Rabbie's Tours needs to rethink their children policy. It was completely detrimental to have two small children on this three day tour. One pays a lot of money for an otherwise excellent tour. Perhaps 10 yrs of age and older would be more appropriate.

We want families to be able to enjoy their tour together, and believe that 5 years and older is a suitable age to be able to fully enjoy their experience with us.
While we think that our tours are family friendly, we understand that having younger children in your group has impacted your overall enjoyment of the tour, and we regret to hear it.
I am glad to hear though that you had an excellent time on tour, and I'm sure that you have seen so many incredible landscapes and attractions and learned a lot about Scottish history, as Orkney is full of prehistoric sites. I've not had the chance to go myself yet but it's definitely high on my bucket list.

Great tour, but consideration must be given to accommodation sourced for guests. The Orkney Islands Hotel was like Fawlty Towers. The owner - a middle aged English lady - being a female version of Basil, and the very young - possibly her nephews? - waiters and waitresses mini Manuels (approx 16yos). She did NOT open at 7.30 for breakfast, it was 7.55am, when the 'mini-Manueling' (incompetent waitering and waitressing) began. We had to forget the idea of a cooked breakfast for time pressure, despite booking for 7.30am each morning. A one star review will be placed on TripAdvisor for this hotel later today.
