How any retailer can charge £25.19 for a rotisserie chicken of poor quality is beyond me. More fool me for paying that price I know. I cannot say anything good about it.

Provenance Maida Vale:
We bought mixture of chicken wings and drumsticks late afternoon.
We kept it in in the fridge set to very low temperature.
Next day, some 16 hours later we were about to cook it but the smell was horrendous!
We literally had to ventilate the kitchen to get rid of it.
This would be unacceptable from any food store, let alone a reputable place like this establishment.
After a few months of very good service, the last 2 weeks made me think twice before I shop there again. First they charged me a higher price, resulting in me going back to ask for a refund.
Then, yesterday, they sold me a chicken that has the same sell-by date as the date of purchase! I didn't check because I trusted the staff. When I complained, admittedly the owner offered me a refund if I took the receipt back to the store, but I decided to take his word (that the chicken would still be fresh), and roasted it today (one day later). Well, the 1 week packing to sell-by period clearly affected the quality of the meat. The breast is bone dry and the rest is not great either. The meat has no taste. I am so disappointed.
Excellent butcher in central london! Meat was outstanding quality. Highly recommend!
