Knowingly sold trailer with defective equipment.
Purchased a 2019 Hyper-Lite 25 HFX XLR trailer from Quiet Woods RV in Neenah, WI. Returned trailer for the following repairs:
1. Bathroom Fan stopped working.
2. Awning would not extend.
3. Awning LED lights failed.
4. Exterior keypad never worked.
a. Bathroom fan control circuit board found to be defective. Quoted $582.00 to repair. The quote was for the replacement of the entire fan assembly, not the defective part which cost ~ $80-$120 online.
Checked reviews on the MaxxFan-4951KS.
This circuit board is not meant for use in damp areas and is subject to corrosion, causing premature failure. Replaced with a used circuit board after waterproofing connections for $40.00.
b. Awning did not extend when we returned home.
c. Awning LED lights worked !
d. After Quiet Woods disabled the Solara Smart Arm external keypad for the awning, the trailer LED running lights remain on, cant shut off.
For these results we were charged $283.50, and traveled 180 miles round trip to drop off and pick up.
Contacted Quiet Woods, we were given the following options:
-Drive back today we know what the problem is and can have it repaired for an additional $30.00 plus parts and labor.
-Or wait until mid July for their next available service opening.
We requested that a mobile service person come to our home and fix the trailer. The manager replied that their service personnel do not travel to the Green Bay area and that costs $150.00/hour, we do not know what tools or parts to bring or what is wrong, better to drive another 180 miles round trip and fix it at Quiet Woods.
When pressed he agreed to refund the $283.50 we paid.
The "Solara Smart Arm" keypad based on forum reviews is a bad design that allows water into the keypad corroding circuit connections causing failure. The awning never responded to keypad inputs, the lock/unlock icon blinked continuously. They even stated that my choosing not to replace the Solara Smart Arm keypad was a good choice because it is a defective design.
I should have followed up regarding the keypad, but we were set up at a permanent site 3 hours north of Quiet Woods and chose to use the inside switch instead, my bad!
This is my experience with Quiet Woods RV Service in Neenah, WI.
