Prometric SUCKS

on their website ... you have to ask for help WAY in advance! "Submit your accommodations request with your exam sponsor at least 90 days prior to your exam date and contact Prometric at least 60 days prior to your exam to be assigned {an} Advocate..."
The testing center computers are like dot-matrix in GREY writing NOT black with a TINY font ! Prometric SUCKS - why is there NO alternative. People are going for PROFESSIONAL exams and are treated like they are entering a plane to a third world country! How is THIS the only way to take professional exams - Is this a monopoly - what happened to ANTI-trust laws? I think it's time for class action lawsuit!!! Let's step back in time to 1980's for the MOST IMPORTANT test taking process in our lives!! THIS is sooo un-American - I am sure this company is owned outside U.S. that why it SUCKS so bad!!

the worst experience in all my career

the worst experience in all my career.

i was scheduled to take an exam at 10:30. as i like to be early to most things, i started attempting to find a proctor at about 9:30 to be safe. from here, i went through proctor after proctor for i’m not even joking.. the next THREE HOURS. each time someone new came they’d tell me something was wrong with my surroundings. i had to scan my room over and over again and they made me do things like take blankets off a chair next to me.. ask me to try again because i had CAT TOYS on the floor five feet away… i had to show them every inch of my lava lamp to make sure it didn’t have any “spy gear” i basically went through my room like a tornado trying to make them happy. one lady had the audacity to tell me to remove my CAT LITTER BOX from the room since it was within arms reach. moving furniture?? are you kidding me??? this is supposed to be a remote exam.. do they just expect you to have a lifesize cardboard box to sit in? also.. to make it even worse, each person has different rules? i was NEVER told i needed two forms of ID.. randomly some lady asked me for two and then said my second one was invalid because it only had my first name. then again, i was asked “do you have our headphones that you need for this exam?” dude what… no one ever mentioned that before and again.. my testing company didn’t say i needed headphones. so after an hour or so, i said screw it i’ll sit in my car.. OH GUESS WHAT you can’t take the exam in your car.. so i tried my bathroom.. and this snotty young girl said “sooo you can’t take this exam in a bathroom” why???? please tell me why. genuinely they would have found something wrong with any room i was in. they had no concern for MY TIME or scheduling since at the very end it was already over an hour past when i was supposed to start. they’re ridiculous and rude. it’s humiliating. i was clearly upset and stressed out and ripping my room apart in front of these people and they say “are you gonna take longer than a minute? cus ill need to disconnect you.” what’s even dumber is they would take you through the whole security thing and scan every inch of you and your room and then be like “oKaY i haVe tiP for you”
and then bring up something from the very beginning and say i needed to disconnect and start all over. dude tell me that in the beginning.. stop wasting my time. i just don’t understand any of it because i will be recorded during my test.. if im digging through my LITTER BOX for answers im sure you’ll see. all this stress for such an easy exam too.. even if i was a cheater i would not need to for this one. let’s chill out.
this must be so fun for them.. seriously Prometric.. YOU SUCK BIGTIME.

do not use this company. sorry you expect us all to have a white square room with absolutely nothing in it to test in. if i knew that was the case i would have just taken it in person.
after all this, i didn’t even get to take my exam.

Everything should be simple but....

Everything should be simple, but it's not with Prometric. I applied for the Florida CNA test and couldn't pay. I called Prometric and they couldn't even find my application. It takes 2 days for them to view an application made on their own website. They don't have enough information from applicants and make everything a nightmare in 2025.

0 stars, avoid at all costs.

Would honestly give them 0 stars if I could. Never had the misfortune of dealing with a worse company.

The ProProctor service isn’t fit for purpose, yet somehow they have a monopoly on online testing?!

Multiple tech issues, (after the proctor software did all its checks) multiple laptops. Confident not an issue my side.

Allowed me to book a test 11:15 GMT (2nd attempt after tech issues 2 days earlier). Spent 40mins waiting for a proctor, when I finally managed to get through to someone on the online chat (6 attempts as it says busy after answering a load of questions and then Cuts you off, no queue, just good bye.) I was told they didn’t start until 7am EST so had to wait until 12 GMT!!

