Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 96 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Many customers expressed dissatisfaction with the delivery service, citing frequent delays and missing issues, which often arrived days after the scheduled date or not at all. The customer service was widely criticized for being unhelpful, unresponsive, and difficult to reach, with many reporting long wait times and empty promises. Reviewers also faced significant problems with refunds, often being denied or experiencing substantial delays in receiving their money back, despite repeated attempts to contact the company. Some people were dissatisfied with the subscription process itself, feeling tricked by offers or finding it difficult to manage or cancel their subscriptions. However, a few other people also felt that when they did receive a response, it was polite and helpful, sometimes leading to a resolution of their issue.

Problem with non delivery of Radio Times

I take the Radio Times on subscription. The magazine for week beginning 19th March 2022 has not been received by myself nor my neighbour in WA15 postcode area. Copies are on the supermarket shelves though. It is now Wednesday 23rd and the post has been delivered but the copy for wb 26th March not been received yet either although there are x2 days to go this week. Subscription extended by 1 week so far after complaint. The service is not good enough!

One expects a period of adjustment to…

One expects a period of adjustment to an upgrade but this one appears to be quite astonishingly ill thought out in all respects - even without the frequent server errors. Hope it will be revised in the near future. Otherwise no-one will see those annoying adverts.

Terrible "upgrade"

Terrible "upgrade" removing most of the useful information - like digital channel number - and making a personal selection of channels very difficult to maintain. Hovering over a programme has also disappeared, now you have to click onto the transmission, and then it is not so easy to move onto another.

Terrible

Absolutely awful

Absolutely awful, dreadful to use certainly not user friendly for me. Apparently I am not alone, other reviews are not so good. I will certainly be finding a better alternative.

Awful new site

Awful new site! Absence of information on hover over a program listing is a pain - clicking on the program is clunky and slower. If I then click on read more, it goes to popular channels rather than Freeview (which is what I would normally have selected). It seems to me that the site feels and looks far inferior to that which it replaced.

To me, the overall experience is lousy.

I am loathe to criticise the website developers, but who the hell sanctioned this unnecessary downgrade.

Just awful

Just awful. Whoever designed that needs sacking! You click on a programme and then can’t close it down to return to main screen. Defaults to Popular channels won’t stay on Freeview.

New site listing are terrible downgrade

Terrible user interface. Complete downgrade. Key features that made it useful like hover for more info. Doesn’t save preferences, so you have to log out and back in again for them to work. Unusable, awful, can’t stand it, now looking for a new ‘go to’ listings site.

They clearly have a vacancy…

They clearly have a vacancy for web designers as this latest 'upgrade' is just an embarrassment. The user interface for the TV Guide has lost a lot of the key features that made it useful but, at its most fundamental level, it simply does not work. When revisiting the site it does not reuse your previously saved settings, so you have to log out and back in again for them to work. Its pathetic! Their developers should be ashamed of themselves

Change for the worse

I've been using the online version of the Radio Times for some years and have noticed a gradual deterioration in quality. However, this paled into insignificance compared to the latest 'revamp' of the total system.
1. Navigating through the site now works very slowly
2. There is no preview of the program content which means you have to click on and wait for the full review.
3. The icons for the program provider now has no identification of the channel number - freeview or otherwise.
All in all now a poor site and, surely, it was not trialed prior to going live. The old maxim applies "if it ain't bust, don't fix it"

The "improved" tv listings website is a massive downgrade

The recent (Mar 2022) "improvements" to the tv listings website have made it MUCH worse:
- No pop-up info on mouse hover: this is a *massive* pain in the neck and enough on its own to make me look at alternatives.
- Clicking on a show to display the details in the new expanding box is really quite slow.
- The timeline left/right arrows no longer move back/ahead by the period that's displayed (to show you a whole new screen of stuff not already displayed), you have to click three times to get a similar effect and if you click quickly it doesn't necessarily register them all
- The new font/size/etc. doesn't seem as nice to read / look at as the old ones (though maybe that'll dissipate over time?)

Talking Pictures TV has sunk down the list.

Talking Pictures TV has sunk to the bottom on their list as it takes no notice of my previous settings. I complained ages ago that the arrows to move the time span, often disappear. Now they've ceased to exist.
It's just impossible to use

Completely Ruined

These utter, utter morons have introduced a big upgrade today, which includes the following features:

1.Hiding the channel numbers unless you create an account and log in.
2.Removing the hover-over programme information feature.
3.Automatically signing you out every couple of hours, even if you leave the tab open.
4.Only allowing one type of favourite channels list, so if you pick all your favourite sky channels and save it, then go and pick your favourite Freeview channels, the Sky favourites list will be lost.

I've rarely seen more stupity, incompetence and general fecklessness applied by any company in one fell swoop.
