceed to an actual representative. I have submitted a request/complaint through a contact form. Let the waiting game begin. Wasted half a day so far and will have to dedicate another half day to this, when and if, I can ever figure out how to proceed from here. Very disappointing experience with this company. I hope ASE will make a change for future use.
Prometric is absolutely a horrendous…
Prometric is absolutely a horrendous organization. You cannot talk to them on the phone nor by email. They have canceled my ABFM testing twice, the last one less than a week before I was to take the test. Their website does not allow you to reschedule the exam as instructed by their own email. IT head needs to have his head roll. Scammers.
Truly terrible experience
Truly terrible experience. System checked the day before and I log on to the remote exam and I cannot access it and there is NO ONE to help. Actually that's not true, I spoke to a person and they transferred me over to the wrong department.
Proctored exams are not compatible with Macs in 2023 (even though I passes the system requirements when I ran the check).
I registered an exam (foundations of…
I registered an exam (foundations of education) as a college student. I am never in the military and when I arrived, the system insisted I show my military ID. The test center didn’t care and the customer service was bad. It took me 5 reps to escalate the case. Prometrix tried to shift the blame on DSST, but then they shared the same number. Very poor service and could take 3 days to get a reply from them as they claimed they are working on the case. So much nonsense and if you can avoid it at all cost.
Unfair and Unjust please investigate the bad apple
To whom it may concern
I applied to take the paraprofessional exam for the Teacher's assistant for Georgia , First time tested in Dec18,2022 remotely and the system didn't recognized me, after several attempt calling everywhere to reschedule 2 hour later I was told to go ahead take the exam anyways to not forfeit my fee which was $68.00. Five days later I received my results that I didn't pass which now has been erased from the Prometric system. On February 23rd I reschedule and paid $88.00 to retest for the Georgia para professional exam again after testing I was told by Prometric agent the test I took was wrong. Then again I reschedule on March 8th 2023 paid $88.00 dollar plus, and only to be told it was a wrong test again. I'm asking your team to investigate this unfair and unjust situation with a full refund.
What a nightmare!
What a nightmare! If there were any other options, I would never use Prometric! I scheduled a PMHNP readiness exam to be done on line. The day of the exam I logged on and went through three different proctors before finally getting to the exam. The first one gave instructions about what to show him, including the surroundings in my home, etc. After a long litany of issues were addressed, he finally said my living room was "too open" and I couldn't test there. I explained that this is the only house I have, to which he insisted I must "go in another room like your bedroom". Understand, there was no one else in the house, no distractions. He then proceeded to insist that the television be "blocked". When I inquired as to what this meant, in broken English, he repeated, "television be blocked". Finally, I unplugged the TV, which seemed to satisfy him. However, he then told me to click on a button on my computer screen which kicked me out of the Prometric system. I logged back on and got someone else, which meant I had to start over completely. In addition to very poor language skills, this one was very snarky and rude. My living room seemed to pass her inspection, but she spent an extensive amount of time examining my dining table, which doubles as a work station. After insisting to see "the corners of the table" and "underneath the chairs", she then demanded to know "what your rings symbolize" and insisted that I remove and hold them up to the camera. A wedding ring and a class ring that I never remove, this was absolutely ridiculous. I get the security precautions, but this is beyond absurd! She then asked what the meaning of the Star of David on my necklace was. Obnoxious and insulting! She then "transferred" me to another proctor, who proceeded to repeat all of the security checks yet again. Finally, after all of this, the test started. A quarter of the way through it, a message flashed on the screen that there was a server problem and I could not continue the test. I sent a text message through the chat option on the screen, asking what was going on. This time the replies came from multiple different people, as though my messages were going to a general mail box and whoever happened to see them responded with replies like "we're working on it" or "just give us three minutes". This seemed very suspicious and after 30 minutes or so, I told them I was logging off. I called two phone numbers on the website - one of them answered with a message that it was no longer working. The second one.....I was told they were opening a "case" and would provide a "case number" to me so that I could log back on and finish. Of course, this didn't work. The error message never let me get to the point of entering the "case number". Second call to the trusty customer service number yielded another solution: wait 24 to 48 hours and someone will call you to reschedule. I'm not holding my breath. What an absolute joke! If you have any other options, use them instead.