After finally getting a proctor, who had issues with his audio, I had to restart the programme again, 20mins further, got to exam launch point, failed! Again.

Only help from them was “ring your sponsor”!!

Utterly useless and rubbish company, appalling customer service. Exams can be stressful enough and this company just don’t care, yet there is no other alternative.

If you do have the option to use someone else, 100% do it! You’ll regret choosing these guys.

How they get away with it I don’t know. The sponsors aren’t faultless either, they both blame each other, and as the candidate you’re stuck in the middle.

This company is the absolute worst!

I had a frustrating and disappointing experience with this company due to poor communication and lack of accountability.

Incorrect Exam Scheduling: They scheduled me for the wrong exam, which caused unnecessary delays.

Lack of Transparency: I was required to pay before being allowed to see available exam dates. When none of the dates worked with my schedule, they told me I'll have to request a refund.

Unresponsive Customer Service: Despite multiple attempts via phone and email, they have ignored my refund requests.

A simple fix would be allowing customers to check available exam dates BEFORE requiring payment. I strongly urge others to be cautious when dealing with this company, and I hope they address these issues to improve their service.

Worst exam experience of my life

Worst exam experience of my life. I was fully prepared for my exam and done all the checks prior to starting the real exam. Screen was frozen due to server issues on their side which meant I could not take my exam. I called many times to reschedule, every time I was told the manager is looking into it and they would call me back. I never received a call back from anyone at Prometric to this day. They will ignore your emails. I would 1000000% avoid.

I I had my exam scheduled for 6:15…

I I had my exam scheduled for 6:15 yesterday and it was the worst experience I ever had !! The screen was frozen and the chat !! I couldn’t even start the exam !! Now I have to wait for a week to see if it was my fault or theirs !! It just seems like a scam to take money !! Not to mention that the proctor is in another country . I don’t feel safe with my information in the hands of foreigners!

Absolutely terrible service

Absolutely terrible service. I had a question about if a temporary ID would work and it took them over 4 weeks (well past my test date) to tell me that I’ll have to ask the test proctor. Their “customer support” is just a game of being transferred to other people that “should be able to help” If possible I would avoid them to save yourself a headache.

This is the worst experience

This is the worst experience. They send you to India, then they disconnect after making you do so much stupid stuff. Now I am missing my test. Over an hour later and still can’t get through to take my test.

Avoid like the plague

Avoid like the plague. I tried 4 times to take an exam today. I'm an adult executive with a graduate degree in IT. They forced me to unplug my analog paper shredder and remove it from my office. Their software, which is utter fecal material, crashed so many times that I went all the way through showing someone the inside of my ear holes and turning out my pockets like a 1930's hobo, and then the software crashed. When I finally logged back in they wanted me to go through the entire process again. I never write reviews on anything, because we all know companies do not care. Please, please avoid prometric online testing. The only way we can force them to do better is to hurt their wallet. I'd rather drive somewhere and pencil in a scantron than ever do this again. Keep in mind I have 22 IT certs, so I've been through online remote proctoring since it was new. This is 10/10 bad. They must simply have no competition for it to be this bad. Their tech support was equally useless and pointed me to outdated articles depicting a UI for a website they don't even present to users anymore. Go on Reddit and read horror stories about how bad prometric is. AVOID.

Monopoly the license and exam

I don't know why the Prometirc can MONOPOLY so many important license exams in the USA. Why people don't have right to make them improvement. They charged expensive fee, on the contrast the service is so poor. The computere and internet was lag and slowly.
There is not any test center in Portland Oregon for the IRS EA test. People have to drive over three hours to nearest center.

Horrible experience

Horrible experience the entire way through. One of their proctors disconnected, one told me to start over because my room had 5 corners instead of 4 and wasn't able to start my examination until 45 minutes past when it was scheduled to after I had began the pre-test check 30 minutes before. Please if do not use this company for online proctored exams.

