Court Order Acceptable for Processing (COAP)
My retirement plan is with the Federal Gov't so QDROs are not appropriate. You must use a Court Order Acceptable for Processing (COAP) with my Gov't Retirement Plan, which is slightly different from a QDRO.
There should be a Service Provider for COAPs. I think I will start one!

QDRO is used in the industry in a generic fashion, but the proper document that serves the same purpose for Federal Government Plans specifically is certainly a Court Order for Acceptable Processing (COAP). The first time I really got the help I was seeking is when I talked to a woman by the name of Desiree. Though I didn't get her last name, she really got me started on the right path of getting this settled. I've been trying since May of this year to get this money. I'm truly hoping I've got this QDRO filled out enough that I can get this accomplished sooner rather than later as I need it to live on.

Easy to understand, easy to complete.
