Julia recently catered for our mum’s big birthday weekend in Wells, and both she and the food were wonderful. We have a variety of dietary requirements in our family, including soy and dairy intolerance, gluten allergy and vegetarians. Julia was so accommodating of all of these, and provided the most delicious meals for us two days running. She and the two ladies assisting her were the kindest and most friendly people, and the entire experience was excellent.

Julia is a wonderful caterer! She was so flexible with all of our dietary requirements and the food was delicious! Her and her small team were so friendly and warm. Would definitely recommend Julia to anyone not wanting to cook and wanting delicious food!

We wanted something special for a 70th birthday lunch. Julia from Purple Plum suggested that they do a superb "Lebanese Feast". They were not wrong. They cooked great food (I'm am used to eating Lebanese food in London, so have a benchmark). The flavours were subtle and delicate. The spices beautifully balanced.
Julia presented the food to the party, explaining, what each dish was. Universal acclaim from all at the lunch. It was a pleasure meeting them and enjoying food they obviously love to cook.

If I could leave zero stars I would, but unfortunately it makes me select one.
Very bad experience which ended with Julia and team letting us down 15 minutes before booking.
Had made a booking back in February for a group birthday dinner, paid deposit and selected menu 2 weeks before event. On the day of the birthday dinner, caterers were supposed to show up at 530 and didn't. Got to 630 and nothing, called but no answer. Eventually got a TEXT at 7pm stating they were sorry but would not make it. Disappointed is an understatement. I had arranged the dinner for my sisters 40th birthday and had 17 people to feed with no notice. Such a poor, poor service.
Definitely be careful if you are looking to book. I wouldn't be surprised if the are no longer operating but do be careful before you hand over any money!!!!

I believe this company is going out of business. In any event they are not settling debts with creditors.

We had Purple Plum cater our wedding in September. Food was tasty - definitely on the rustic side, and would work best as 'family style' rather than served up individually (which we went for). Communication was a bit chaotic, but appreciate that its also been a chaotic time this past 18 months!

So accommodating for my very peculiar dietary needs nothing was to much trouble for these wonderful staff and chefs

We worked with Julia on a recent company away day at a private property. She was lovely to deal with and suggested some really wonderful and varied menus for our group that helped create the right vibe for the different parts of the event. Her and her staff completely ran the kitchen at the venue for us, meaning we didn’t need to worry about a thing. Plus all the team thought the food was delicious!

Exceptional service, great value for money and delicious and plentiful food. Fantastic lamb curry, vegetable/chickpea curry, naan breads, yogurt dip, persian rice; huge portions delivered with a smile, easily reheatable and certainly made life a lot easier! Would highly recommend Julia and just wish we lived nearer to be able to use her more regularly!

Julia at Purple Plum was great! She provided us with a three course meal for a dinner party this weekend which was absolutely delicious. She was very flexible with the menu, I chose some items off various menus on her website (tart to start, lamb/ratatouille/dauphinoise/tabouleh/veggies etc., brownies for pudding). She also made some additional dips etc. that she thought would work well. The food was delivered to us (due to restrictions) ready to re-heat, all of which was easy to do. Everyone loved it - thank you.

Julia and her team were a delight to work with. Thoroughly professional, helpful and friendly. They provided excellent food to our specific requirements and were creative in their menu suggestions, ensuring our guests were impressed and wowed with the colour, taste and smells of the buffet they provided. Purple Plum provided am extremely helpful table setting, table service and clearing service for us, which meant our lunch guests could all relax and enjoy each other's company - no-one had to clear the table! Thank you Purple Plum for helping our special event go so smoothly.

Wow…..well this is a little gem of a find.
I came across purple plum by luck and with very short notice, but the pictures and reviews were amazing, so decided to reach out to see if they could cater for a small 14 people gathering at short notice.
They did and they didn’t disappoint. The food was amazing and totally unique, delivered on time, nicely presented and a lovely wow factor.
Everything tasted fresh and vibrant and was a great talking point.
I would definitely use again and highly recommend.

They recently catered for our wedding day, where we had delicious sharing-style platters & canapes - it was incredible.

So many of our guests have commented on not only how good the food was, but how lovely the staff were - nothing was too much trouble and they were so thoughtful.

Awesome vegan food, packed with flavour and really generous portions! Working in the wedding market I have heard many people recommend Julia after having their catering provided by her. We have now had food from her for two dinner parties and can’t recommend her highly enough!

Delicious food beautifully packaged and prompt service delivered to my door my mum and I thoroughly enjoyed as a weekend treat! Perfect for my mother as we are both vegetarians and she is coeliac so wonderful to find tasty food delivered to your door.

We ordered a meal for home delivery yesterday, to eat in the garden, as we were meeting up with friends for the first time since lockdown.
What a treat! We had a really delicious, varied spread. It was easy to order, and the lady I spoke to to arrange it was friendly and helpful.
What I loved most was that the dishes were delivered in real dishes! No plastic disposables. Thank you! This made it even more special. We trusted them to make selections for us, and this worked well.
We ordered our meal on the recommendation of a friend, who'd had a similarly good experience, and we will be recommending to our friends.

I wanted a special meal delivered for 3 people for my 2nd birthday in lockdown, but it had to be low in saturated fat and Julia was very happy to help with that. Although none of us are vegetarian, the menu was so exciting it was a struggle to choose, and the food was totally delicious! Delivered in proper dishes instead of plastic tubs, it looked wonderful and as soon as the cling film came off the aroma was mouthwatering. Full of different textures, the food tasted as wonderful as we had hoped for and was really fresh - it almost seemed like going to a restaurant. The portions were so generous there was enough for a second meal. Delivered to our door, with dishes collected afterwards, the price was ridiculously cheap. We will definitely be using Purple Plum again.