Terrible Experience – Buggy Software and Inefficient Process

My experience with Prometric was beyond frustrating and utterly heartbreaking. Their software is an absolute disaster, especially on a Mac. The connection failed three times, forcing me to restart repeatedly. After finally getting through, I had to endure invasive and creepy security checks, including showing behind my ears and performing unnecessary steps that made the process feel excessive and uncomfortable.

Even after all of that, the problems didn’t stop. We are almost about to start, my microphone stopped working—through no fault of my own—and the agent asked me to leave and rejoin the session. But here’s the kicker: when I switched to a second MacBook, I encountered the exact same problem. Entering my exam number caused the system to randomly disconnect again, proving that their software is fundamentally broken.

I had been preparing for this exam for 6 months, and Prometric ruined it for me. By the time I spent over an hour troubleshooting their unreliable system, I was completely drained, mentally and physically. I couldn’t take it anymore and gave up.

This company is a complete joke. Their buggy software and inefficient processes are unacceptable, especially when the stakes are so high for test-takers. I strongly urge others to avoid using their services at all costs.

Never got to finish my exam

I was writing my test which I spent hours studying for and started at 1:00am in my time zone. I answered over 100 of the 140 questions and had been working on it for over an hour when suddenly, I got the error message that my proctor had disconnected… so then I am waiting sometime after 2am for it to reconnect me… that never happens. So… I don’t get to finish the exam and to get the certification which I paid for. They claim nothing wrong on their end and steal my money. That is criminal.

Worst experience taking an exam EVER

Worst experience taking an exam EVER. Took me about 45 minutes just to complete the initial check in. After the halfway break period in my exam, my proctor disabled my chat and video, which left me unable to complete the re check in requirements. A service technician advised me to shut down the program and reopen it, which simply caused my computer to malfunction. I could not reopen Prometric or any software installed on my computer. I eventually fixed the issue by restarting my computer, but I had to go through the initial check in process AGAIN. I tried to discuss my issues with multiple readiness agents, who merely ignored my concerns. The only redeemable thing about my experience is that I was able to complete my exam, EXCEPT THE ENTIRE PROCESS TOOK 5 HOURS for an exam that was expected to take approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes to complete. Also throughout the exam, you are frequently reassigned a new proctor and they do not address anything you write in the chat in a timely manner. The customer service I experienced through Prometric left me feeling stressed, anxious, and unable to perform to the best of my abilities on my exam. In conclusion, I would recommend an alternative to Prometric if that option is available for your exam.

Disgusting Company with no care to military

This company will screw you over completely affecting your entire education without batting an eye. They are disgusting and have zero care for their customer service. They do not respond to any emails what so ever, I've only ever received an automatic email that had no info. All I needed was my SIMPLE test score from them for an extremely important public speaking DSST to finish my degree. They've killed months and months and went dark. Disgusting and Shady Company

Prometric Testing Center

Prometric Testing Center - 180 Bloor Street, Toronto, 8th Floor

Date of Experience: November 6, 2024
Exam Type: PEBC Pharmacy MCQ Exam

Highlights of a Terrible Experience

Location Setup: The testing center is located on the 8th floor of 180 Bloor Street, but the waiting area feels more like a congested, suffocating alley. No seating or comfortable space for exam-takers who are forced to stand and wait in a cramped corridor.

Locked Washrooms: Washrooms here are locked with a code, adding an extra barrier for stressed exam-takers. Basic facilities like this should be easily accessible, especially given the long waiting times.

Unprofessional, Rude Staff: The staff here lack any hint of customer service skills. They come across as rude and uninterested in helping, making the experience even more stressful.

Terrible Time Management: Exams are running drastically behind schedule. A 12:30 pm exam didn't start until after 1:20 pm, with no clear communication or updates. People scheduled for later times had no idea when they’d get in.

Total Disregard for Exam-Takers: The entire experience feels disrespectful, as though the test-takers’ time and comfort are not considered at all.
