Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 277 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed significant dissatisfaction with the subscription model, finding that services initially perceived as free later required expensive annual payments. People frequently encountered issues with pricing transparency, noting that advertised monthly rates often turned into unexpected yearly charges, and that free trials quickly expired, deactivating their QR codes. Reviewers also reported problems with the payment process, including unexpected auto-renewals and difficulty canceling subscriptions. The website's information was often criticized for being unclear about trial periods and the necessity of paid subscriptions, leading to frustration when QR codes stopped working after printing. Many consumers felt the customer service was unhelpful when trying to resolve these issues.

Avoid

Very deceptive - do not use. No mention that free trial would end after 1 week. Only offer yearly subscriptions. Incredibly bad customer service.

This site makes you wish no stars were…

This site makes you wish no stars were possible. I read terms and condoning EXTREMELY carefully, however long it takes me because I don't trust companies these day, so when I tell you there was NO description in there about a recurring subscription, that's a fact.
I didn't subscribe to them, because I only wanted 1 code so out of the option to: pay 99p for the one code OR subscribe monthly , I obviously clicked the 99p.
I've not got any subscription emails, nothing! They've left me with £3.64 left in my account. That's got to last my child and me 2 weeks.
Shaken to say the least

Subscription Scam

Complete b***shi* website. Says free but after 2 weeks they inform you that you have to pay for a qr code. They make the qr codes go to their website first so they deactivate them.

Very misleading advertising!

They promote on Google with “FREE QR code”, but it’s not free at all. After 14 days, I suddenly got an email saying “Your free trial is over.” Nowhere did it say it was a trial or that the QR code would be deactivated. Super misleading!

I already had flyers printed with that QR code, and now it’s deactivated — unless I buy a subscription. Total waste of time and money. Definitely not recommended!

Scam - avoid at all costs.

Scam - do not use!

Like everyone else, I created QR codes for a and then got told my QR codes would expire if I didn't upgrade. I upgraded twice and nothing changed - I still have QR codes I can't use, that are on printed marketing materials and are of no use. I feel totally scammed and out of pocket twice: For the upgraded billing and for printing QR codes for marketing materials that I cannot use. I'm so frustrated at this company. They're also impossible to get hold of.

The help system is also useless. I've tried to raise a ticket to get the QR codes reactivated, but nothing has come through. This is an awful business to do business with. How on earth this company is able to do business and not be shit down is beyond me.

It feels dishonest and like a true scamming business. Avoid at all costs.

I created a QR code for our wedding because it said that it was free with no mention of any "trial" - but now after 2 weeks it deactivated my only QR code and forced me until a subscription plan just to keep it active.

Misleading UX, unable to get a refund

I purchased what I thought was a monthly subscription from this company on October 8th, 2025 whereby you pay month-by-month for $19.99 for use of their dynamic QR code generator. However, after I made the purchase, it appeared I had been charged for an annual subscription of $119.88 USD instead. After I saw what went through on my credit card, I tried to contact them to get a refund and be switched to a monthly rate. Getting a hold of anyone was impossible; they have this terrible AI bot through ADA that recognizes they have a lot of customers in the same situation, but refuse to acknowledge and accept that their purchase pathways are misleading and need to be fixed because clearly this is an issue that happens a lot, the bot even acknowledged that. I was unable to submit a support ticket as the bot kept saying the same thing over and over, stating that I already had a ticket submitted, I haven't paid subscription fees, or there was an error in processing my request. I requested to speak with "JoAnne" from
Customer Marketing which is a name I found in the initial email I received after I signed up for a PRO subscription. No luck. I don't expect to hear anything from anyone at this company to try and rectify the situation, so hopefully I can steer others away from making a terrible purchase.

Avoid this company

I’m extremely disappointed with the support I received. They flat-out rejected my refund request without even considering any alternatives, which I find to be very poor business practice.

Holding onto a small amount of money at the expense of their reputation is incredibly short-sighted.

I wouldn’t recommend doing business with them unless they change their approach.

Do not use this site

Do not use this site. It has some nice features that attracted me to use it, but the pricing is abslutely ridiculuous! I've used 8 barcodes on a roller banner to show off my work, the banner is now completely useless and will need printing using free-to-use QR code.
New banner price £50
QR account £150 for one year - pointless and a real con as I was unaware that they would be be useless after 14 days (free trial)

A bait and switch scam!

The same as everyone else. The hidden "trial" burned me too. Now I printed business cards with a deactivated QR code. Don't use this product.

Absolutely appalled by this company

Absolutely appalled by this company. The QR code generator itself is average at best, but their business ethics are atrocious.

I closed my company six months ago and haven’t used their service since. Yet they’ve just taken £101 from my account for a full year’s subscription — completely without warning. I immediately went on their website to cancel and ask for a refund, only to be met by a chatbot that coldly told me I’m not eligible for a refund and to “check the terms of service.” No human support, no understanding, and no accountability.

To be clear — this isn’t about wanting a refund for unused months. I’m talking about a brand-new annual charge for a service I will not be using at all. That’s daylight robbery. Any credible company would issue a refund instantly when a customer explains their business has closed. Instead, this one hides behind bots and rigid policies to pocket your money.

There are far better, trustworthy QR code services out there — try QR Code Monkey, Beaconstac, or Flowcode. They actually have real people who respond, and they treat customers with basic respect.

I will never use this company again and strongly warn others: cancel your subscription immediately after purchase or risk being charged for something you’ll never use. This experience has been deeply disappointing and downright unacceptable.

Do not use!!

Do not use!!! I made a qr code that was supposed to be free. Static without making an account. I placed the code on a tent. Scanned the code and it doesn't work. It told me the code has been deactivated for some unknown reason. They could not fix or attempt to resolve the issue.

Too good to be true

Too good to be true. And that's exactly what happened after distributing the QR codes to your audience. Once you print the QR codes, they become inactive after 7 days. Sad way of doing business.

No refunds for a canceled plan

Annual plan over 120 euros. No refunds for canceled plans. Annoying and non-legitimate. After subscription canceled the codes stop working. Don’t use. Not even the free period. It is a trap.

They are literally *deactivating* your already printed QR and asking for ridiculous amount of money, while none of this was mentioned when creating the code. Absolutely horrible.
