Very patient and compassionate

Very patient and compassionate. She explained every detail clearly and what to expect. Treated our 15 year old family member as if it were her own. Our family pet was relaxed and comfortable in her own home. We highly appreciate the service and recommend Pet Quietus.

Professional,kind and reassuring

We had to make the heartbreaking decision to have our Westie, Maisie put to sleep. Evonne came to the house and helped us through this difficult process.
She was truly professional giving us time to say our goodbyes while keeping Maisie calm and comfortable. This made the experience bearable. Thank you Evonne and not forgetting Paul through communication.

True compassion and just what our precious girl needed

I have nothing but thanks and praise for Yvonne and the Quietus approach. We faced the heartbreaking decision to say goodbye to Ellie our English Springer last week. Our priority was for her to spend her last moments at home, without pain and surrounded by those that loved her most. Having gone through a loss of our previous dog at the vets I can honestly say this was the most peaceful and dignified approach. Yvonne gave us time together between the three stage process, showed true compassion for us all and made Ellie’s passing a positive memory. Yes money was discussed but that is business and I valued the opportunity to get this out the way before Yvonne’s arrival. Thanks again.

We would like to thank Paul and Yvonne…

We would like to thank Paul and Yvonne for helping us through such a difficult time. The caring way Yvonne explained every stage of what she was doing and gave us time at each stage to say our goodbye's to our Beautiful loving Basset hound Reenie who has been a member of our family for the past twelve and a half years. Thank you Bill & Gail

Do not risk our experience. Please read -

In reading this personal review you are already doing a better job that I did! The emotions and distress of the day that we had to make the worst/best decision for our brilliant dog Milo lead to me to fall into the awful experience of dealing with Quietus. Both Paul and his other half - Yvonne, are absolutely NOT what you, right now in reading this, are hoping for. First, in reading this, I wish you the best that the coming days can bring in your own horrible time with your loved pet.

Paul and Yvonne operate a slick and cleverly evolved animal disposal business. That is the nub of it. This is of course a hugely personal subject, you – right now – want to see and feel that your loved pet is enabled to sleep in the best and most gentle caring + personal way that YOU can give them. The experience that you risk having, if you choose Paul and Yvonne, however is a dispassionate, cold, peculiarly controlling, outright rude and ultimately poor one. That is my caution to you, you sincerely must take care, do NOT look back upon those outcomes by choosing Paul and Yvonne. I do not have a perfect alternative for you, I wish I did, it could be via a discussion with your own vet, and it could be by researching further and delving into all possible reviews. If you have friends/family/neighbors who have had to tread this horrible path, in letting their loved pet rest, speak to them, every one of them and anyone that you can find. But do not risk the choice of Paul and Yvonne.

These are some of the things that you must expect if you should choose Paul and Yvonne:

• The initial contact with them is all about the transaction, you will hear but a few lightweight words of commiseration before the conversation turns to ££ and how quickly you need to pay before any time/arrangement can be made.

• They will communicate a series of veiled threats [keeping in mind that they now have every penny of their fee] in text/email about their ‘covid regulations’, stating that you must open all doors and windows etc, that you should move your pet upstairs or wrap him/her in a blanket if cold while you have all doors and windows open in the ground floor of your house.

• They will communicate [very bluntly] that you MUST at all times wear a face mask, and that it will be up to the discretion of the vet [Paul/Yvonne] as to if/when you can remove your face mask. NB: this is mid 2023 folks, there is virtually nil community transmission prevention in place throughout the country, or indeed is it needed, BUT it is needed if you want to deal with Paul and Yvonne.

• They will stop still on your pathway/entrance if you dare to open the door without a mask on. They will bluntly and quite rudely tell you what to do, and that they need a room with windows open to set themselves up in.

• They will bluntly and curtly instruct you through the stages taking place [I am NOT going to describe the process here, frankly that is too much for me still], the point I am warning you about is this – do YOU want a rude and blunt atmosphere of control over the final minutes of your loved one’s life?

• Finally [awful word, but it is what it is] you will find yourself carrying your pet out to basically dump onto the back seat of a car, with no container [sorry, again, I have to state the picture] or any form of restraint, left to slide around on a plastic cover. Then doors closed and off away as quickly as they can manage.

• You will be given NO date or commitment to any timeframe in which you can expect to receive your pet’s ashes. In our case it was a vague ‘we will be away for the next 3-4 weeks until the end of May, so it will be some time in June if that’s OK, we will let you know’

Footnote: expect to see a very carefully worded response [from Paul] to this review, he knows his tactics well and will take care to pick through what I have said with his pretense of shock and bemusement. But in the end? The choice is yours, I felt it important to raise the risk to you here and again wish you well during the choice and times ahead for you.
