Horrible
Horrible, scam company. They reel you in by claiming their product is free, but word it carefully to leave out the truth, which is that after a certain amount of time they will charge you an extortionate amount to continue using the QR code, relying on the fact that you will have no choice as the code is now out there.
The support is non existent, they just have a terrible AI live chat which never gets you anywhere, you need to try and contact their parent company via twitter to stand any chance of getting a response.
Awful, predatory company that exists for no reason other than to scam people out of their money on technicalities. Avoid at all costs.
Replaced all human customer service w/ AI.
Cancelled my subscription but they are still trying to charge my card, so my Apple Card flags it as fraudulent, and I keep having to change my card number ... so then other charges are failing because I'm stuck in this horrible loop.
This is not an unsurmountable issue for most companies, a simple phone call or email could fix this. However they believe AI is a replacement for human help. There is literally no way to call, email, or contact a human being to resolve this issue.
You can use Canva for QR codes. No need for a $110/yr subscription that is just going to Bitly corp who is minimizing hiring humans and maximizing profits with a horrible user experience.
Absolute SCAM
Absolute SCAM. Signed up for a free QR code that supposedly never expires, now all of a sudden apparently my "free" trial has ended and they want exorbitant amounts of money to keep my "free" QR code active. Zero way to get hold of a real person. Avoid at all costs!
WORST QR CODE GENERATOR EVER!!!!!
If i could give zero or negative stars I definitely would!
This site offers "free" QR code creation but then requires payment or subscription after a short period to continue using. AND, the QR codes DO NOT even work the majority of the time when you do subscribe!! DO NOT WASTE YOUR $$$$ or time
Avoid This Service - Deceptive Billing & Non-Existent Support
My company, OandB.fr, has been a customer for 5 years. However, we only used their service once back in 2020. Despite multiple attempts to cancel our subscription since then, the company has continued to charge us year after year for a service we haven't used.
When we contacted their support team, we only received generic, automated AI responses that ignored our specific issue. They refused to provide a refund for the unauthorized charges, instead blaming us for their own system's failure to process the cancellation.
After several weeks of frustrating, unproductive back-and-forth, we were forced to contact our bank to dispute all charges from 2021 to the present.
This company's billing practices are unethical, and their customer support is non-existent. Save yourself the trouble and choose a different provider.
Malicious
Scam. Let's you make a qr code which they say is free, but then it stops working after 14 days unless you buy a subscription. I would not be surprised if they get a class action lawsuit against them.
scam!
scam!! I CAN'T CANCEL SUBSCRIPTION FOR MANY MONTH!!! SUPPORT AI IS SO USELESS! NOW I NEED TO GO TO THE BANK TO ASK REFUND
Drive up to insane costs! DO NOT DO
Total scam company. Costs me hundreds. Misleading small print
Absolutely horrible experience
Absolutely horrible experience! I got what I thought was a “free” QR code and ordered a sign from it to hang from my booth at an arts and crafts fair. Then days after began getting emails that “my QR code will expire”. I had a show coming up and was going to use the banner for it. I decided to buy a month subscription so that I could use it. I did not see I would be charged for an entire year! They call it a monthly subscription when in reality it is actually yearly! I immediately after purchase seen over $100 was taken from my bank account and went to contact the company. No number to call and they said to please give them 3 business days for them to sort it out when I did their whole chat contact. After over a week they contacted me and said the he could not issue a refund. Mind you I contacted them literally minutes after signing up when I realized what I had been charged. They guys are crooks preying on people. Don’t do business with them!
scam
Advertise and communicate as: Free QR Code Generator Online
This is VERY misleading as they charge after 7 days.
Complete scam!
Free QR Codes are Not Actually Free
They advertised free QR codes, so I made one. I spend hundreds of dollars printing the QR Code on cards, and then 14 days later learned that I have to pay for the QR code for it to actually work. I would have paid a reasonable amount for the individual QR code if they had been upfront about this, but I feel like I’m being manipulated. I will take my business elsewhere.
To avoid being scammed
I tried qrcodemonkey as recommended by a scientific conference organizer in order to make a QR code. After making the code the website asked me to register for a free trial. What I didn't notice was that this was a hidden add for qr code generator a site that seem to be a complete scam machine. I have tried to cancel my free subscription, but I can't reply to their email and I can't find contact info.
A complete scam!
A complete scam!
The site advertises "Free QR code generator".
I unfortunately believed it and used it with my business account.
The site did not make it clear that it was a free trial, which when ended, entirely DEACTIVATES your qr codes until you subscribe to their payment plan (at minimum around £10/month). I was only made aware of this setup via email around a week after generating.
I had already ordered business cards using the code generated and I am devastated that I now have to now pay for new ones.
I wish I had seen everyone else's reviews on trustpilot before I trusted the site.
Do not use!
Stay away from this company
Stay away from this company. I received a notice that they had renewed my billing and I cancelled same day. They said that they will not refund and that they automatically bill renewal. They do not make it clear or easy to cancel. No prior notice was provided.
Dont use if you want a free static QR code
This website does not make it very clear that you will be generating a dynamic QR code that will require a subscription to keep active after your 7 day free trial. There are many free static QR code generators out there I have now learned. I got unlucky and picked this site - not realising that I was generating a dynamic code. Beware! I had to have all my business cards reprinted to avoid paying a subscription to these scammers!
Denied refund same day I was charged
Asked for a refund same day I got charged because of an oversight. Chatbot would not connect me with a real human, and their terms and conditions won't allow for refunds. Parasitical company with a non-human approach to business. I do not recommend them.
Absolute scam
Absolute scam
Said QR code was free but end up charging you after your trial ends.
Then there is no way to get them working again without signing up for a years worth subscription to them starting at around £100.
A Broken Culture of Customer Service
A Broken Culture of Customer Service
I’ve been a paying customer for years, and unfortunately my last interaction with QR Code Generator PRO revealed a broken customer service culture that puts policy over people.
My subscription renewed automatically despite zero usage before or after the renewal. I reached out respectfully, explained the situation, and asked for a fair resolution. Instead of working with me, I was told:
• “We incur costs regardless of usage” (which I doubt, given my account sat frozen).
• “We cannot provide any further support … please talk to our chatbot.”
That closing line says it all. Rather than treating long-term customers with care, this company hides behind rigid policy and dismissive messaging. It’s not about fairness or ethics—it’s about squeezing revenue.
As a fellow business owner, I would never treat my customers this way. There are plenty of subscription companies that offer ethical, quality customer service. I would urge QR Code Generator’s leadership to read a few books on customer experience and rethink their approach. Until then, I cannot recommend this service to anyone who values integrity and support.
