I recently visited Quad at Glebe road Huntingdon to deliver my newly acquired ESL63's ( FRED's). I also took along a QUAD II 40 which decided to stop working. I met the staff who would be carrying out the repair/servicing of my beloved QUAD gear . These guys are the best techies out there for your QUAD units . I know that when my units are ready for collection that they will be " As New " . In the past I have sent back 33 pre , 405 & 405/2 , 606 , QC24 and II 40 valve amp for service. Honestly if you have any issues with QUAD units these guys are the ONLY PLACE to send your units. Don't go thinking you're going to have to take out a second mortgage, because their charges are very competitive, compared to private repairers . So do your ears a favour and send your gear to these Audio magicians.

Do not tell the truth about the poor manufacturing quality of Quad Electrostatic speakers on Facebook as they will block you.

My electrostatic speakers were bought privately with known issues .Quad were very informative at putting me in the picture with the cost and transport for the speakers.They were returned and rebuilt, back in around a week with as new performance, the same with a phono stage which I had to return.Rob Flain was very helpful.When you buy good audio it is nice to know you can have it serviced without hassle.

This old school British hi-fi manufacturer makes some of the finest audio equipment you're likely to encounter. The units last for decades too. I was fortunate to inherit a 40 year old Quad hi-fi system from my father. I had issues with the power cable having a poor connection. Quad were brilliant from start to finish. I sent all the equipment back to them and they performed a service which sorted out the issue. When the units came back I had issues connecting one cable and had to send it back. Turns out it was an error on my part but Quad were great, found a way to ensure I wouldn't encounter the same issue again and sent my unit back a 2nd time without charging me. I'm now set with old but revamped equipment I suspect will keep going for many years. I wouldn't hesitate to use them again, either to buy new equipment or for further service options. Outstanding service.
